I loved this book! Such genuine writing from Paco Montoya.

In No-One Knows About You we meet two characters from separate high school worlds. Brianna (a girl on the dance team dating the star football player) is looking to boost her history grade. When Ricardo (quiet nerd and known around school as Fat-Ricky) is recommended as a tutor, Brianna exhausts her other options, worried what others might think when they find out she will be spending time with a weirdo.

As Brianna gets to know Ricardo, we begin to learn all the hidden joys in his quiet life. His adoring parents are the perfect example of finding a forever love, and he has connections through the community - all who are happy to see him and commend him for being a good guy. So used to superficial relationships, Brianna is inspired to make changes and humbled by Ricardo’s kindness.

We watch the characters develop from their insecurities and, like most high school lessons, the characters learn to decide what’s important to them: what they want or what people think.

There are some parts of this book that resonated with me. The high school teasing, the quiet lunches, and the time my high school crush text me to ask me to write their essay for $25! I related to Ricardo and was so curious to see how he would grow. I wasn’t disappointed. The pacing was great!

I know I'm biased. It's my story and I still love it very much. This must have been the sixth or tenth time I've read it, but the first time I read it cover to cover without me editing it. It still made me smile, laugh, and cry.
