I liked the story as it shared the simplicity of the Christmas season for plain folk. He's broken hearted because his grandfather left to his younger brother the buggy business that he had worked for years. She's broken hearted because the man she was to marry married an Englisher. But Christmas brings revelations that make things much better.
A grandson’s faithfulness rewarded after all. He realized he had to plan for his future in spite of the opposition of his family to realize his dreams. In the process he met his true love and made it possible for his brother the freedom to follow his own dream.
Five stars, I liked Ruth from the start. I disliked their grandfather forcing the shop , but he thought he was doing the right thing. I liked both of the brothers, Caleb a bit more 😊
Brenda Maxfield, has written book on this subject, when two brothers brothers. One wanting to run the buggy shop left to his brother who didn't want it at all. In this book you see how it plays out. This is a story I think many will enjoy.
On his death bed the grandfather leaves his buggy shop to Ephraim who has never shown any in it. Caleb tries his hardest to teach him everything. Then makes plans to leave the area
This was a wonderful book of how love was able to prevail between Ruth and Caleb in the end. Grandpa got it all wrong when he left the buggy shop to Ephraim instead of Caleb.
Two brothers one shop, one is interested and one is not. Throw a girl into the mix and watch the emotions roll. This neat story will keep you captivated.I liked this story really well , beautifully developed characters and an interesting plot.
