Some secrets should stay buried…

Twenty years ago, Clara’s best friend was brutally murdered. And the killer remains free. Each year on the anniversary of her death, something bad happens to Clara or someone she loves.

She’s convinced the day itself is cursed.

This year is the worst one yet — her husband Shane is arrested for the killing. Not only that, but the arrest reveals a teenage daughter he never told Clara about. And the girl’s mother is accused of the crime along with Shane.

Clara takes in her rebellious stepdaughter while trying to find proof of Shane’s innocence. She relies on old and new allies for help, but when the teen disappears, everyone looks suspect. Including Clara. Not even she realizes just how much danger they are all in.

Can Clara find the real murderer before he finds her?

Lost and Found is a new stand-alone thriller by USA Today bestselling author Stacy Claflin. If you like heart-pounding tension, page-turning suspense, and twist and turns that you never saw coming, then you’ll love Lost and Found.

This is such a good thriller mystery that grabs you from the very start and has you on the edge of your seat the whole read. Imagine thinking that a particular date is cursed as something bad always happens to you on that date and has done for twenty years, well that unfortunately happens to Clara and this April 5th is even worse then the rest! It’s an addictive guessing game throughout the story with its twists and turns and surprises and the tension and suspense absolutely kills you and the ending, well I have no nails left at all!

Clara has had so many extremely bad things happen to her on April 5th - years and years of this. I really enjoyed the storyline and wanted to rally behind Clara as she struggled to be a step mom and clear her husband of murder but she kept making the same mistake - IMO - a really really bad one that could have lasting effects. A great mystery and lots of twists and turns.

😥Friday the 13th or April 5th: which is worse? Fast-paced suspense!

Clara, the wife and mother who's the lead character in this story, just seems plagued by something worse than bad luck, always coinciding with April fifth, and the mysteries of why she can't catch a break drive this whodunit. She is in the midst of tragedies stretching back to her teenage years but there's a lot of collateral damage and now it's her successful businessman husband.

It's a fast read, with a fairly limited number of characters, a strong hook and a good bit of suspenseful action. I have always enjoyed the author's criminal suspense novels, both the Alex Mercer series and her standalone thrillers, and this one kept me well entertained through the frenzied climax and the touching ending.

One of the best things about this and other Claflin suspense stories: the leads are flawed, occasionally weak or foolish, just like ordinary, real people. Clara drinks a bit too much and hasn't learned who to trust. She's also an unlikely candidate for stepmother of the year but circumstances drive her to buckle down and be the strong, indefatigable woman she needs to be to break the curse.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

First, do remember to breathe! This is quite a mystery, twists and suspense. Groundhog day would at least only be one day over and over, this is: Every. Single. Year. Poor Clara! What can she do to break free and why this issue? Claflin is pulling out more and more stops with this one, and I couldn't stop reading it. This book is a stand alone, but don't be shocked if you become totally hooked. There's plenty in this book to get sucked into, and remain happily until the last page, then wait for the author to release more!

My copy is currently an ARC, a positive review is never required. I am looking forward to getting a physical copy as well.

Ms. Claflin has the ability to write stories that totally capture your attention! I have read many of her books and I have enjoyed each one. I only knocked off a star because I figured out who was guilty! How many times does that happen? I usually have a guess but then a twist will throw you off. This story is a stand alone so you don't have to wonder if you missed anything. I think I would like for there to be a continuation of this book because I liked the characters and I'm sure they have other stories they are hiding, if they decide to let Ms. Claflin in on them !
I received a free download of this book from the publisher. This review is my own honest opinion.

Clara dreads April 5th every year. Bad things always seem to happen on that day. Will this year be different? Can she really trust her best friend from high school?
This year is no different but Clara is determined to prove her husband is innocent of murdering her best girlfriend in her senior year of high school.
Stacy writes a good, easy to solve mystery with a few twists and turns. I figured out who the villain was early in the book but the whys and wherefores took to the end of the book.
I enjoy reading her books and look forward to her next one.

Clara thinks she's cursed because almost every year on April 5 something horrible happens to her. Her best friend was murdered, her dad died, her dog was poisoned.. when her husband is arrested for murder while she has to take his teenage daughter in who nobody knew she existed, the worst nightmare starts. Good thing her best friend Jackson is always there for her. If only she knew how to get her hubby out of jail while keeping herself safe! Thrilling until the end.

April 5 is a cursed day for Clara. People don’t believe her, but this year, her husband is arrested for the decades old murder of her best friend and then his daughter they knew nothing about is dropped off in Clara’s care.

I would have recognized the author of this based on the writing style. If you are a fan of Stacy Claflin, you’ll love this. I like the way the chapters are written either by Clara or Willow, the step-daughter. It is an intense ride and I couldn’t put it down!

Really enjoyed getting to know Clara, Shane and their little family, past and present. Hanging out with great friends like Midon and Latasha - their concern, care and honesty was real friendship. Learning about Shane and Clara's high school years - groups - friends (mostly "friends") hang outs etc. gave some in-sight to the mystery thrown in. Netting Willow and her mom explained a lot - clues given with Jackson and Tad, I had my suspicions.

This story grabs your attention and weaves an intriguing plot of murder. Even though you can figure out who the 'bad seed' is about half-way through, you still have to read on to see how it all plays out in the end for everyone. Clara made one too many bad (and foolish) mistakes. I received this book in exchange for an honest review. 4 stars, and I recommend it.

Sometimes, people are not always who they seem to be, and events don't always happen the way you remember. Clara finds this out the hard way. This story was full of twists and turns from beginning to end. Even though I kind of figured out who the bad guy was early on, it was still a great read!

Can a day really be cursed? If you're Clara, you believe it can. April 5th, the worst day in her life - every year and going back as long as she can remember.

This was a fast-paced mystery that kept me glued to the virtual pages.
