A wolf is attacking the humans of Timber Ridge and changing them into werewolves—against their will.
The change process is extremely dangerous and involves bloodshed. It isn’t something that happens by accident, which can only mean one thing.
Someone is doing this on purpose.
I’m going to find the rampaging sicko responsible for this outbreak, even if it means I have to master my new magic to stop them.
Thankfully, Greyson—the Pack Alpha and the most powerful wolf in the Midwest—is always down for a hunt. The only problem is that I’m starting to find him attractive—which is the worst thing I could do. He’s got an incomplete mate bond, and since I’m a hunter, I could never be a wolf’s mate.
That’s okay. I’m used to being alone. I'm a werewolf hunter, not part of the Pack. But that’s an awfully dangerous place to be when there is a rogue wolf on the loose.
United is the second book in the Pack of Dawn and Destiny urban fantasy trilogy, and is part of the Magiford Supernatural City world. It features werewolves, hunters, and fae, and is filled with humor, adventure, and a sweet romance that will have you laughing out loud.
My pen name is K. M. Shea, but my readers—I prefer to call them Champions—call me Kitty.
I love to write funny, clean stories with strong characters. Books like that are among my favorite to read so naturally I love writing stories like that as well. My philosophy is that life is tough, so books should be something that makes you relax and laugh!
You know...I thought the cliffhanger stuff was gonna be all nice until the epilogue. That said, despite me wanting to violently shake the author several instances for confirming my worst predictions, I REALLY enjoyed this second installment. Her urban fantasies sure are SOMETHING...funny, sweet, emotionally devastating. It's beautiful, and I like that we're also seeing a bit of the self-sabotaging nature of the heroine's lonliness complex, as well as more development with all the fluffy friendships and found family things. The slight mystery/detective side to this was done really well, by the way....and I'm glad it was kept simple and not too headachy.
So another wonderful example of how to write a good sequel with lovable characters, high but not too high and still horrible and scream worthy stakes, and just a world. So glad we got to see more worldbuilding about magic humans....
With that, see you in the finale. In the meantime, I will be dying
Content: A little violence, but nothing too harsh...werewolf changing is a bit harsh, though. And drugs. Something of romance but not really much yet. The hero still reminds me of Fred from Kitty's Cinderella, by the way...such a deviant
IM SCREAMING LAUGHING SQUEALING THIS WAS EVEN BETTER THAN THE FIRST BOOK. i literally got this the day it came out and then proceeded to absolutely devour it in three hours because PIP X GRAYSON FOREVER where has this otp been all my life <333
my only sadness is that I must now wait exactly 42 days until book 3 comes out.
Wow…all I can say! I read this book in ONE DAY! KM Shea is a MASTER at Urban Fantasy! 😍 I’m already starting book three and I’m going to be so sad when this series is over.
This series continues to have an amazing storyline. Action. Drama. Laughs.... Everything but heat. Honestly, as I get to know Pip, I can see why it would be missing. Hard to put into words buuuuut if you pick it up by book 2, I believe you will know what I mean.
Pip felt a bit dense at times. I mean, she was slow to put obvious pieces together. She was dense about putting herself into bad situations, particularly at the end. And I feel like she was reaaaaaaaallllllly dense with Grayson. He's not that way with anyone else, at all, ever. In fact, in book 1 she made note of how cool and controlled he was. How does she not pick up that he's actually flirting, enjoying her company? I mean, seriously. At times she felt as bright as a bucket of dried paint.
I like the characters. I like her trying to puzzle out her powers. I like Grayson trying to figure out how to approach her without it being a burden.
I'm kind of tired of hearing the forever alone whining, and about the unfulfilled - and impossible to fulfill - mate bond. Because look, folks, we all know it is going to be fulfilled. We even saw how, in this book, when she dropped her defenses. And so getting to it just feels overly, painfully, melodramatically drawn out to me. Their relationship as a whole feels that way, because they like each other. They so, incredibly, painfully, obviously like each other. So they need to grow the fuck up and have a conversation already. Please. PLEASE.
Also, I gotta be honest here: I really don't understand what the bad guy was actually trying to do.
And that all sounds like the book drove me nuts, but it didn't, I enjoyed it. And can't wait for the next. These are just things that keep it in the realm of good, when it could be great. That's all.
The bromance & Pack/Family vibes are adorable and hilarious!
The emotional rollercoaster gets real in this one as I went from grinning idiotically over the cuteness to being raging mad over the villain’s decisions.
The dog-ness factor is so cute, but also makes me sad because we just lost both our family dogs unexpectedly. Still, I love it because it reminds me of them. 🥹
It's amazing how fast 300+ pages can go by, I didn't really notice it until the book was over 😭 The cliffhangers (which have been obvious from the start) does not help with the wait until the last book either.
I appreciate that K.M. Shea releases all three books in the trilogy in the span of just two months, the wait is more bearable that way! (The third and final book will be out late February)
This book picks up where the last book left off. Except now more danger has come to the pack, and it will be up to Pip and Grayson to figure it out before someone dies.
The ending of this one was SO action-packed! I couldn't put it down!
And while there is a bit of a cliffhanger at the ending of this one (it is a book 2 in a trilogy after all), it doesn't have NEARLY as bad of a cliffhanger as the previous two Magiford trilogies.
If you have been waiting to find a clean, laugh-out-loud funny werewolf urban fantasy, then this series is EXACTLY what you've been waiting for!
Y'all. I wish this would've been my first introduction to Pip. In the first book, I barely tolerated her and the only thing that kept me reading was Greyson. My opinion of her did a complete 180° in this book.
Pip was awesome. I loved seeing her find her place and realizing who she is to the Pack. Granted, there were times she was a bit annoying and acted like a teenager instead of a 24 year old, but I definitely see me being Team Pip by the end of this series.
Once again, Greyson was fantastic! He's definitely one of my favorite Alphas. I loved all his interactions with Pip. You can see these two making the best team for the Pack once they finally get their acts together. I really enjoyed watching their relationship grow more in this book.
While there still wasn't as much romance as I like in the books I read, it had a little more than the first. I'm really, really hoping the romance amps up in book three! After all this waiting we deserve lots and lots of swoony kisses dang it! 😂
PSA for all those who do not like cliffhangers. Do NOT read this series until the final book is released. You'll find yourself extremely frustrated that you can't just grab the next book and dive right in. Trust me on this one. I wish I would've waited. 😝
I've only read a few books by K.M. Shea, but I plan on reading more by her. Some of my bookish friends have convinced to read the other two series set in this world. While both are slow burn, and I really dislike that kind of romance, I'm still looking forward to giving them a try.
And of course the casting is the same. I still love these two!
I still enjoyed the overall story and the mystery who-dunnit but the slow burn romance between the leads was a little...bland?
I know the two are still in a kind of transitional phase, but I wanted a little bit more something something. But if I just imagine Greyson looking like this I have a little more fun.
Oh wow, oh wow, this book is INTENSE, oh my goodness. People are being turned into werewolves against their will and it was both horrifying and terrible without going into gross details or over the top violence. Several of those scenes made me tear up too because you could just FEEL the devastation and pain of what was happening to the victims but also how angry and outraged Pip and Greyson were.
Speaking of Pip and Greyson, they grow so much closer in this book and I am here for their relationship! They’re just too cute even when Pip is annoyed by Greyson, lol. More members of the Pack are expanded too which is nice, and I love Wyatt and Aeric’s friendship not only with each other but with Pip too—they’re like the best combo of big brothers and solid pals and I love it. Scarlett and Radcliff are wonderful additions to the team too, and I’m glad we get to see them more!
My mom and sister felt the villain’s motivations at the end was a bit lacking, but I thought their blasé attitude towards what they did very realistic for a psychopathic character and made their actions that much more terrible and horrifying, especially while certain things in the climax were happening. Also convinced more reasons behind this might still come back up in larger scale in book three…
I’m so excited and pumped to read the final book! So curious on how the author is going to work with or around the mate bond… 👀

Sexual: a husband and wife kiss (not detailed)
Drug/Alcohol: a drug like magical substance is injected into werewolves; a character drinks alcohol

3.5/5.0 I’m still enjoying the story and the world where one town has successfully incorporated both werewolves and humans into a working relationship. Phillipa (Pip) is the most dense FMC I have read in quite a while, though, and that’s a bit frustrating.
The relationship buildup in this book kind of sucked, mostly because it made Pip seem kind of whiny and Greyson could have actually bothered to communicate, but that's also pretty consistent with the pattern in the other series.
That said, I enjoyed everything else. The mystery of what was going on was interesting and kept me engaged. I loved the character development of all of the other characters and had good excited moments here and there. I liked the worldbuilding that was the unique city of Timber Ridge, especially since the other series are all focused in Magiford.
"Hunted," was a rough, but promising start to "The Pack of Dawn and Destiny" series. I was hopeful that "United" would be better than its predecessor and I was right! This book was a lot of fun. There was a good mix of humorous and suspenseful scenes.
The humorous parts were mainly made up of witty banter between Pip and Greyson. I didn't really feel the chemistry between them in the first book, but I definitely felt it by the end of this one. I'm excited to see how their romance will play out in the last book.
The suspense also really kept me engaged in the story. The fight scenes were cool, as were the unexpected reveal of the bad guy was. I think that the third book will be even more exciting, based on the hints we got in "United".
The only thing I didn't love about "United," was that I felt a little disconnected from the main character, Pip. Other secondary characters were focused on more than she was. I wish we had gotten to know more about her motives and desires as we did in "Hunted".
I'm so excited to read the last book "Fated," which releases in a couple of weeks from the day I'm writing this review.
I enjoyed this second installment; it had a fun storyline with a mystery weaved throughout. I love the characters and small town of Timber Ridge. The romance is once again slow-burn, but starting to pick up steam. Hopefully we'll get an actual kiss in the next book!! It's a fun series and I'm glad the next book will be out soon because this one ends off with a cliffhanger!

Ugh, that ending was absolutely criminal. How could Shea leave us like that? And we have to wait another month?! I demand a riot to take place for us to get the 3rd book sooner.
Once again, amazing. Absolutely amazing. I believe I read this book the fastest out of all of Shea's books. Seriously, well written, the tension higher than ever. I'm pretty sure my heart rate reached the 100s at one point.
There is not enough superlatives in the English language to describe how amazing this book is. Just read it.
A wolf is going around changing humans. Luckily, Pip’s Wolf’s Kiss powers are helping in this dangerous situation, but will they find those responsible before they go too far?
I loved seeing Pip’s powers develop, and her relationship with Grayson grow. There were so many funny and sweet moments between them. And I loved the Night Court field trip.
I am so excited to see what happens next for my favorite pack!
“I hadn’t missed the way he inched closer- seeking physical comfort like a true wolf.”
This was basically 5 stars, the tension and angst between Grayson and Pip was chef’s kiss 🤌🏼 But I wish he had told her about the bond/mate thing earlier on. I felt like it’s dragging a little bit, esp because they still are in limbo by the beginning of the third book 😭
The plot was still good and the culprit behind the mystery werewolves turning was good. I loved the cameos made by the Night Court too!
The romance was just as enjoyable as the first book and I loveddddd how touchy feels Grayson gradually got throughout the book (I love werewolf romances got this!!!). And the way Pip would pet him as a wolf too <3 But as stated before, the mate thing is being dragged now. Hopefully Pip leans into the mate thing a bit more soon :(
Overall, another solid read in the series. K.M Shea is very good at keeping the quality of the books and plot consistent throughout her series!
A great addition to the series. There wasn’t a lot of action as the first one but the plot was still exciting and kept my heart pounding at times. There is more mystery in this one and the romance between Greyson & Pip progresses a bit as well. I must say that I loved how sweet Greyson was in this one (not that he wasn’t sweet before. He was just more so). My only complaint is that I wished that Pip figured out Greyson’s secret sooner. However, this book was enjoyable and I’m excited to see how everything is wrapped up in the final installment.
This book was so good!! I love Pip and Greyson, they are amazing, the banter between them always leaves me giggling and blushing. I think I love them almost as much as I do Hazel and Killian. The plot was amazing as well, can’t wait to find out what happens next, especially after that ending.
I like how this second book made things more intense and A LOT FUNNIER! I love the interaction between other supernaturals and I just love Greyson. Awwww.. My darling Greyson. I hope you get what you love and need in the last book!
I am exhausted by this book, and by that I mean I was awake until 5 in the morning finishing it, even though I knew I needed to be up at 7. I literally couldn't put it down. I was going to just read the first three chapters, then just till 2, then till 3, then I was too far in, and I'm not a quitter. Just like the last one, I'm glad no one was around to hear me, because I squealed at several points.
Much like the last book, while the POV is mostly Pip's, we see more of Greyson than we usually do from the dude perspective. I think it was really helpful, because of what we learned at the end of book one. I feel like we would have missed out on a lot of the story had we just had Pip's POV.
The twist definitely got me, and I was surprised that the villain was who it ended up being. Even when it was revealed, I wasn't sure that's how it was going to turn out until that person was on the page. I saw the fact that there would be a twist coming, but I'm looking forward to rereading so I can catch what I missed the first time. I also saw it coming for a couple of characters that got changed, but I wasn't sure what their fate would be, and I'm glad I was wrong about the last one, cause I saw that going a different way.
I liked the progression of Pip and Greyson's relationship, and that Pip was able to let go of her dislike for him. Seeing Greyson's perspective was also fun, given that he was/is further along in his feelings than she is.
I feel like I relate to Pip as a person a lot more than I did Hazel or Leila, and maybe that's because our responsibilities are similiar. Taking care of a house, work, balancing family life. I don't know what it's like to fight for my life against someone who has kidnapped my family, or be thrust into being a Queen, but I do know about the horror of yardwork, lol.
I also appreciate her willingness to throw hands when needed, and Greyson's willingness to put the smackdown on anyone that looks at Pip sideways.
I was a little worried what the conflict for book 3 would be, given that who provided the wolfsbane in book 1 was revealed. I also, in my sleep deprived haze, had to work through that the villain wasn't working for the Chosen, because that is a different book series, not at all connected to this one.
I liked that we got to see Greyson confess, and while I know there will be a resolution in the next book, I want to know now, dang it.
As for the reveal at the end for what the conflict of book 3 will be, all I can say about that is - THAT INFORMATION COULD HAVE WAITED ANOTHER 15 MINUTES, HECTOR. It wouldn't have changed anything if you had sat on that for just a little longer.
I'm really excited to see the conclusion of Pip and Greyson's story in book 3. I also enjoyed the little sneak peek of an upcoming main character. (For those who would like a hint, it's )
The tension is building in the Pack of Dawn and Destiny with "United," the second book in the series. This time Pip is trying to find out how to access her new abilities. Unfortunately, she is not having much luck.
Before Pip can figure out what is going on, locals are being attacked and turned into werewolves. These attacks are against people who have little chance of survival that is without Pip's intervention. Unfortunately, one of the victims is a child. However, in this case this child was not taking the attack lying down and she decides to help determine who is behind the attack.
Meanwhile, Alpha Greyson is struggling with how to handle his mating bond with Pip. She doesn't know and he doesn't want to tell her. The problem is she is going to find out eventually and she will be none to pleased to find out that he didn't tell her.
There is a lot going on in this read and all of it is fun! I enjoyed reading about how the group was trying to figure out who the attacker is and I was shocked when we finally find out. There was also plenty of action. I also enjoyed reading how uncomfortable Pip is when Greyson shows her support and affection. I cannot wait to see how their relationship grows.
