stupid
ML kills MC’s guardian and friend in the first chapter and she’s already hot for him in the next chapter. That tells you everything about what to expect. Horrible romance with a stupid and useless protagonist.

Great character building!
Terrific job of both world building and characters. Nicky lost her memories of much of her past. It takes much to bring them back: magic and strife.

couldn’t get into it
I have to feel empathy or some thing for the heroine of the book to really enjoy it. After 180 pages I was still disliking the character so I gave up.
