This was an amazing read with an actually great twist ending.

Algernon “Algie” Green is the new kid at Graveyard School, and he is immediately welcomed by being terrorised by the school bully: Jason. Jason is constantly playing mean pranks and jokes on Algie. Fortunately for Algie, Jason begans to halt the terrorism of Algie for the sake of the class election. Jason is running for class president so he plays pretend friendly. Meanwhile, Algie, who delivers newspapers across Grove Hill, is mailed a large amount of money from a man named Mr Bates, to deliver the paper to his house. Ecstatic with the money from his new client, Algie tells his new friends at school, and asks for directions to Mr Bates address. Instead of helping Algie, his friends are terrified. They tell Algie of a rumor about Mr Bates. Apparently he isn’t very friendly, and does his talking with his axe!

Positives: this books atmosphere was absolutely unmatched, and the twist ending was completely unexpected.

Negatives: Jason was written really corny and goofy. And just overall not very well written.

This book was an amazing read, I highly recommend.

The series is definitely getting better! I loved the twist ending! I felt bad for Algie. He moves to a new school and Jason decides to be bully of the year by making his life miserable. He luckily makes friends with Kirsten which in turn puts him in connection with Park, Stacey, Maria, Jaws- basically our main kiddos of the series.

Algie has a paper route and he gets a letter with money in advance to deliver a paper out at the old Bates house! Everyone talks about how Mr. Bates is an ax murderer. One time when he’s late, he runs into a headless ghost on a bike.

Me ha tocado leer tres libros de la serie, este entre ellos, muy buena forma de iniciar a los niños en la literatura de terror.
