Stan Lee (born Stanley Martin Lieber) was an American writer, editor, creator of comic book superheroes, and the former president and chairman of Marvel Comics.
With several artist co-creators, most notably Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, he co-created Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, Thor as a superhero, the X-Men, Iron Man, the Hulk, Daredevil, the Silver Surfer, Dr. Strange, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Scarlet Witch, The Inhumans, and many other characters, introducing complex, naturalistic characters and a thoroughly shared universe into superhero comic books. He subsequently led the expansion of Marvel Comics from a small division of a publishing house to a large multimedia corporation.
Just learned that there was a mess up with the Peter Parker name and it was Peter Palmer for a certain amount of comics until Lee and co. became aware of it. This comic already set up the ever present Jonah Jameson arc where Spiderman could never do anything right in his eyes. It also sees Parker and May dealing with the fact that uncle Ben is gone and they might have a financial problem. So Parker/Palmer decides to try find a job. Nothing seems to work out for Parker or Spidey as even when he tries to apply at Fantastic 4 headquarters he gets turned down. Will be interesting to see how this story evolves.
The Fantastic Four make an appearance. You realize that Fantastic Four is close to where Spider - Man lives. He wants to joing the Fantastic Four, but the they decline his offer. What? Spider Man was looking for a job, and the work the Four do isn't for money. It's to help fight villains and help others.
A fair start to Spiderman’s journey, and an entertaining villain in the Chameleon; I can’t take how bad at socializing the early peter is: “I need money…I know! Let me just break in to the Fantastic Four’s headquarters! Then, when they find me and try to fight me, I’ll beat the shit out of them! That’ll sure land me a job!”

it was good enough 1963 . I love the atmosphere unfortunately these days ı cant see this ambiance in films or something like that . To think the fact that everythings starting place is here amazing and crazy . İn brief I loved this
I always forget that peter parker was really annoying when he first started as spider-man but the story is really good and chameleon was a good villain for his first story. I really like the old art style and i thought the Peter Palmer misprint was funny.
If amazing fantasy 15 was the perfect introduction to spiderman as a character and his orgin than this is where we get interdouced to the world that would become the back drop to one of the longest and greatest myths in amrician culture
the irony of spending 1/2 of the comic describing the distressed financial situation may and peter palmer are in and finishing it with spidey being a dog of the empire. he could have changed his mind once he saw the hammer and sickle. boooo!
