Where i had an hard time to get in the book with book one.
I didnt had it with book 2!
You follow Cali Bishop, Anna, Cole and Prince Storm in this story. they are all back for their second year at Netherworld Academy.
After a traumatic end to their first.
Cali is still up against It.
With her attacker still out there.
And being relentlessly tormented by Brandon.
Who wasn’t really expected to return this term.
And then it gets worse.
The charcters are all developing bit by bit great.
we are more getting to know about the background of the academy.
What is also very great.
Because i had some questions about that after i've read book one.
And they are all answered.
In my opion you should really read this serie!

So first stop - if you haven't read the 1st book in The Netherworld Academy series - Legacy, I would suggest all potential readers to do that to get a better orientation of character growth and context, if the first book is read.
Moving on, if you have read my review about Legacy, you would all know that I practically devoured and loved the book !! So it isn't a big surprise that I actually decided to read the second book in the series. For those who haven't read, Legacy features protagonist and half blood Cali - half human and half vampire who joins the Netherworld academy on her dad's insistence. Her life there and the things that follow once she joins and submerges into the supernatural part of her life is what the story is all about. Book 2 - Secrets in this series continues from the cliff hanger ending of the first book and deals with the encounters and events that Cali and her friends become a part of - both knowingly and unknowingly. The ending is another cliffhanger which will definitely make you want to read more.
All the protagonists experienced tremendous growth in this title with increased bonding while the degree of animosity also grew as well. It was a treat experiencing the same along with the leads. However just like the previous book this book too experienced the absence of strong fantasy history background. When compared to Book 1 , this book did cover a little of the Netherworld history but left behind so many unanswered questions. Likewise some aspects introduced in the story appeared a little pointless and ended up being an unanswered loophole. Hopefully they may be solved in the next book Nevertheless can't wait to know more about Cali in the next books to follow.

I was so excited to receive this book as an advanced reader copy from BookSirens because I absolutely loved the first book and couldn’t wait to continue the story. This book definitely had plenty of suspense and there were more threads of story being introduced but I’m not sure it really drove the story much more ahead than the previous book did until right at the end. This and the fact that I’m not really feeling Cali and Cole as a couple stopped this from being a 5 star for me. He feels quite expendable as a character which isn’t how I want to be feeling about the main characters love interest in the second book of a series, I want to be rooting for them as a couple but I just don’t have any enthusiasm for the pairing at all. I’m looking forward to some of the mysteries being explained in the next book but I would also like to see some of the other characters being developed more as well. All in all, I’m eagerly waiting the next installment though.

What a roller coaster of a ride!! So many twists and turns..plus the suspense. It definitley was a page turner and I loved every word of it! Cali and Anna are the best of friends to each other. They support each other the best way they can and help each other up. Storm and Cole are awesome in their own ways. They help the Cali and Anna and re supportive boyfriends.
There are secrets all around and trying to figure it out is a great mystery. Some questions will be answered and others won't. More questions arise of course. More questions unanswered. The next book will have more answers hopefully. Especially with how this book ended. I can't wait to read the next book!!

I received this book for an honest review. This is the follow up to to Legacy. This book follows Cali during her second year at Netherworld. Things are much different this year as they are locked down to to the risk Angelina represents. This was a good sequel. It was well written and well paced. I enjoyed the story and the girls process through their sorority initiation. However, I did find it was slow in places. I kept waiting for the usual Academy activity to happen 9Storm falling off the roof, the adventures with the hunts etc). But otherwise it's a good read. Another cliffhanger though……. :)

Secrets is Book 2 in The Netherworld Academy by Lisa Cardwell. Secrets begins with year 2 at the Academy. Angelina has not been found and security at the Academy is tight. Prince Storm, Cole, Anna, and Cali are back at school. Lisa Cardwell writes exciting stories and the sequel is just as good as Legacy. I felt that one of the things that made Book 2 exciting was the “secrets” that are unveiled in the story. I can’t wait to read book 3 and discover what happens next! I received an arc for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.

Secrets picked up right where legacy left off- dropping us into the twists and turns of a convoluted web of secrets that all connect back to Cali.
There was a lot of information dropped in book 2, but at no point did it feel info-dumpy. The characters are engaging and have great development so far, definitely making you need more.
The only part of the plot that I'm conflicted on is the relationship between Cali and Cole- I'll come back to touch more on this after another read through, though. Right now it's just my gut feeling that there is something there.

This was a great second book in the series! I loved seeing the friendship develop between the four main characters, Anna, Cole, Cali and Storm. I think the chemistry and dynamic between them was very realistic. They have gone through unimaginable things together and still have more to come. I did feel like this book lacked some of the action and intensity of the first book but it was still fantastic to read.

This is the 2nd book in the series. I thought it was great as the characters are developed more and you get to know them more. The mystery is still there waiting to be solved and knowing there are people who Cali cannot trust except for her closest friends Anna, Storm and Cole. I love the mystery and can’t wait for the next book Choices!

The story is a good second book in the series. The book is a good, and enjoyable coming of age paranormal romance read. The story has a good story line. This is even better than the first book, the friendships are developing, they are developing as characters and the secrets are getting even better. Very excited for the next one

A really great read, picking up from where book 1 left off and takes us back into this amazing story. I absolutely enjoyed reading this!!
