Ever wonder where the kids of the rich and famous go to school?
Eastbrooke Academy isn’t a regular school. It’s an elite boarding school, filled with the children of the outrageously rich, where drama is in excess and rules don’t apply.
Aubrey Lane Arrington, daughter of a famous actress and an international club owner, is set to attend. It’s where her parents met, but more importantly, she’s always dreamed of being there with her best friend and crush, Branson Johnson. Longtime family friends, the Johnson boys are legendary—known for their cocky grins, all-American good looks, and wild parties. They are also known to break hearts.
When a fight ends her friendship with Branson, Lane makes a last-minute trip to London, where she happens to hit things off with a really cute prince. And after spending a summer with him, the last place Lane wants to spend her junior year is at Eastbrooke Academy. But her parents aren’t letting her get out of it.
So, she comes up with a plan. Get kicked out of school. Move to London to be with her prince. And live happily ever after—without Branson.
Is Lane destined for London, or could Eastbrooke Academy—and a Johnson boy— win back her heart?

It feels so good to be back at Eastbrooke! I love second generation stories and The Keatyn Chronicles is one of my top favorite series so I knew this would be great, and it was.
Best Friends Aren't Forever primarily follows Aubrey Lane Arringon, Keatyn and Aiden Arrington's daughter. It's her junior year and her first year at Eastbrooke, and even though she's always looked forward to going to this school, now, she's not sure that she wants to.
Aubrey Lane has found independence from her two brothers (she's a triplet) while at a summer internship in London, plus, she's met a boy there. If that wasn't enough, there is someone she desperately wants to avoid at Eastbrooke. Branson Johnson- her former best friend.
The young adult angst and drama is my favorite and I'm already obsessed with this group of characters and can't wait to see where the story goes. I'm ready for more adventures in Eastbrooke and on a side note, seeing Braxton Johnson as the dean of the school is just epic!
***reference for me for future books*** -Arrignton triplets: Aubrey 'Lane', Asher 'Monroe', and Aspen -Johnsons: Beckett (Camden's son) and his cousin Branson (Dawson's son) -Waverly Wright (cousin to the Arringtons) -Laurent (new kid on legacy scholarship, parents unknown at this time) -Prince Augie (London boy) -London and Hudson (siblings and new friends) -Johnny Fab (Bam's son)
I don’t read very much YA romance but when I do I’m drawn to boarding school dramas and the first book in this new series was super juicy. Eastbrooke Academy is the school you go to if your parents are famous, super wealthy or both. If rich people behaving badly is one of my favorite tropes then rich kids behaving even worse if a close second 😂 There’s a large cast of characters and this book did a good job at setting the stage and giving you a solid sense of who everyone is and what their drama is, because they all have some, these kids are messy. I had so much fun with this scandalous escape and can’t wait for book two.
This was a great first start to The Eastbrooke Academy series!! I L O V E D the Keatyn Chronicles, so this series is like a welcome back hug!! Boarding school romance is one of my favorites to read. And this book did not disappoint: plenty of boarding school aspects and lots of love interest. Throughout the book, you read that Arrington struggles with does she stay at Eastbrooke like her parents want or can she get herself kicked out so she can go to school in London. When the time comes where the latter could be a possibility, she questions if that’s really what she wants. All the while growing her relationship with her prince of a boyfriend, plus fighting off the flirtatious prefect. Plus, dealing with the past of her ex friendship of a boy she used to think she liked more than a friend! All through the book, I kept going back and forth on who i think Arrlington should be with! I can’t wait to see what the next books in the series bring! Another great series, Jillian!

Book/series title & cover: "Best Friends Aren't Forever" is book 1 in the Eastbrooke Academy series, a spin-off series of the Keatyn Chronicles, which must not be read first, but if you want to read both series, you should start with the Keatyn Chronicles series. The cover is quite simple in loght rose, the title is squiggly and shows the Eastbrooke Academies coat of arms of. ====================
Writing style: "Best Friends Aren't Forever" is told primarily from Arrington/Lane/Aubrey's first-person perspective and a little bit from Laurent's first-person perspective. The writing style is typical Jillian Dodd, fluid, relaxed and young. ====================
My conclusion: I can't remember how many of Jillian Dodds books I've read or heard, but she never fails to amaze me. After I was lucky enough to be included in her reading team, I was really looking forward to "Best Friends Aren't Forever", at first, I couldn't wait and then something came up, which unfortunately made me spend a little longer on the book needed than it would have been the normally, because it can be read really fluently. I liked Arrington / Lane (or Aubrey – how she doesn't want to be called) right from the start. She is a very typical Jillian Dodd character: lovable, lively, stubborn, pretty, basically a good person - beautifully structured and authentic. She is a teenager - you can tell that from her, but I don't want to complain about that in any way as we are just at the start of the series - let's see how she will develop in the further progress of the series. I also really liked Augie, even if he's been a marginal figure from my point of view at the moment 😊. Not Branson, of course - but I think that was also planned 😉. I have no criticisms of the book itself. The only thing that bothers me is that 1. it was too short for me and 2. I now have to wait for the sequel again 😊 (as so often …). I'm already looking forward to the sequel; since love triangles are not really my thing, I'm curious to see how the story will develop in this direction ...
Tropes: - Friends to Lovers - Close proximity - Boarding school - Royalty romance - All the Drama
I just love everything Jillian Dodd writes. She’s an automatic buy author for me.
I absolutely adored ALL THE CHARACTERS and all the many different personalities.
It does seems to be leading into a love triangle… maybe eventually a square and I love that.
Prince Augie is great… but I’m leaning towards #TeamBeck
“I don’t know what’s going to happen between us. I’m sure you’ll always have a million guys wanting to date you, and you probably need to do that, but is there any reason why I can’t be one of those guys?”
Obsessed. You fall in love with characters immediately. Eastbrooke Academy is just as fun as ever. Nostalgia from Keatyn Chronicles while still being a standalone new and amazing series. Can not wait till book two release! Can it please be tomorrow?!
Prep school, rich kids, drama, love triangles… I mean what could go wrong?! Aubrey Lane Arrington is starting her junior year at the elite boarding school- Eastbrooke Academy, where both her parents went as well. But after getting a taste of independence from her two brothers-a summer spent in London, she’s not looking forward to going to school at Eastbrooke, leaving a new love interest behind in London... or facing her ex best friend, Branson. Que the teenage drama! This series is about the younger generation from the characters of The Keatyn Chronicles series- which I devoured back in 2021.
I loved the Keaton Chronicles series and reading about their kids grown up was such a fun continuation of the series! If you’re a fan of Gossip Girl or the 2000s version of 90210, you’ll love this. This was a fun quick read! I’m excited to see how our little love triangle unfolds and the roller coaster ride that will take us there!
This book was wow so good. Being back in the world of Eastbrooke Academy brought back all the feels and memories of The Keatyn Chronicles. Remembering what the parents were like when they went to that school, it was so fun to see what the next generation is like. Also no spoilers but I really hope Arrington ends up with a certain boy. This book made me want to go back and reread the Keatyn Chronicles which I might do. The plot twists and reveals were spot on and Totally Jillian’s style. I can’t wait to read the next book and I hate that we have to wait for it hopefully not too long tho.
I am so excited for this new series! Love that we get more of the Keatyn Chronicles world and seeing the new generation. Being back at Eastbrooke Academy is going to be full of fun, teenage love and a lot of drama. Can’t wait for future books and to learn more about these characters!
Ever since I started reading Jillian’s books I’ve been hooked, but this one had me obsessed! I’ve been waiting for her to release this first book and it did not disappoint! I love that she took us back to Eastbrooke with new faces from the originals and added some new places and kept some things the same. The ending killed me with the cliffhanger and I cannot wait for book 2!
So we start off with Aubrey, who's has just returned from London where she spent the summer with a cute prince. She has been told that her and her siblings will attend the prestigious academy, Eastbrooke, where their parents first met. She now has to find a way to get herself kicked out so she can to Kensington instead of Eastbrooke Academy, where her best friend/ crush since childhood, Branson, who she recently fought with also attends.
Ahhh!! In love with new/old series. Aubrey and her group of friends brings me nostalgia and that feeling of why I fell in love with Jillian Dodd and her work. Can't wait to see what mischief they will get into and what relationships will blossom because I am already shipping some couples. And what secrets will be discovered along the way. NEED MORE 🖤
Wow! This is going to be such a great series! I love when an author incorporates characters from the past and finding out what keatyn and Aiden have been up too! I can’t wait to see who Arrington ends up with!
I absolutely LOVED this book! Jillian brings us back into this fun world with this new generation!
Jillian’s attention to detail allows you to build the world in your head from what they are wearing to where they are at. I am already waiting impatiently for the next in the series. I don’t want it to stop and I must know what happens.
I love all the new characters we have been introduced to. They bring a different vibe than the original series. There are different twists and turns to some of the characters too that add a little spice! This book definitely still has the 90210 meets Gossip Girl feel! If you love The Keatyn Chronicles, this is a MUST HAVE!
This book follows Aubrey Lane Arrington and her journey to Kensington academy. It’s filled with drama, love triangles and dynamic Friendships. I enjoyed getting to know each of the characters and see how the different personalities worked together. Will Lane succeed in getting kicked out of school? And who will she end up with? What a good intro to the rest of the series and I cant wait to see what happens in the next book!
An addictive start to a new amazing prep school romance and I couldn’t put it down. If you’ve read the Keatyn books, you won’t want to miss this! I loved all of the new characters and their interactions…it was a lot of fun reading about the next generation at Eastbrooke. All of the teen drama, new friends, flirtations and broken hearts kept me highly entertained. Can’t wait for more, more, more!
We are back in Eastbrooke with the next generation and already we are deep in drama. Lane, or as she likes to now be called, Arrington wants to be kicked out of Eastbrooke. She would much rather go to London with Augie, the prince. The second she steps onto the Eastbrooke campus things start heating up. Augie shows up, Branson is still avoiding her, Beckham is flirty, the mysterious Laurent befriends her, her cousin, Waverly doesn’t want to be there, Johnny Fab wants to party, London wants to have fun, and her brothers are loving being there. This book brings some exciting new additions such as houses (think Hogwarts) based on your personality and other factors. In addition, we see many of our favorite characters and new faces too. There is a love triangle brewing or should I say a love diamond? Maybe a love pentagon? With many new characters, old faces, a great stomping grounds, plans to get kicked out, old feelings, new feelings, and kisses, the drama is only beginning. Top it off with a scandal that might just give Arrington her wish. Jillian gives us a great first book into the Eastbrooke series and leaves me feeling torn about a few things or should I say people. I am so excited what is in store next at Eastbrooke!
What a fantastic start to Jillian Dodd’s newest series! Brining us back to Eastbrooke Academy and jumping right into the prep school friendships, drama, romance, and school atmosphere. I am already in love with this new set of characters: the children of the Keatyn chronicles characters, and new faces that have showed up. It was a fun time reading Aubrey Lane’s first few days at Eastbrooke and exploring the old and new aspects of the academy, I could not put the book down. And in Jillian Dodd fashion, leaving us with a worthy cliff hanger ending that makes it impossible to wait for more of these characters right away!
Jillian Dodd does it again with her new series. Bringing back old favorites and giving us new time with the next generation…it’s everything you’ve wanted for some of favorite characters. Easter eggs from The Keatyn series are EVERYWHERE and I am here for it. Love the new characters and can’t wait to see where all this is going ♥️♥️
Boarding School Friends to Lovers Close Proximity Royalty Romance
✨ We’re back in Eastbrooke!! This is book one in a second generation series, but I’ll be the first to say this is my introduction to the entire world. So I can confidently say having not read the original series I still had no issue understanding or diving into this world. Even more so im immediately going to get my hands on the Keatyn Chronicles because the parents mentioned in this book, I’m low key obsessed with.
✨Best Friends Forever follows Audrey Lane (who is a triplet), and her junior year at the very school her parents attended. After something (no spoilers from me!) happens in the prequel “Kiss Me at Midnight”, she’s not nearly as excited about attending academy as she was. She’s actually avoiding a certain someone there, who at one time was very close! There’s boy after boy trying to get her attention, but who will she ultimately decide is for her!?
✨They’re a huge group of new people at the academy who I’m really hoping to get more from within the series later on, *cough cough* BECKHAM. This young adult book has all the drama, all the crushes, the tension, the swoony lines, and even a prince! 😏 With these group of characters it’s easy to fall into their world, and I already want more. I have to mention I’m OBSESSED with the housing for the juniors/seniors… I would for sure be Hawthorne House!

Y’all!!!! This book is one my most anticipated releases for 2023 and it lived up to the hype I had happening in my head! If you’ve read and loved The Keatyn Chronicles then this is an absolute must! However, you don’t have to read Keatyn’s story first to still love this series. I instantly fell in love with all the new characters - I love that we get some peeks at some old ones 🍀 It’s very fresh, new, and full of new twists and drama but at the same time feels familiar with the setting being Eastbrooke Academy. I can’t wait to see what’s next!
I’ve been waiting for this book for what feels like ages!!!
This is a sequel series basically to the awesome Keatyn Chronicles featuring the kids from all our favorite couples!
This book follows Keatyn’s triplets and more specifically her daughter Laney who is deciding to go by her last name Arrington instead.
Why you may ask?
Well, best friends aren’t forever and hearts can easily be put on the line and broken.
Laney is best friends with Dawson’s son Branson. But, she wishes they were more than friends, and one New Year’s eve she thinks she finally will be. But that changes when she sees him at the Hamptons.
From there she boards a plane to another country to work at her dads clubs trying to forget her back stabbing best friend. There she meets the proper and handsome Prince Augie. All she wants now is to skip Eastbrooke and go to his boarding school instead.
But, her parents insist she and her twin brothers will love Eastbrooke if they just give it a chance. So, she comes up with a plan. Get kicked out of Eastbrooke before the Kensington boarding school starts so she can attend there instead.
This books has swoon worthy guys, great characters from the originals we know and love, and hopefully, a new Eastbrooke love wether it be from Branson, Prince Augie, or another kid from our beloved couples.
Read this book to find out who Lane ends up with (or doesnt), what Branson did to ruin their friendship, and if she will succeed in getting kicked out of Eastbrooke!
I am so excited about this next generation series that Jillian has written and after reading this book, I need more, ASAP! I feel like I feel this way after every single one of Jillian’s books. Wait, it’s because I do. Truth…as excited as I was because I loved Keatyn Chronicles, I was also scared because I didn’t want KC 2.0. Good news it’s not. There are similarities because both series take place at Eastbrooke Academy but there are so many differences.
In this book we fill in what happened between “Kiss Me at Midnight” and “Best Friends Aren’t Forever.” Why Lane or as she is now calling herself Arrington has a broken heart and why she is so angry at her bestie Branson. WOW! Is all I can say. We find out some of the legacy that Keatyn has left behind at Eastbrooke. We discover all the updates to the school grounds. We discover new friends and personalities and of course there are always a few catty, jealous witches.
I have already formed my opinion on who Arrington should be with but it’s a tough choice honestly. When you read it you will understand. I have been sworn to no spoilers. All I can tell you is the drama is real. The Arrington children have never been to a school this large. They have always been home schooled and I think we are in for a ride with Aspen, Monroe, and definitely with Audrey Lane Arrington.
For as much as I loved Keatyn Chronicles, I thought this series was not going to be better than the original but I was wrong. So very wrong. Although it has been quite a bit of time since I've read Keatyn and the gang, I remember Keatyn and Aiden's story very well. This series is the second generation mostly Aubrey "Lane" Arrington. There are also a slew of additional characters. Her brothers Monroe and Aspen as well as Branson and Beckham Johnson. The dean is also a Johnson from the original series and a few others make a guest appearance. As for Lane, I really like her. I feel she is really mature for her age and isn't as obsessed with her appearance and clothes like Keatyn was. I think this was intentional as she favors her father.
I love the new friends that she has made so far at Eastbrooke. Laurent, London, her cousin Waverly, Johnny Fab and Prince Augie.
I am excited about the future books, because I have my favorite boy and that is who I am rooting for. I can't wait!
We’re following Aubrey Lane (she goes by Lane and by Arrington here so like I’ll call her A). She had a almost relationship with her childhood bff but now it’s over. She spent a summer interning in London and hung out with Augie (the Prince) and now wants to go to Kensington School in london instead of Eastbrooke. But she ends up at Eastbrooke.
I am LOVING the new Eastbrooke! It has major Hogwarts vibes because there are houses to be sorted into! I would have totally wanted to be in the one A chose. I’m so excited to see what fun Eastbrooke has in store.
Let’s move on to the romance! I like Augie, but there is someone I’m much more excited about. So I can’t wait to see how that plays out. There’s always a love triangle vibe but it seems like there may be even more here. And our girl A isn’t the only one who I am excited to see how her romance turns out.
The friend group is already so fun. I’m so excited to see what happens with all of them. I can already see my favorite characters developing and I honestly cannot wait to see where this series goes.
I’ve been anxiously awaiting the start to Jillian’s new series and it did NOT disappoint. This is the start of a boarding school drama with a sprinkle of sweet romance and I COULD NOT put it down!
For those of you that read The Keatyn Chronicles, this is the next generation. For those of you that did not read that series (like me 🙈) it doesn’t take away from this book/new series (though I now have to go back and read The Keatyn Chronicles!).
There are quirky friends, Harry Potter-esque houses, plans for expulsion, family friends, hot boys who all want our FMC, and a literal prince. 👑
Favorite Quote: “It makes you wonder, doesn’t it? …Which moments like that, at the beginning of our story, will be the things we look back on with fond memories. The hallmarks of our relationship.”
Thanks so much to Jillian Dodd for the ARC of this book!
Welcome back to EastBrooke ladies and gentlemen! The book follows the cast (wink) of the original characters in The Keatyn Chronicles in an exception of a few new members that I adore! Miss Aubrey Lane has always wanted to go to Eastbrook until “the kiss” After going to London for an internship at the family business over the summer she finds herself with new friends and a boy! She gets home and has decided she wants to go to Kingston academy for multiple reasons. The one reason she hasn’t told anyone is her best friend betrayed her in the worst way. She can’t face seeing him. So after a fat no from her parents she makes a plan to get kicked out. Let’s follow Aubrey into her and the crew into new ups and downs and of course all the boys.
It was so nice getting to revisit Eastbrook! We get to find out more about the kids but also get the same nostalgic feeling that we felt when we first read the Keatyn chronicles. Let me just say it first though I absolutely love Lane and I didn’t think I could love anyone more in the series more then Keatyn as a female lead. The sass in her I just adore! Omg can Jillian write the next book already because I’m squealing at the ending still. I can’t wait to discover all the mischief the new gang gets in to as well. Eeek I’m just obsessed 😊
Back to Eastbrooke we go! I was hesitant at first because I loved Jillian’s other books so fiercely. How could she possibly tie this in and make it it’s own story. BFAF is the perfect mixture of meeting up with your old friends to catch up on life, and paving your own way to make a name for yourself. There’s just enough from The Keatyn Chronicles to let you know which characters tie in where, but not too much that you couldn’t start here with no prior reading. I can’t wait to see what all unfolds with Aubrey and her friends. I was hooked early and already have my pick for her very own Moon Boy. 🖤
