Cute!
This book is really more a continuation of the Whisper Valley Valentine Brothers' series. The first four being the "Cocktails & Curves Series". But I do like that she set these next books aside as their own thing. They're still in the same world and in the same town even, but it makes it clear that these Valentine brothers are different from the others. The previous brothers (Kellen, Vaughn, Otis, and Remy) live in the small town of Whisper Valley. And by that, I mean they are a part of the town. They run the bar together, and they're more active in their community.
These cousins of theirs, starting with Dylan in this book, are exactly as series suggests. They're hermits or recluses. They live in Whisper Valley still, and they love their family and will always be there in a pinch. But for the most part, they keep to themselves. They live in the mountains of Whisper Valley, away from people and society. They'll make an appearance every once in a while, but that's it.
I really like Whisper Valley. (Like, is it a real place? Can I go there? Someone provide me a map, I need a vacation soon.)
Don't want to give spoilers, but this series is still operating on the idea that all these Valentine brothers, cousins, etc. are destined to experience a soulwink, and I for one am enjoying watching these men and these curvy women fall into insta-love. (Again, you have to be on board with the insta-love taking place to enjoy the short books in this series. If you're not into that, it won't be for you. But if you are in the mood for that, for low drama and quickly handled drama when it is there, and in the mood for ultra-sugary-goodness... then I highly recommend picking one up.)
P.S.: I don't know that I've mentioned this before, but it concerns the order you read these in. I myself am a tad OCD when it comes to my books. By that I mean that I can't read things out of order. Even if it doesn't matter, I just... I feel wrong if I read something out of order. And I do think this series will read better if you read it in order, starting with "Cocktails & Curves" and going forward from there into this series. That being said... there is absolutely no need for you to read them in order. The other characters all make appearances here and there, and so you will have a moment where someone pops in and you won't know who they are if you haven't read the previous books. But it's not so crucial that you have to read it in order so you can understand what's going on.
