**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

Dragon Unbound (Dragon Kings Novella) by Donna Grant Tamlyn and Gullen he is a Dragon King and she is a Banshee. He is on this realm looking for what is threatening the dragons and she is rescuing the children with magic who are being sacrificed. This is a fast moving story with lots of danger, angst, tears, some laughter, some old and new friends and plenty of steam to get us to their HEA. Donna, you got my heart with "You my dragon". I did not want their story to end and do hope there will be more. Reasons I enjoyed this book: Unpredictable Action-packed Tragic Romantic Entertaining Witty Great word building Wonderful characters Easy-to-read Haunting Page-turner Tear-jerker Happily Ever After Steamy Scary
General Review: To be honest, I went into this expecting to love it for the smut, and while I did love it, it definitely wasn't for the smut (there wasn't that much anyway). I am absolutely in love with the world-building and magic system in this. You're telling me this world has DRAGONS and FAE??? SIGN ME UP. The way the magic works is literally just so intriguing and I need to know more. I don't think I've ever been so attached to world-building and magic this much before. Especially with the connection between earth/humans and the dragons. AND I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS. Can all dragons just summon whatever they want? Does each dragon have a unique power tied to them? Do all dragons have power or only the Dragon Kings? How do the dragons and fae interact? Do humans have different powers or is it the same power that keeps showing up? I JUST NEED TO KNOW MORE THIS IS TOO GOOD. The only reason I took off a star was the pacing for the romance was a bit rushed but that's expected since this is a novella.
Characters: Tamlyn - At first I was very annoyed by her name (ACOTAR reference) anddd maybe she's a little stupid (who trusts a guy they met that morning especially when she's been taught her whole life that dragons are dangerous? But he's hot and says he wants to help so I don't know). I was confused as to why she found being called 'lass' hot, but now that I think about it, it is pretty hot especially because he has an accent. Apart from that she's actually very brave, badass, and the way she needs to rescue the children is so sweet and a bit heartbreaking how she suffers if she doesn't get to them in time. Cullen - All I can think about when I see his name is twilight (maybe I do need to stop connecting every book I read to one I've read before...) BUT I actually kind of love him. The way he needs to do what's right regardless of the rules and how it might affect him is so admirable. I feel like I understand his instant attachment to Tamlyn more because of the whole 'mate' thing. He's a dragon, he's a king, he's hot, he has an accent, anddd I wanna call him Daddy. Sian & Jenefer - I LOVE THEM THEY'RE SO CUTE. Sian is the cutest and I just love how overprotective and strong Jenefer is AND THE FACT THAT THEYRE TOGETHER KHVJJEJEHE I just love the grumpy and sunshine trope.
I AM HOOKED AND DO NEED TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS NEXT.
We are back on Zora and I'm so happy for another Dragon King to find his one. This time its Cullen, the king of the Garnets. He helps Tamlyn escape the humans trying to harm her and a child. I have never read a book where a banshee is the heroine. It was very interesting once she realized what her power was. The invisible bad guy is back again, but Cullen is able to dodge his repeated tries to take him down.
Donna Grant. Never have I Doubted Your Ability... Your crafty ways you weave a tale, that captures are attention, soul and heats are kindle..
This is novella in the Dragon Kings series. The plot thickens and they keep getting better. If your looking for a series with all the heat and suspense that keeps you on your toes, and moments that blow your mind Donna Grant and this series is definitely one you need to get..
Only a few more days until DRAGON UNBOUND is out in the world. I loved writing Cullen and Tamlyn's story. So much happens, and sets up so much more in the series. I can't wait for you to read it!
EXCERPT
The air swept over Cullen, wrapping him in an embrace. He closed his eyes and soared through the night sky, basking in the silence and freedom. It was as if everything he’d hoped for had come to fruition.
He opened his eyes and looked at the ground far below him. He had left behind the fertile, flat, green fields and flew over rugged mountains dotted with waterfalls. Trees rose to the sky amid the jagged mountain slopes. He focused his gaze farther ahead. With his enhanced senses, he could see far into the distance to the canyon. It looked as if someone had split open the ground. He flapped his wings, flying faster in his eagerness. There was something about the canyon he couldn’t get enough of.
Cullen had arrived on Zora five weeks earlier at Constantine’s bidding. It had been time for a new adventure—though Cullen wasn’t thrilled there was a new foe. But enemies came from every direction when you were as powerful of a creature as a Dragon King. Many times, evil tried to tip the scales in its favor. That’s when Cullen and the rest of the Dragon Kings made an appearance.
From the moment everyone at Dreagan learned that the link between Earth and Zora was open, the Kings had wanted to go and get a glimpse of their dragons again. It had been entirely too long since they had laid eyes on their kin. Yet, Cullen and most of the others had to remain behind on Earth, chomping at the bit to see Zora.
Just when Cullen thought he might never get to see his Garnets again, they’d gotten word from Con, King of Dragon Kings, that all unmated Kings were needed. Cullen had been the first through the Fae doorway connecting the two realms. The moment he stepped into Zora and saw the dragons, emotion overwhelmed him. It lodged in his throat, choking him, but at the same time, the steel vise around his chest loosened for the first time in eons. He could’ve watched the dragons for eternity.
Con and Rhi’s twin children, Brandr and Eurwen, ruled Zora at Cairnkeep. That’s where the Dragon Kings congregated to get up to speed on things. Cairnkeep was the base in Zora—much as Dreagan was on Earth. Except the twins hadn’t built a grand manor as the Kings had. But Cullen suspected that would come soon enough.
He had been shocked to discover humans in Zora. It seemed that anywhere the dragons went, mortals weren’t far behind. Brandr and Eurwen hadn’t wanted to make the same mistakes the Kings had on Earth, so they’d set up sections on the realm for humans with an invisible barrier that kept them out of the dragons’ territory.
It had worked. Or they thought it had. Recently, however, the twins had learned that some humans had been capturing and torturing dragons for their magic. Cullen had missed out on aiding in punishing the mortals responsible. At least those poor dragons had been freed, and the mortals responsible dealt with.
But it wasn’t just humans on the realm. There were those with magic and others, like Jeyra, who aged at a much slower rate. Even before Jeyra mated a Dragon King, she had helped by sharing information about her city and those who ruled it. Despite that, some unknown foe had begun attacking and killing dragons. It was why Con had called for the Kings.
Cullen reached the beginning of the canyon. From his vantage point from above, it looked like the smallest crack that had splintered then became a gaping hole. No part of Zora wasn’t beautiful and unspoiled. It reminded him of Earth before the humans arrived. But he didn’t want to think about that. Not here, not in this pristine place that wasn’t buzzing with planes, trains, cars, satellites, or mortals.
He hadn’t realized how tense he’d been on Earth until he arrived in Zora. The Kings couldn’t give up their home. Not only did their presence keep the realm safe, but their home was near where magic welled from the planet. It was why they had chosen that spot for Dreagan.
Still…Cullen would have a difficult time leaving Zora. Even with humans.
Each Dragon King had been given a quadrant to keep watch over to see if anyone could catch the new enemy. He’d made it his mission to know every inch of the land he had been sent to. He flew over it several times a day. For five weeks, he and the other Kings had waited for an attack or some sign of their adversary. But there had been nothing.
He alternated when he made his passes in hopes of seeing something. The sky was a soft gray now. Bright light was beginning to show over the horizon, announcing that dawn was fast approaching. This was Cullen’s favorite time of day. He loved seeing the sunlight chase away the darkness and bathe the world in its radiance. But, most of all, he loved being able to fly freely. It wasn’t something any of the Dragon Kings had been able to do in eons, not since they sent the dragons away and hid from the mortals.
His heart was both joyful and wrenched at the same time. The fact that these dragons were the descendants of those on Earth brought a smile to his face. Just as it did knowing they were safe and free to live as they were supposed to.
On the other hand, his gut churned with bitterness and regret that the Kings had once had a world like Zora, but things had gone badly, leaving them only one choice. Sadness weighed heavily upon him at what he and the other Kings had lost. Their world might not have been perfect, but it was as close as it could be in his eyes. Earth was a place where he had to search to find beauty. Something that had once been everywhere before the humans cut down forests, drained lakes, moved rivers, and blasted mountains, all to cover it with concrete and build shopping malls or houses. How much longer could it continue before they depleted Earth of all her resources? What would the tedious, wrathful mortals do then?
Cullen’s thoughts skidded to a halt when he caught sight of a dark-haired woman bursting from the forest on the human side of the barrier with a small boy with black hair. They were running, the woman looking over her shoulder often. Cullen suspected the duo was coming for dragon territory, and since humans weren’t supposed to cross over, it meant that he had to stop them.
Just as he dipped his wing to turn around and confront the pair, a group of armored and uniformed men poured from the forest. Many had some form of injury—blood covering nearly all of them. Cullen wasn’t sure whose blood it was, but it didn’t matter. The men were after the woman and child. No human was supposed to come onto dragon land, but he wasn’t going to stand by and watch the men attack defenseless people.
Cullen tucked his wings and dove from the sky. As he neared, he opened his mouth and released his power of fog. It poured from him, falling to the ground and slowly spreading. He glanced at the woman and lad to see them near the edge of the barrier. His attention returned to the men. He curled into a ball as he shifted, calling his clothes and weapons to him as he landed on his feet.
Slowly, he lifted his head and grinned. He could see clearly through the fog, but the soldiers couldn’t. They were disoriented and trying to discern where it had come from. Cullen remained still and, with a simple thought, dispersed the fog enough for the men to see him.
“Who the bloody hell are you?” one of the soldiers demanded.
Cullen let his gaze move over the group as he held his axe in his left hand and his sword in his right. “You have one chance to turn around and leave.”

Not started the Dragon King series? There's still time to get the first book, DRAGON REVEALED!
Okay, I finished this book wayy too quickly. I might have ignored the clock so i could keep on reading. I mean one of the main characters has a Scottish accent. SCOTTISH everyone!! I’m a sucker for Scottish accents, so that was a huge plus for me reading this book.
The beginning was immediately full of action, also a huge plus for me. It sucked me right in and the story kept me entertained throughout the rest of the book. It’s been a while since I read a book about dragons, but now I cannot wait to start picking those up again! And that because of Dragon Unbound.
If you’re into dragons and magic, this might be the perfect book for you.
Zora, realm of the Dragon Kings, becomes increasingly more mysterious and intriguing with each book released in this spellbinding series. DRAGON UNBOUND is a mesmerising story interlaced with danger, suspense, wonder, and romance. Old friends return and new ones are introduced, making it even more enjoyable.
"The need to protect her was as undeniable as his attraction. He couldn't recall the last time he had felt such a strong tie to anyone."
Cullen, the Garnet Dragon King, has been called to Zora to assist in finding an invisible enemy who seems to have the ability to kill a dragon. How do you find an invisible enemy? Where has it come from? Tamlyn is a human with magic, a woman who is considered an outcast, an evil in her society. She's been risking her life rescuing children born with magic from being sacrificed by a cruel society. After one of her rescue missions, Cullen notices Tamlyn and he follows her, she intrigues him.
"He wanted her to look. To feel the same fire that burned within him. Because he couldn't take his eyes off her."
DRAGON UNBOUND is a fast-paced story that Ms. Grant has packed a large amount of information into, but she has also left me with many unanswered questions ... nothing unusual there!! I adored the relationship that developed between Cullen and Tamlyn, it was sweet, spicy, and had a natural progression. Danger lurks for both, yet amid it love flourishes and grows. Battling priests, soldiers, and an unseen enemy ensure for some suspenseful reading. Children needing rescuin and a simply precious "You my dragon" had my heart melting.
"Just because someone was different didn't make them evil or wrong. It just made them different."
DRAGON UNBOUND is another brilliant addition to the world of the Dragon Kings. It raises quite a few questions, which I know Donna will answer in time, but really, how much patience does she think I have?
I love this world that Donna Grant has created. The people and the imagery that she weaves allows the reader to become fully immersed in the world. The characters have good story arcs and progress well. This book, the whole series and the Dark Kings series before this, lean heavily on fate and mates so if that isn't your jam this book might not be for you. I recommend starting at book one. Or if you really want to understand the entire world start with the Dark Kings books. Strap in though as that series is epic and has many many books. It is by no means necessary to read them to understand what is happening in this book but it does give a better view into the world of the Kings and how their social structure works. There is are also two other connected series. One with the Reapers and one with the Warriors and those are also epic adventures.
Donna Grant’s third book in her ‘Dragon Kings’ series is utterly fantastic! This story introduces new beings that have unique abilities. Cullen and Tamlyn, the main characters, have an instant connection. Tamlyn has night visions of children screaming in her head. They are being murdered and she must save them before it’s too late. In dragon form, flying the skies, Cullen spies Tamlyn running with a child being chased by armed men. He causes a fog to impede the men’s progression. Why are the children being murdered and nobody but Tamlyn to save them? Why is Cullen interfering with human business? What kind of entity is Tamlyn? There are so many questions and twists and turns in this book that you need to read it to find out the answers and more. This is an exciting adventurous romantic book that was hard to put down. Highly recommended and definitely a MUST read!
An exciting new story in the new dragon series set on the Realm of Zora. This one follows Cullen and his mate Tamlyn as they navigate the delicate balance of human/dragon relations while still managing to fulfill Tamlyn's mission to save the innocent magicals being executed. His mission to find who is targeting the Dragons now had not been forgotten as the invisible enemy has him in it's site. They journey is exciting, intimate and action pact and I'm more than ready for more!
A man, a woman, and a cat. Yes, well there is also an Amazon and an alchemist along with other dragons we know and love. This storyline revolves around Cullen, the man, who is also King of the Garnet dragons working tirelessly to keep Tamlyn, the woman (Did I mention banshee?) alive as she rescues children who are discovered to have magic and are to be sacrificed. Saving the children just melts your heart as she doesn’t just want to SHE HAS TO! And they couldn’t have survived without the cat, a mystical wildcat who is just introduced in Dragon Unbound. But I am wagering we will see more of him!
Donna Grant crafts a fast-moving steamy love story that I had to read twice as I devoured it the first time through. I know you will enjoy this read.
Cullen is much sweeter than I ever imagined. He has such a generous heart that he may have just been to the top of my favorite king list. So you really don't want to miss this book! Donna will really pull your heartstrings with this one.
Cullen , a Dragon King, meets Tamlyn in the new realm of Zora. He was sent by Constantine to find the new threat that is now against the Dragons. Cullen falls in love with Tamlyn. She allows herself to trust Cullen to help her in her saving missions . His love gives Tamlyn the strength to be herself. I couldn’t put this book down. One of the best!
Dragon Unbound is the third book in the spin-off series—Dragon Kings. It takes place on Zora the dragon homeworld. Cullen is patrolling the border between human and dragon land, when he comes across a woman on the run from Stonemore soldiers is world will never be the same. When it is revealed, what Tamlyn is, it ponders bigger questions who and what are the humanoids on Zora are and who brought them there. As this a novella, and we are not far into this spin off, it is looking like it will be a glorious ride.
DRAGON UNBOUND is the third instalment in Donna Grant’s adult DRAGON KINGS paranormal/fantasy series-a spin off from the author’s DARK KINGS series. This is garnet dragon Cullen, and banshee Tamlyn’s story line. DRAGON UNBOUND can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as there is a running premise throughout.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Cullen and Tamlyn) DRAGON UNBOUND follows garnet dragon Cullen as he is tasked by Constantine, King of the Dragons, to search for an unknown enemy that has targeted the dragons living in Zora, the world beyond the portal where the dragon descendants continue to reside but Cullen quickly discovers that things are much worse than he could have ever imagined when the evil hunting the dragons is now focusing on any child believed to be capable of magical powers. Enter banshee Tamlyn, a young woman who ‘hears’ the screams of the children as they face their death, a death Tamlyn is desperate to try and prevent. With the help of our hero, Tamlyn will enter the walled city where the children are being held captive, a city that is hiding a dangerous and invisible secret. What ensues is the building relationship between Cullen and Tamlyn, and the potential fall-out as Tamlyn struggles to save all the children, and the source of the evil is as yet, unknown.
The relationship between Tamlyn and Cullen is one of immediate attraction but Cullen is not welcome in Tamlyn’s cloistered life. Along with an alchemist and an Amazon, Tamlyn is all that is between the young children and death, and in this, Cullen is seen as a deterrent and possible spy for those capturing and killing the children with a magical power. When Cullen reveals his true identity, Tamlyn finds herself working alongside in an effort to save the children from any further harm. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.
We are introduced to alchemist Sian, and Jenefer the Amazon, and the return of Teal Dragon King Vaughn, and his mate half fae-half dragon hybrid Eurwen, Eurwen’s brother and twin Brandr, as well as the King of Dragons Con. The requisite evil has yet to be revealed.
DRAGON UNBOUND is a story of power, control, evil and obsession. The premise is dark and intriguing; the romance is seductive; the characters are energetic and intense.
Cullen, being one of the un-mated Kings, has gone to Zora, at Con’s request, to help search for this new enemy. As he was enjoying flying freely without worry of humans noticing him, he notified a woman & a child being pursued. Even though he knows he should not interfere per the Twins rules, he can’t stand by and do nothing as the defenseless woman & child are chased by soldiers. After he fought off the soldiers, he followed the woman to see if he could get any information from her but wound up offering to help. Tamlyn knew she should have stopped the man from following her to the ruins where Jenefer, Sian and the other children are. She also didn’t know why her heart was hammering. She was able to save another child from being sacrificed for having magic. This man has magic himself and she told him how she hears the child’s screams before they are killed because she is a Banshee. But then he tells her he is a Dragon King and she becomes instantly afraid. How does a realm with no Dragon Kings have people who are taught to fear Dragons Kings, that to meet one would mean their death? Cullen wants to find out and hopes that helping Tamlyn with the children may also help him find out more about this unseen enemy of the Kings. He did not foresee that this mission would lead to him falling for someone. Or that he could be knocked out of the air by an enemy he could not see. Not only does Zora have humans that just appear as babies, some with magic and some without, it has the dragons sent from Earth, and now the Kings know that it has Banshees and Amazons. And of course there is this new enemy that can incapacitate the Kings without being seen - what other mysteries or enemies will Donna Grant’s characters face next? I can’t wait to see what unravels in her next story in her Dark World.
I received an ARC of this book in return for my honest review. Dragon Unbound: A Dragon Kings Novella is set in Zora and this new world is continuing the expansion of the Dragon King universe with hints of some of the strong females and other sentient beings that we’ll get to meet in this new realm.
While this can be read as a standalone novella, you won’t have background on the Dragon Kings and the challenges they face in Zora.
Cullen is the Garnet Dragon King and he’s come to Zora from Earth to see the dragons and to help the Dragon Kings find an invisible enemy who seems to have the ability to kill a dragon. How do you find an invisible enemy? What is the invisible enemy - another Dragon?
Tamlyn is a Banshee who has been risking her life to rescue children born with magic from being sacrificed by a society that executes ‘human’ children once they begin to show that they have abilities.
Cullen joins Tamlyn (and her friends) in their quest to rescue and protect the children while also hunting for the invisible enemy attacking the Dragon Kings.
Banshees, Alchemists, Amazons, sentient wild cats - the Dragon Kings New World Keeps Getting Better! I can’t wait to read Dragon Eternal this summer.
The plot thicken is how the description starts out with Dragon Unbound (Dragon Kings #3) by Donna Grant. This is so true but if you have read any other series by Ms. Grant then there is no surprise. Like the other series especially the Dark King the overarching theme built, developed over time with the enemy continuing to grow and change over the course of the series. However, each book has it own plot with a romance that finds a happy conclusion by the end. So it is with the Dragon Kings.
In book three the overarching theme is still being built so I would say that a new reader would not be lost in fact some of the danger becomes clear in this book especially against someone like Tamlyn. So enjoy this romance between Cullen and Tamlyn while also learning much about the new realm. Heat along with suspense, danger and a couple who are tough, independent, loyal, and willing to risk their lives to do what is right. The King of the Garnets is a favorite of mine now.
The publisher/author gave me a complimentary ARC of the book which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
With this series, a new world named Zora is still in a state of expanding and discovering. Nothing can be sure there, especially when the enemy is not that easy to track or even identify - all rules have changed! Right now each Dragon King has a place they are patrolling and trying to take care of and being on the lookout. Cullen is one of these, and under his protection is a neighborhood of Stonemore when something unexpected happens - will he manage to take care of this even stranger situation? Tamlyn is a girl from Zora that has one aim in her life - to protect children that are about to be doomed due to one condition. During one of those escapades, she's in mortal danger with no place to run to or even hide. In this dreading moment, unexpected help came - from the dragon! This book is a total rollercoaster, as there is so much going on, that each page was something unexpected and totally delicious as I love to expect the unexpected. I hope you all know the drill. Also, we will get a glimpse about what is to come, not much, but just enough to tease us and make us excited for the next book!
Cullen is the Dragon King of the garnets and has lived for millennia. He's resigned himself to never mating and dedicated to finding and fighting the new threat to the dragons in Zora.
Tamlyn is banshee rescued from being sacrificed as a child, all grown up she can hear the children's screams right before they are going to die. She along with her two friends work to save, children with magic from being sacrificed. Every rescue puts her closer to being captured and killed, but nothing will stop her from trying to save the children.
Cullen and Tamlyn are instantly attracted to each other and quickly become a team working together. Cullen will help her rescue the children while seeking out the evil trying to kill the dragon king and their dragons.
I really enjoy the Dragon Kings series and while I loved Cullen and Tamlyn, as well as her friends Jenefer and Sian, this book felt incomplete. Side arcs that got a lot of page time for a novella don't get resolved and the ending is extremely abrupt. I love these new characters but I felt they didn't get enough time to fully tell their story.
Tamlyn is a Survivor and a fighter. She’s on a mission and she will not allow anyone or thing to stand in her way. She’s used to fighting alone and has kept herself alive. Yet she couldn’t help that’s a step in alongside a mysterious stranger. A stranger that will change the world for her as she knows it.
The new Dragon world has an enemy threat and Cullen is tasked with finding and destroying whomever it may be. Just as he’s about to pounce his target Cullen finds himself ambushed. To his surprise he finds a warrior lass fighting along his side. The fates just shook this dragon king to the core.
I am loving the tales of the new dragon world. Tamlyn and Cullen may not Share each other’s mission but they do understand the cars behind each. They each carried out such noble actions while the enemy lay in the shadows. Tamlin as a strong heroine. She stood her ground and didn’t fall in the face of danger. Cullen met his match and his equal when he met Tamlyn. When the dragon kings know they know it’s amazing to watch them fall. Donna Grant once again bestows the magic of her dragon world upon her readers. Fast paced, lots of action and a couple that you definitely want to root for. The great line of “You my dragon “ , totally hits you in just the right way. Dragon Unbound started my reading year off right.
OMG…When will the Dragons Kings find Peace! Cullen was sent to Zora, by Constantine, to help the Dragons with their new threat. Although Brandr does not want the DK’s in his realm, he needs their help. Cullen is overcome with emotions, when he first arrives, at the sight of the Dragons, but he knows he was sent, by his King, to do a job. While on patrol, he sees a women running with a child and his protective instincts take over. He learns that the children are being sacrificed for their magic and Tamblyn, who is a Banshee, will do everything in her power to save them. Cullen steps in to assist Tamblyn, and realizes the situation, in Zora, is worse than believed. For this book to be a novella, it has a lot of moving parts. We also get to meet other interesting magical begins that hopefully, we will learn more about in future books. I loved Cullen and Tamblyn’s story and as always, DG’s books end way too soon. Another great read in the Dragon King’s saga. If you are looking for an AMAZING PNR, I highly recommend this series. You can read this book as a standalone, but I suggest, starting at the beginning to get the full enjoyment of the World DG created. I cannot wait for the next book.
Entertaining new Dragon Kings novella featuring Cullen, King of Garnets, and Tamlyn, a Banshee on a mission to save magical children. Cullen is on a mission of his own to find out who is targeting the dragons , but feels compelled to help Tamlyn (who is very reluctant to accept). While both missions are critical and time-sensitive, they must also do everything they can to not cause a war between the humans and the dragons.
I love this series so much. It just gets better and better. There's dragons (and their mates), quests, epic adventures, danger, drama, lots of heat, happiness, and a fast-paced storyline. If you're a fan of any of these, I highly recommend reading this book...and the whole series.
Many thanks to SocialButterflyPR for an advance copy of this book. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor or expectation.
I suggest raiding the couches, the cookie jar, your kids' college funds 🙃 Because once you are done with Dragon Unbound you will want this whole series
This is a new series for me as well as author - yeah I don't know how I missed this either This was a complete story with all the magic and adventure I look for in my paranormal romances. I was left wanting more time with these characters More time in this universe (wonderful world-building) Dragons, Fae, Valkyrie, magical creatures, evil rulers, lost cities, found families, and more
This is what I love about the dark nights' novellas A chance to dip your toes into another realm Taste a new flavor of fiction And this one definitely hit all the marks
In this novella, the plot thickens and previous boundaries are blurred. Cullen is experiencing something he hasn't seen in centuries - dragons taking to the air and enjoying their time without worry about humans. Honestly, reading the Dragon Kings makes me want to slaughter all the humans because they are filthy greedy destroying animals. The Dragon Kings have suffered so much it is heartbreaking. In this new world where the dragons have escaped to for refuge, it is once again threatened ... by these bloody humans.

I really enjoy these Dark Nights novellas, especially in Donna Grant’s Dragon King’s world. They’re fast paced, but with the use of familiar characters and new, she’s giving us good look into this brand new world that she’s bringing us into. I really liked Tamsyn’s character, I liked her strong will. Donna Grant does strong woman rolls really well. I like how Cullen’s character really showed the difference between the two realms of Dragon Kings, or two generations if you will. I really liked this book, and even though the story moved quickly, and pushes you deep into the world in just a short amount of time, it will leave you wishing for more time in that world and wanting to read more of it.
I loved this book! Not only was the story great, but Dragon Unbound made me really want to explore Zora more. I have loved getting to know the humans on Zora and can't wait to explore more of the different types of magic they have.
The plot gets thicker with each new book. Tamlyn is a Banshee. She has been saving children who are being sacrificed for having magic. Cullen is on Zora to try to find the “invisible” foe who is able to kill a Dragon. With the barrier set to keep dragons and humans apart, they would never have met. But during a rescue, he helps Tamlyn fight off soldiers and follows her back to her hiding place.
Not only is there an enemy to find, Cullen has to help Tamlyn rescue the children. This book is about a lot of different magical beings banding together to fight an evil, Banshees, Amazonians, Alchemists and more. I can’t wait to see where the next story takes us as we have a lot of different people introduced in this book.
Dragon Unbound was a novella, full of action and new twists and turns. We met new magical beings and I loved how they were incorporated. We learned some new things about the King's current enemy and got to enjoy a fast paced, adventure. I truly hope we get to know more about all the new characters in this book. Thank you, Ms Grant for another amazing book!
