General Kai cannot believe the naivety of the humans. From his cloaked ship the Dragan Warlord watches them walk straight into a trap — but when he sees there are females among their numbers, his throat tightens with anger.
Females should be protected. Treasured. Worshiped.
Especially one as beautiful as her. The one with the red-hair and the green eyes. Her human physique — so different from what he is used to, so soft and curvy — awakens strange, new feelings inside the powerful warrior.
Forbidden feelings.
The Emperor forbids taking a non-Dragan as a pleasure-mate.
And yet, this human female needs Kai’s protection… and Kai needs her touch more than he’s ever needed anything in his life.
Can the alien general truly risk everything for this human female?
This was beyond insta. I mean for “smart” people they have no sense of self preservation besides just oh sexy guy let me put my mouth on you in your sleep which please I met you 5 seconds ago sleep naked with me I feel safe.
Reconozco que aunque no es una mala historia esperaba más. Es lo que me suele pasar con esta autora que sus historias siempre me dejan esperando más de lo que me encuentro, aunque siempre acabo volviendola a leer.
Hero’s past isn’t mentioned and neither was heroines. Uncertain if she was a virgin or if she had spread her legs for another and been broken in by someone else. It didn’t come off as if the hero was claiming her exclusively tho. No others, no cheating or abuse. Unsatisfactory HEA because 1) no babies 2) no resolution to their Union and 3) no long term epilogue
Gonna read one more book in this series before I give up on it.
...just bad. Aliens with space-tolerant skin? Who refer to their genitals as " c@#ks"? Oh my word. But it was entertaining. And funny. And the women were really real, complete with genius IQ's and all. So those things are nice. The cause of their entrapment was a seriously cool plot twist. Just read, you will see what I mean. Bipeds are cool! Lol 7/10 unicorns, mostly because it was entertaining, had no typos, and pulled me out of a horrible bad mood. Recommend for KU.
I don’t mind fast burners but when the leads are immediately in love and can’t live without each other within 24 hrs of meeting one other, it feels rushed to me. I also personally can’t get into a story where the male lead’s pride and joy is too big to do regular sexual things. I also don’t like when the female lead’s “strength” or “determination” is constantly displayed by defiant/rebellious behavior. However, some readers like things like that and this story is better suited for them.
There are some writing errors and grammar errors that effect how you read details. Sadly this novella is SHORT. I knew that going in but that means you jump in balls deep so be prepared. I did love how Kai and Astra became romantically involved.
I really enjoyed this book and I laughed out loud in so moments when the fiesty human meets the sexy Alien that makes all her girly parts wake up. Astra Gray joined the USS Frontier on a 6 months exploratory mission but something is wrong but the captain isn’t saying anything so Astra hacks into Captain Langston computer and finds out that they are stuck in some vortex that’s using up all there power and if they don’t find a source of power they will all die. The Captains plan is to drill on the asteroid belt to get the fuel they need but it’s dangerous and speaking up gets Astra on the crew with others and her best friend Harper. General Kai has been watching the funny ship while clocked and when they see the humans land on the asteroid he knows they stupid and they have sent females as well and don’t they know it’s arachnid nesting place now Kai cannot sit back he must save them but when they arrive the men have been killed and the females cocooned for laying eggs in. All Astra hears is the screaming in her com and then nothing but before she can say anything huge spiders surround them and the men get killed and they are taken but the last thing she remembers is the big blue man saving them. Kai doesn’t understand why he feels so protective of the firery red head but he does and with her in his arms his whole body ignites with a burning desire to mate with her even though it’s not aloud. After they try to escape and Astra hits him she is taken to his quarters and on the way he kisses her and soon they are making out but they get interrupted. And in that moment they are destined to be together but they haven’t figured it out yet. Better stop now I’m giving to much away but if you want a good read and these books are your thing than this book is for you.
There wasn't much plot to this smutfest, the MFC is a biologist who just happens to be gorgeous AND a brilliant, save-the-world-level computer programmer, and both of the leads were so overcome by lust that common sense, responsibility and duty went out the window - often at inappropriate times. The MMC says to the MFC: I should interrogate the prisoner, I should talk to my men, explain my decisions, I should check the damages on the third level, there’s a thousand things that beg for my attention, but then I see your big tits, my little human, and all I want to do is this. Not very impressive given that the MMC was a military commander and this speech came right on the heels of a battle. There were also quite a few grammatical mistakes and constant shifts in verb tense from past to present which became annoying, and the aliens tossing out English colloquialisms ("whatever!") was jarring.
Kai is a Dragan warlord and commander of his ship. When he spots a human vessel head straight for disaster he's not sure he should step in until he notices that there are women in trouble and then he can't help but lend a hand.
The humans are off course and stuck in some sort of spatial anomaly and so are the other ships in this area. But when he meets Astra, he feels a pull towards her even though his emperor would forbid their relationship.
There's a great twist in what's causing the spatial anomaly and how they have to work together with the enemy in order to get free. Oh and don't get me started on the huge, evil, flesh eating, alien spiders! I don't mind the thought of aliens visiting Earth but they better not come looking like enormous insects.
I really liked the ending and how things worked out.
An enjoyable quick and sexy sci-fi romance, featuring humans lost in space, and the Dragan warriors that rescued them. This story is an entertaining one, but I had to take a star off because the tense kept changing from present to past and back again for no reason. It was only really in the last part of the book, but I found it a little distracting. Otherwise the story was engaging, the premise interesting, the characters intriguing, and I have every intention of reading the other books in the series.
Kai and Astra turned out to be a cute couple in this first book of the Astral Mates series. I liked the story line of this fairly short read. I liked that Astra was a strong intelligent female and that those qualities were valued and appreciated by Kai. He wasn't overly Alpha, and was mature enough to admit that he was wrong and that he needed her. It was kind of refreshing. Not all alien love stories should start out with broken characters and the level of mental maturity in both characters was unusual. It made it a good book!
Kai a blue alien, big, advanced, intelligent, powerful and striking,is the commander on his spaceship. Astra is a very pretty redheaded, fiery, intelligent and strong woman on a earth spaceship, the USS Frontier, sent to explore space for six months. Her ship is commanded by a vain Captain Eythor Langston who talks a good talk but would destroy or use anyone who stood in his way. He seems to have no morals. Kai and Astra meet when she is sent with others to an undisclosed planet to mine for fuel in the form of precious crystals. He saves her life.
Umm.. Short and quick read..90% smut and 10% whatever else.. lol it was an ok read I didn't love it and I didn't hate it.. I did like how Astra seemed to flourish for Kai because in the beginning she seemed more robotic in character but she really seemed to liven up when she meets Kai.. Style of writing is different from what I'm used too and I didn't really care for it.. Am I going to read more of this series? maybe.. Would I read it again? probably not.. All in all it was an ok read..
A great start to a new series! This first book is tantalizing and easy to get into. The characters were interesting and definitely had issues to resolve. There were some interesting twists, and the action was realistic, you know, for a sci-fi kind of love story. The one-on-one action heats up pretty quickly, but I'm wondering if there really are only four women on this human vessel? I'm intrigued enough to want to read more in the series to find out!
Luna Hunter has written another good story. I've read some of her other books and always found them to be enticing and interesting. This book has a special significance to me also, I have not 1 but 2 grandsons with Kai as their names. Besides that, this book was Interesting and entertaining. I found that the characters realistic and as with all Aliens, hard working, handsome and sexy as hell.
Humans have made it to space and are exploring it. Then out of nowhere they are stuck in a loop, just going in circles for months. Running out of fuel and about to starve they come across the fuel they need but before they can start to drill huge space spiders attack them. Kai is watching the humans in surprise because he knows about the space spiders. Can he save the humans and then what will happen when they meet? Recommend this book.
I enjoyed the story it’s moves along at a nice pace. I liked the main characters and the way Luna writes how they make each other feel when they are with there mate. I am not talking about the sex, which there is a lot of. I particularly thought removing of his bedroom walls was very romantic. I don’t want to say too much about it and give away what was done.
Three different ships. Three different species. All trapped in location . Escape impossible. No matter how hard they try to navigate to another spot, they all wind back to the same spot n location as they originally found themselves before, like something or someone is holding them suspended in space.
The story was what you might expect from an alien romance. Unfortunately, it was hard to enjoy when every page had missing words, typos and incorrect grammar. I know this isn’t a work of literature but an editor was desperately needed. I’ll try the next book in hopes the author hired an editor.
As usual Ms. Hunter writes a story that encompasses your emotions fully! Stellar story telling weaves a love affair that not only steals your heart it captures your attention on every page! Magnificent characters!
Good start to a series and looking forward to read Tyr and Harper and Rylee and Vidar's books. Astra pissed me off a but by acting so bossy and Kai doing what she tells him...oh well all turned out good in the end.
Astra's character is a brilliant and compassionate human female who catches the General Kai's eyes. Astra causes the General to listen and need her advice and perhaps save the day.
I enjoyed reading the story. Things happened a bit quicker than expected, but there is only so much time in a book. The characters H and h were both portrayed as strong and stubborn, especially the human female!
The first book in the Astral Mates series. A great start to this series. General Kai and human Astra Gray's story of suspense, drama, danger, villains and romance. I want to read the next book. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I love some of Ms. Hunter’s books, and this is a new series that looks promising, but it isn’t. The plot was okay, but I could not feel the love between the main characters; everything was just so rushed. I will recommend this as a filler.
It wasn’t great but certainly not bad. I enjoyed the read, towards the end there was a little bit of paragraph skipping. Not sure if I’ll move to next book, but more than likely. I would have preferred a little more action.
I enjoyed the story , the world building and the characters. It was interesting to read about Kai and his utter fascination with his little human. I’m glad they got their HEA for now.
Having read ninety percent of this authors work you can definitely start seeing some overlap in plots and such. However, that doesn’t detract from enjoying the book. Growly, possessive alien alpha with a big D that loves curves?? Hard to go wrong there.
This was a fun book to read. The story was interesting and the characters were fun to read about. I really enjoyed reading this book. I look forward to other books in this series.
This story was a Great read. Just the right flow, speed it kept me really entertained. If you like this kind of story of romance then you should like this one.
