Lightning: A Tale of Two Brothers

Rate this book
The thin veils of peace holding the land of Ormithia together threaten to collapse with each passing day, but for most people it wasn't more interesting than food or fashion. Especially not for Alayakin, whose life was held relatively steady by helping run their family-owned inn alongside his adopted brother Ian.

But things suddenly turn for the worse when said brother is not only gravely bedridden but inexplicably kidnapped by monsters long-thought forgotten. And with the town still reeling from the turmoil, Alayakin quickly understood that if he didn't save his brother's life, nobody ever would.

Pursuing them through canyons and forests, he eventually happens upon Ian's kidnappers - or what's left of them. Barely able to fend off the survivors himself only to be then forcibly thrust into a world he never asked to be a part of, he soon learns that, by having changed his brother's fate all those years ago, he also inadvertently changed the course of the entire world.
