Not for me.
I love omegaverse books.
I kind of like mafia books. That’s not my favorite trope but I wanted to try this book because the author promised a strong FMC.
What I don’t like is pages of torture without much point. It’s not that I don’t like that subject at all. I’ve read lots of books that include torture. But they always have a reason, usually with a great buildup before getting there. But the two scenes written in this book seems like an ode to bloodlust. It read like the author was living out their own fantasy rather than creating a scene in a book that added to the story.
I also don’t like reading about a strong FMC who just get pushed around. If the main character is that the heir to a mafia empire is an omega raised as an alpha. Then I would expect her to be able to handle the trash. But the author made her strong and then failed to let her live up to that. She just kept getting hurt and the only time she was really able to dish anything out was when she tortured people. Which by the way she absolute loved, and would make her a psychopath, but she wasn’t written that way. Here is this beautiful and tough omega who enjoys torturing people because ….. bloodlust?
I believed her relationship with her bodyguard but not the rest. There just wasn’t much put into those relationships besides fated mates and must have.
She was left alone multiple times by her supposed fated mates with very little protection. So the heir to the west coast mafia, fated mates but not mated yet, to three alphas and dating a beta is going to be left alone? Part of the omegaverse world is the need to protect. It’s not believable to me that they would leave her alone, especially after the first attack.
I also couldn’t buy into leaving cameras out of the library. So you are an overprotective highly trained alpha, but your only going to put cameras in parts of the shared spaces of the house after your fated mate gets attacked? That’s not believable. And the reason he didn’t had me rolling my eyes.
The author wrote Bianca as unhinged, but the final call with her Dad just came across as spoiled.
I’m so disappointed by this book. I won’t be reading the sequel.

I love debut books that blow your mind. This book was just that. The writing, the storyline, the originality and man, I did not see that ending playing out like that!!!
Haley, the mafia princess, born to take over the Storm family - daughter of two Alphas, expected to be Alpha on her 18th Birthday. When she designated as Omega, her entire being changes. Her father has no plans to change his daughters takeover, except now things will come with a twist.
Under lock and key - she is trained as Alpha, no matter her designation and quickly falls in love with Beta bodyguard and trainer. When the other families decide the Storm name will no longer reign, and attack her - her father is forced to hide Haley until further notice.
Gavin takes her back to where he’s from and knows she’ll be safe. Only - when they arrive and three alphas declare Fated Mates - once again, her life is turned around. Hunter and Arden are everything she needs but with Bianca scheming at every corner and whispering into Vinny’s ear, her “safe place” quickly turns into a nightmare.
The families are at war. People are not what they really seem. Haley is a tough as nails and can stand her ground unless the use of an Alpha tone is used, then…she’s as useless as she only ever feared.
When the ending comes - and it comes up quick after this page turner, we are left with our jaws hanging open and so many questions!!! I can’t wait for book two.
For a debut book, this exceeded my expectations and more and the originality of the storyline was awesome. I truly enjoyed it. Can’t wait to read more!!!!

What can I say about this book? I won’t give spoilers. But when I say I’ve only read a small handful of amazing stick with me for life books this is on it. It’s a debut novel!!!! I absolutely adore hunter and Gavin and Arden is growing on me. I just always pick the absolute psycho to fall in love with and hunter fits that to perfection. Now Vinny can get hit by a bus and Bianca can go f*** a cactus. But I know the next book will make me happy. Take a chance with this book. You’re gonna fall in love. By far the cringiest, pick-me-ass, try-hard, juvenile FMC out of every book I've read this past year, and with around 350 books under my belt this year that is an achievement. I hate it. It's like a 15-year-old from 2005 self-inserted into some omegaverse mafia fantasy. For stories that are a dime a dozen, this should be at the end of your list.
The thing is, I do really like the general premise. An omega, raised as an alpha who is meant to take over the family business of crime had some promise, but it just didn't work for me considering the main character is insufferable. You know the type, "I hate barbies" "no bimbo's allowed" "the other woman is surgically enhanced!? How dare". The fact that she was nuts was enough, I promise. It really didn't need to go the blonde-haired mean girl route.
The torture stuff was so OTT that it was embarrassing. I recently read the Coven of Sins series and the big, bad torturer guy was done really well in that one so it's not the violence that bothered me here. It just felt like it was trying way too hard to seem badass when it didn't need to come on so strongly.
This poor girl is also constantly swimming in her own vaginal fluids and it sounds miserable. Squelches and all.
"...and my slick floods out of me like an open faucet."
Why tho? Omegas always sound messy, but this one sounds like she needs medical assistance.
I disliked this book so much that I forced myself to read the whole thing to make sure I was justified in my feelings. The cliffhanger was really good though. I genuinely enjoyed how unhinged Bianca was as well.

First off, WOW 😍 I would have never guessed that this was done by a baby author! This author has such a way with words, that I could vividly picture everything I was reading! This is the PERFECT why choose mafia omegaverse and one of the best omegaverse books that I have read in a while!
All the alphas (minus Vinny) and the beta are just so sweet to Haylee…it seriously melts my heart with the connection that they have and the love they have for her. Gavin, the beta, is the cinnamonroll. Arden is the alpha with nerdy qualities who will steal your heart. Hunter is the blood thirsty alpha that is a little unhinged (and I absolutely love it). Vinny the alphahole, it will take some serious redemption from that man for me to ever like him. 😂
The twist and cliffhanger at the end will blow your mind. If I could give this over 5 stars I absolutely would. The spice in this is just SO yummy! I am left wanting the next book asap.

Kotah Jean’s debut romance, The Mafia’s Omega Princess, was an absolute pleasure to read. It did not feel like the work of a new author. The story was complex and well-plotted. She gave us a dark mafia romance, an omegaverse romance, a fate mates romance, a rejected mates romance, an other woman drama romance, and a sexy bodyguard all in one entertaining package. The pacing kept me so engaged that I read it through in one sitting. Kotah knows how to write a hell of a cliffhanger, too!
Haylee has trained her entire childhood to be the heir to the family business, a family that is one of the most prominent families of the west coast mafia. When she presents as an omega instead of an alpha, her family places her in hiding until they can discover a way to protect her before she can take over safely, free from the influence of an alpha’s command.
I appreciated how Kotah kept true to the standard ABO dynamics but did not strip Haylee of all her learned skills just because she became an omega. Her status did not detract from her earlier strength or her bloodlust. She was fully as capable, no matter her designation. She just became just a little more emotional and a slave to her hormones and that damn alpha command.
There is some excellent spice in this book. We have a chemically induced heat and several individual scenes. As seen in the best of omegaverse romances, expect plenty of slick, knots, and scent cues. It was very well done.
The Mafia’s Omega Princess is not a standalone. Be prepared for a cliffhanger. It is intense. I hope book two is close to completion because I need to know what happens next. Soon.

Haylee the FMC is a total bada$$.
She is strong and confident, but like most of us she still has a few insecurities, but she doesn’t let that show. She can fight and defend herself. She can run her own empire. She would like a man but doesn’t need one, and that’s what made me love this story. Spoiler she finds four men 😜.
You fall for her wit, charm, and her clumsy behavior. As far as the men? Where do I start. It’s hard to pick a favorite… who am I kidding… It’s Hunter for me but they are all loveable in their own way and 🥵🥵🥵.
So much love, spice, and fluid. 😂
Also another winner in this storyline for me is Bianca AKA Barbie B. I actually really liked her and wanted more, yes she’s a villain but highly entertaining.
You will have to read this story to find out.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and couldn’t stop turning the pages. Highly entertaining and enjoyable. The time flew by along with my adult responsibilities.

I really like the concept of Mafia vibes and Omegaverse alongside the strong family unit that the FMC has. Unlike other stories out there, she has strong, caring and devoted parents.
When she is swept away by her bodyguard and taken to his home, she comes face to face with her mates. Now, I am perfectly fine with the fated mate trope, scent matches, etc., but for one reason or another this one did just not work for me. One of the guys was just so... stuck up in his own ways that his constant need to resist the connection made him quite despicable.
Overall, the writing was quite good and the story flowed smoothly, but somehow it did not make fall in love with it. Nevertheless, an interesting story and I am certain that it has a lot of potential. Will be reading the second one at some point.

This story gave me two of my favorite tropes, mafia and omegaverse. How could I not read it. It’s dark, sexy, and just freakin fantastic.
Haylee has been training her entire life to take over the family business. When it’s her time to present, instead of becoming the alpha she thought she would be, Haylee finds out she’s an omega. With her entire world crashed down around her, Haylee is hidden away. Until the inevitable happens and her life is flipped upside down.
I like that even though she’s an omega, Haylee can still kick a$$. This book is spicy and I’m all here for the knotting. The storyline is great and I enjoyed every minute of it. Can’t wait for the next book, especially after that doozy of a cliffhanger.

I hate this.
Haylee is so annoyingly wishy washy. She's supposed to be a badass, trained her whole life to be the alpha lead of a mafia family. But.. 1) she's a total clutz. Falling down stairs. Dropping things. Doesn't hear people sneaking up on her. 2) she's childish. throwing her phone against the wall for *gasp* having an alarm set? 3) she has what appears to be no control over her emotions which are very flighty for a mobster-to-be. Lust to the nth degree over Gavin, for no reason (he's a beta), has a panic attack after an attempted SA. Again, for any other heroine, sure, but NOT a mobster-to-be. Even after being in hiding for 3 years, she almost throws in all away over a Skype call.
Can't comment on Gavin, but his hangup for his dead ex would quickly get on my nerves.
The creepy slimy guy who tries to take over the mafia seems overly stupid, reckless, and hotheaded for even a low level mafia family.
Actually, it's like the author has never read a mafia book. Why would an arms dealing mafia research guns on freaking YouTube?
I just KNOW I will not be able to let any of this go and enjoy, so I'm stopping here.

This book was hot, steamy, with lots of action, spice qnd humour, Hales is as clumsy as she is fierce and i genuinely lol at moments.

RH 3 Alphas & 1 Beta/Omegaverse/Mafia Fated Mates/Multi PoVs
SYNOPSIS (of Duet): The story is set in the Omegaverse. The FC, Hailee, is the heir to the South Coast mafia but instead of presenting as an Alpha she presents as an Omega. That puts her life at risk as she could be forced to mate with an Alpha. One night their compound is attacked and this results in the FC being sent to the North Coast with her bodyguard to the Andolini family for safety until those behind the attack are caught. Whilst in hiding the FC realises that at least 2 of the 3 Alphas of the Andolini family are her fated mates. The third, Vinnie, who is head of the family is also her fated mate but she does not realise as Vinnie pushes her away, he doesn‘t want an omega and has a girlfriend. There‘s an enemies to lovers story with a bitchy girlfriend and various dramatic events until those who are trying to take down the FC and her family are caught. There is a HEA.
Heat level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/🍆🍆🍆🍆 - the sex scenes are hot and sexy especially those where the FC is in heat (two scenes) where there is the usual group sex. There are a lot of sex scenes but they don‘t quite take over the story and there is no MM!
The Duet has typo and editing issues and whilst these are not too bad in Book 1 in Book 2 they ratchet up and for me, actually impacted the story and were very irritating. Book 1 started off strong with a Mafia Princess Omega who was likeable, kick ass and could hold her own despite being an omega. I much prefer this type of FC than an omega that is just pathetic, whiny and all about the sex. The FC is funny and quirky. The MCs were each distinctive but stereotypical with the nerdy one, the alpha one, the caring one and the crazy slightly psycho one. However they work well together and are all likeable but strong, protective and caring. The author develops the relationship between the FC and each MC well and the story is engaging with enough happening to keep your attention. There‘s a good amount of drama and excitement but limited angst.
On the whole I enjoyed this Duet and it was better than many of this type of story but it was let down by the lack of editing and beta reading and the fact that there were gaps in the story that jarred for me. The story required more depth and development. For example, there is reference to the Beta losing his fated mate as a result of an attack on the Andolini compound 6 years previously but there is no clarification as to who attacked, why they attacked and whether the perpetrators were caught. The attacks in present time on the compound were a bit one dimensional in that they were exciting but unclear as to what the purpose of the attacks was and they seemed to be resolved very quickly. There was a bit of an indication that the first attack had something to do with information in Arden’s office but nothing came of that. The attacks came across as superficial and manufactured for drama. There seemed to be a real lack of investigation into who was behind the attacks and why there never seemed to be any guards around. There was a lot of focus on the bitchy girlfriend but no real focus on the main villain or his sidekick and a lack of development of the storyline around who was trying to take over and why.
Overall I thought the story had a lot of potential but was let down by the lack of proof reading, rushed storylines and lack of depth.
SYNOPSIS (of Duet): The story is set in the Omegaverse. The FC, Hailee, is the heir to the South Coast mafia but instead of presenting as an Alpha she presents as an Omega. That puts her life at risk as she could be forced to mate with an Alpha. One night their compound is attacked and this results in the FC being sent to the North Coast with her bodyguard to the Andolini family for safety until those behind the attack are caught. Whilst in hiding the FC realises that at least 2 of the 3 Alphas of the Andolini family are her fated mates. The third, Vinnie, who is head of the family is also her fated mate but she does not realise as Vinnie pushes her away, he doesn‘t want an omega and has a girlfriend. There‘s an enemies to lovers story with a bitchy girlfriend and various dramatic events until those who are trying to take down the FC and her family are caught. There is a HEA.
Heat level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/🍆🍆🍆🍆 - the sex scenes are hot and sexy especially those where the FC is in heat (two scenes) where there is the usual group sex. There are a lot of sex scenes but they don‘t quite take over the story and there is no MM!
The Duet has typo and editing issues and whilst these are not too bad in Book 1 in Book 2 they ratchet up and for me, actually impacted the story and were very irritating. Book 1 started off strong with a Mafia Princess Omega who was likeable, kick ass and could hold her own despite being an omega. This book grabbed me by the throat from page one and did not let go.

Kotah Jean blew my mind with her debut romance, it was amazing to read. I love both Omegaverse and mafia, so the joining of these two genres was perfect, plus, why choose?! Even better! We got a omegaverse, fated mates, rejected mates, OW drama, yummy bodyguard and dark mafia. It's the whole package and everything we had no idea we needed, but everything we want! I will say, that cliffhanger, SHEESH girl, it's like expert level of leaving us hanging!

Great Book
I’m so glad there was more to the story than just an omega getting her d on. I started reading this book and then a 3 rd book came out from a series I was waiting for and so I put this one down to read that one but I couldn’t stop thinking about this book. So I stopped that one and came back to this one. The storyline was great! Thought she was gonna be an alpha but turned out she was an omega, so they hid her until she could be safe and secure as the heir to their mafia kingdom. She’s taken back to her bodyguards home pack, and turns out they are her fated mates! Of course one of the guys refuses to see her as anything but her designation and uses that to ignore any warnings from the guys about his current gf, Bianca the Barbie. Bianca is a hoe and is trying her best to get all the guys to like her but Andre and Hunter won’t give her the time of day, just Vinny. Time after time, Bianca goes after the omega and she even scratches herself blaming it on the omega, which Vinny believes but for some reason no one orders Bianca to life the Alpha command off the omega so she could tell her side of the story. Nor do they wonder about her being injected with a premature heat that they all have to deal with after Bianca takes all the guys but Gavin out of the house. I figured she was a family member to one of the lower families in her crime family and I wasn’t wrong. Can’t wait to find out more in the next book!

If this had been my first delving into an omegaverse I'm not sure that I would have been convinced. I got tired of reading the word 'slick' so fast. The author also uses words like 'monster' instead of d!ck and 'life essence' instead of blood. So yeah I guess it was a lot of the word choices that kept me from getting to invested.
The FMC is super clumsy but also somehow good at fighting, hotheaded yet riddled with anxieties and overall pretty immature in my opinion with a crazy bl00dlust that tries to fit but just made me feel weird...and I like pretty dark books.
So yeah we've got her and her bodyguard who kiss once and are really weird about it and then they're suddenly together without a conversation and then she meets her 3 fated alphas and 1 rejects her for stubborn reasons. Who knows. Oh and the other female character is delulu and somehow the rejecter keeps believing her??
We're left on a cliffhanger but since there is a another one and now she is a queen I'm going to assume it all turns out ok. I'm going to give it a few days and see if I decide to keep going.

In all seriousness this book was absolutely phenomenal. I honestly am obsessed with Haylee and her men. I mean how could you not love an FMC that’s a badass with weapons but also as clumsy as a newborn fawn? It’s literally the best of both worlds y’all! (If you sang that in your head you’re my kind of people.)

For a first time author, I am absolutely impressed! This story is great! Haylee is absolute fire! She’s strong, fierce, independent, and totally quirky. I love her! And sweet baby beta Gavin 🖤🖤 Hunter is her match in every way. Vinny needs a dang wake up call. And Arden is sweet and growly.
Bianca needs to get hit by a bus. She’s the absolute worst!
The cliffhanger is brutal but I can’t wait to dive into the rest of the story!

Not a bad novel. I have/had some issues with it.
First, I'm not a big fan of vicious torture scenes. I'm okay with torture scenes that are done well and are tasteful and valuable to the plot; bloodlust is not ideal for me.
Second, Hear, I thought I was getting a strong mafia FMC, but I saw it was a bloodlust freak at times, another time was a sexual freak with slick at all times, or who was just pushed around by a bitch[Bianca].
Third- maybe.. just maybe, have the sex scenes later in the book and not at the of it.[Ch 6]. Gavin was good, but it would have been better for me with the other two near the end. The forced heat as well... I didn't like it, and it was like Kotah just made her female lead into a slut.

I went into this book with high hopes and while I did like it, it didn't quite reach the bar I had set for it. And that's a me issue. I was hoping for a true blend of mafia and omegaverse. But this read more like a mafia romance with small hints of omegaverse. Do mind the CW/TW as there was a lot of blood and gore. The omegaverse was used mostly for the smut aspect.

Seriously surprised
Let me first of say I didn't expect this book to be as good as it. I love the detailed scenes in the play room and the room of horrors. I was worried in the beginning I might not like this book as it went really fast from bodyguard to bf in the beginning. The joking between characters make it the best. I didn't see the twist in the end with Bianca so that was nice. I hate when things are so predictable. I'm sad that we never got a definite answer of what was in the needle. I REALLY enjoy Hunters personality if anything I wish he was slightly more crazy, but the 2 characters compliment each other. I'm excited to read the next book.

i really liked this! the writing felt a little childish at times but the plot was great and it didn't feel too rushed or too dragged out. this is a darker mafia omegaverse. there's haylee, an omega who expected to present as an alpha and her sweet beta bodyguard, galvin. for protection, she moves into a different household, which has galvin's somewhat adoptive brothers, hunter and arden, as well as the stubborn vincenzo. vincenzo has a girlfriend, bianca, who's a danger to haylee. he pretends to hate her but literally falls asleep outside her door during her heat wanking. i didn't realise this was a duet but i'm glad it is.

I love when I hear about a new author, read their book and I fall in love with it immediately. That was the case for this book. Its a spicy, why choose, omegaverse. I'm obsessed with all of the characters. I really enjoyed the storyline, but now I absolutely need to know what happens in the next book. This book was a sit down and read in one sitting for me. I can't wait to see what Kotah Jean brings for the next book. I'm super excited! This was my first omegaverse book and I can tell you it makes me want to read more!

This is the first omegaverse book I have read and it definitely won't be the last. This particular omegaverse story is the first in duet so ends on a cliffhanger, it is a non-shifter, mafia, why choose, dark romance that has some great characters that you will both love and hate. I would class it as a spicy slow burn but once the spice kicks in it is really hot. It has a great storyline with some brilliant twists and I am looking forward to the conclusion in book 2. Overall a great debut novel. Please check your TW though as there are a few.

Amazing!! This book is by a baby author and omg I would never have guessed!! She takes us on an adventure with our FMC getting ready to get her designation of Alpha only to find out that she is an Omega!
So with Gavin her bodyguard/boyfriend they go back to hide where she finds 3 of her fated mates which 2 are there and ready to go and one well he is a bone head!! Very stubborn 🙄.
This ends in a cliffhanger with a villain Barbie and a twist that I hope Barbie gets what is coming!

I liked it. It felt a bit like a teenager living a mafia dream, if you feel me? The mafia components were there, and there were explicit torture scenes which lent credit to her being a mafia princess…but every other aspect of the mafia side was dumbed down. It was a fainter version of what it could have been, and it made it a little disappointing. Oh,
I know…it’s a bubblegum version, that’s it!

This authors debut novel has elevated her to 1-click status for me. One of the absolute BEST omegaverse books that I've ever read. Haylee is everything you want in an omega with some exciting surprises. The story is exciting, enticing, steamy and dreamy while also being gritty and keeping you on the edge of your seat. You're absolutely not ready for all of this awesomeness. I'll see you on the other side.
