After Margaret threatens her, Petra has no choice but to go to St. Moritz in the hopes of convincing Emma to terminate her affair with Yara once and for all.
But Yara has her claws deep into Emma and breaking them apart reveals to be much more difficult than Petra anticipated.
The only way out seems to be for her to find someone else for Emma to fall in love with, but it had to be someone perfect.
Someone just as successful and captivating as Yara.
But who?
PART FOUR
Back in Manhattan and reunited with her family, Petra soon realizes that her married life isn’t going to be as peaceful as she’d expected.
Having your best friend hanging out with a world-famous artist has its perks, but there are also some dangerous downsides––especially when you’re the mother to newborn twins.
Even worse, as she tries to navigate through it all, another member of the Van Dieren’s clan is now trying to reconnect at any cost in order to ask her a very peculiar favor.
Regardless of her current grudge against them, is Petra really ready to go right back into the lion’s pit?
Melanie Martins is a digital entrepreneur, travel influencer, and the author of the series "Blossom in Winter", a forbidden love story between a young heiress and her godfather. Her debut novel has been labeled as "wrong", "immoral", and by others as a "masterpiece", "phenomenal" and a "must-read" creating a dedicated, loyal fan base of lovers and haters.
When she is not behind her laptop writing, she can be found globetrotting, reading, daydreaming, and sharing her adventures on Instagram and Facebook
Born in France and raised in Portugal, she currently lives on the beautiful Mediterranean island of Malta and can't get enough of it.
Hands down one of the best series I have ever read. An against-all-odds forbidden love saga gets its extended epilogue in four parts.
💚 I can never seem to get enough of Alexander Van Dieren. The self-assured, enigmatic, calculated, worldly, ruthless, untouchable larger-than-life man brought to his knees by Petra Van Gatt. A love that defies the odds and transcends time, in a tale riddled with secrets, money, power, sex, power, deception intrigue & betrayal. 🤎 Closures and updates on some favorite side-characters Emma, Jasmine, Jasper, Matt and Yara… and hints of new couples to come.
These books just keep going. About as much substance as a saltine cracker, yet, I keep reading. 🫣😅
I thought finishing the Happily Ever After series would be an end to an era, but no. Melanie really wants you to keep reading her books and has no other endings left in her brain other than a cliff hanger. These novellas were OK. A weak plot, even weaker characters and a so/so ending. Yet, there’s just enough action to pique my interest for the next series. Her unrealistic views on life and motherhood have me wanting to pull my hair out, yet, maybe that’s the vibe she was going for. The unrealistic lives of the rich. These books aren’t winning a Pulitzer Prize any time soon, but it’s been a journey following Petra and Alex.
I truly hope Melanie continues to grow as an author. I think she could produce some really great material with a few tweaks to her writing style.
With this last novel the Alex and Petra story ends...so it was a bit bittersweet to say them goodbye.
Anyway this was a hell of a journey and I love both Alex and Petra so much and they had a beautiful but challenging love story. Maybe Melanie will drop now and them other novels about them...you never know...drama has always a way of finding them.
This was the last book in the Blossom in Winter series. I will say I could not put them down. Read all 8 books within a month.
The story itself was different than anything I’ve read. I did not like Petra. Might be the age difference between us. I’m in my 50’s and she’s barely an adult. I tried to keep in mind how young she was and that’s why she acted as she did. Honestly it was very annoying with her tantrums and her thought process. I tried to think of how I would/did act at that age. It was still annoying.
I’m sure that this type of forbidden love happens and others can relate more. Overall though it was a great read with many twists and turns.
Aside from the title, I would not call this a Happily Ever After. This is more of a Content For Now. I am glad there are finally redeemable characters and Emma found happiness, but I still cannot get over the horrible people. It made for an entertaining story, but hard for me to want any of them to succeed.
I really do not want to put myself through the Van Den Bosch series after this. Maybe in the future, but for now, I am tapped out.
Petra is such a hypocrite when it comes to relationships. She thinks it’s ok to set up her friend Emma with someone else just because she doesn’t like Emma’s relationship with Yara. This also goes with Roy and Catherine as well.
Petra will always have it out for Alex’s family for killing her mom.
😮💨 these books drug along…. And then didn’t even have a happily ever after ending! Don’t get me wrong I LOVED the first 4 books and the 3rd one of this part was good but man she should have just made a 5th book instead of the 4 small ones. And then to not give it a proper ending or closer kinda sucked!
These two stories were a little slower paced but had good storylines that definitely held my interest. This was the last of this series but I was excited to find out at the end of the book that the author branched off with this family and started another series with one of the characters. Can't wait to read it and get started on her next series!
I loved this series… this last book though, I honestly dont know how I expected it to end or if there was any other way to possibly end it. It’s not a horrible ending but through all the series there was always a cliff hanger it seemed like, so for it to end like I did I was kind of shocked. Over all I’d give the series 5 stars! Definitely a good read
Even though I want to continue the series I have wait but no worries these characters will make the winding road easy to follow...a definite page turner
This series comes with a warning about strong language and graphic sex. The central character is a spoiled brat who HAS to have her way in everything. The lifestyles of the wealthy are beyond my comprehension. Who pays $15,000,000 for a painting?
Not gonna lie, that was a weird way to end the book but overall I enjoyed it. So happy to see how things worked out for Emma & that Petra & Alex were learning to compromise & communicate. This is an age gap/billonaire romance that keeps you coming back. Don’t forget to check your trigger warnings.
Wow Wow Wow! I hope we still hear about Alex and Petra in the Van den Bosch series! I’ve enjoyed reading this series. It has kept me engaged and enraptured the entire time! Highly recommend this series! 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
This was a nice ending to the 4 book and4 novella series and a great introduction to the spin off series at the end of novella 4. I did miss the love, sexual energy and steamy scenes of Alex and Petra in these novellas.
Petra and Alex my oh my what a phi nominal series. I hated this was the end of the series. I wish it didn’t end. Their love story and the trials they went through to get to where they are was nail bitting. The extra spicy romance was on point. Highly recommend the entire series.
The book was good and entertaining. Yara gets on my nerves and it bothers me that Alex doesn’t step in and stand up for his wife.
Overall would not recommend this series. It was way too long winded, too many unfinished story lines, and the final ending in the novella just felt dumb imo.

Worst ending I’ve read in a really long time. Clearly the author wants you to buy the next 2 books in a series but a book should stands on its own and this one does not. Will not be reading the sequel.
I gave books three and four a four star. There is so much more the writer could have done with the characters. Was slow paced and I had trouble picking it up to finish. Author hinted to the Van den Bosch series. And even that wasn’t very hyped up.
I loved reading this Trilogy series of Happily Ever After. I have now started Melanie Martins new collection, book 1 of 2, Roxanne. Melanie never disappoints....
I can not get enough of this series. I am so happy, I have the VAN DEN BOSCH series, because I need to continue this till the end. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!
Just finished book IV......I like how she opens the door to spinoffs but I am rather disappointed in the Happily Ever After series as a whole. I think I would have been completely satisfied ending with Defying Eternity.
When I started this series I thought we were going to get an summary of how they were doing 5 years or even tens years out for each character nothing what I was expecting
