A full-cast comedy production by the Great Northern Audio Theatre
What if computers ran colleges and nobody came to class? This 1993 mockumentry was so far ahead of its time, it has already happened. The droll documentary style would make Christopher Guest proud.
Jerry Stearns is co-founder, with Brian Price, of Great Northern Audio Theatre, a production company with a focus on lighthearted and comic original stories.
This is a mocumentary of a visit to Solid State University where classes take place in a virtual environment free from any error or direct responsibility. This is a comic interview of the president of the university and the impressions/descriptions of the interviewer.
Is it funny? Yes. It would probably be funnier in person. I can imagine some sight-gags that would enhance the humor of the situation.
It seems unlikely that I will listen to this audio-play again, but stranger things have happened.
