In Enid Blyton's highly popular school series, Elizabeth Allen is at boarding school. She's tried being the naughtiest pupil there, but now she's got a new challenge...In book four, there's a new boy in Elizabeth's class. He's sulky and grumpy and he'll do anything to show Elizabeth up. She means to keep her temper, but it's not so easy for someone who was once the naughtiest girl in the school...Between 1940 and 1952, Enid Blyton wrote four novels about Naughtiest Girl, Elizabeth Allen. Books 5-10 are authorised sequels of the series written by Anne Digby in 1999. Bonus A rare, complete serial story about a very special school. An interview with Enid Blyton about her school days. Enid Blyton's experiences as a teacher. A timeline of the author's life. Photos from Enid Blyton's younger days.
Enid Mary Blyton (1897–1968) was an English author of children's books.
Born in South London, Blyton was the eldest of three children, and showed an early interest in music and reading. She was educated at St. Christopher's School, Beckenham, and - having decided not to pursue her music - at Ipswich High School, where she trained as a kindergarten teacher. She taught for five years before her 1924 marriage to editor Hugh Pollock, with whom she had two daughters. This marriage ended in divorce, and Blyton remarried in 1943, to surgeon Kenneth Fraser Darrell Waters. She died in 1968, one year after her second husband.
Blyton was a prolific author of children's books, who penned an estimated 800 books over about 40 years. Her stories were often either children's adventure and mystery stories, or fantasies involving magic. Notable series include: The Famous Five, The Secret Seven, The Five Find-Outers, Noddy, The Wishing Chair, Mallory Towers, and St. Clare's.
According to the Index Translationum, Blyton was the fifth most popular author in the world in 2007, coming after Lenin but ahead of Shakespeare.
Blyton's books are never very long but this final* Naughtiest Girl book is so short it only just creeps out of the realm of the short story. As a result, there's not a huge amount of plot here. What there is is fine but it ended just as it was getting going.
* Yes, I know there are several more books in the series but they were written by other authors after Blyton's death and really don't interest me.
I listened to this as an audio book. Here's the Naughtiest Girl was the last book in the series written by Enid Blyton. Although this is a naughtiest girl book, the book is centred on the new boy Patrick who is Julian's cousin. Patrick is a spiteful boy who thinks he is better then Julian. He is jealous of Julian who is always top of the class and good at tennis.
They both compete with each other to see who will be top of the class but Patrick cannot keep up.
When the rest of the class send him to Coventry, he decides to runaway.
This is a short, cute, silly and yet heartwarming book.
Anyway, saya cukup memberi 3 bintang untuk buku ini karena this one is too short so I feel like everything is a bit rushed and too many telling rather than showing. Still it feels good to come back to Ms. Blyton's world even if it just for a while.
This is the fourth and final of the Enid Blyton written books in the Naughtiest Girl series, after which Anne Digby takes over. It's a short 80pg novella actually.
The students return to Whyteleafe again and the novella introduces Patrick, Julian's competitive cousin who promptly starts trying to outshine him and Elizabeth. The novella follows the rivalry mostly.
I liked the book but it felt a bit rushed. Not my favourite book so far but that's ok. Doesn't hurt the series at all. Most of Digby's books seem to be short too, so could make more sense together with those.
Bercerita tentang keseharian Elizabeth, siswa sekolah asrama campuran.

Entah menurutku maga baget.
Buku terakhir sekaligus yang paling tipis dari Serial Elizabeth Allen a.k.a Si Badung. Dalam buku ini diceritakan tentang konflik Elizabeth ALlen dan Julian (who turns out to be the best student in class) dengan Patrick, sepupu Julian.
Another fun story, about Elizabeth Allen and her naughty school days. We have our fair share of Julian, Joan and Arabella, as well as the other characters from Enid's other books here. It also introduces Patrick, Julian's cousin. As always there are complaints and grumbles, meetings and delicious dinners. Seriously never read Enid on an empty stomach, you start craving the weirdest things!
I realized I haven't reviewed this and the following books in this series that was continued on by Anne Digby, despite them featuring in my favorite childhood books, so I thought why not end a holiday by binge reading? If you enjoyed the previous titles, you'll probably like this one too. Five stars!
This was new to me - never read it before. It's a very short book compared to the other Naughtiest Girl books but I believe it was originally a story in an anthology or something. It was nice to have a bit more time with the characters as I liked these books a lot, and all the ones after this point aren't written by Enid Blyton. I'm going to read the next one just to see what it's like though.
This book is the last Enid Blyton wrote in the series it was then taken over by Anne Digby. This one is really short and centres around a new boy in Elizabeth's class who takes a dislike to her and her to him and she tries to keep her temper and tries to be good but finds that extremely difficult. Again this was extremely short and a quick read and again I didn't really enjoy it.
I think this series is less well-known than Blyton's other two boarding school series (Malory Towers and St. Clare's), but it's a quite interesting and enjoyable read for children.
Unlike the more traditional girl schools in the other two series, the school in the Naughtiest Girl series, Whyteleafe, is a "progressive" boarding school, co-educational, and run as a democratic community, with the children governing themselves with some adult supervision. It's apparently inspired by a real-life school, Summerhill, which was founded in 1921.
This particular entry in the series is actually a novelette rather than a regular book. Elizabeth again a monitor, and the conflict is provided by the arrival of a new boy who is Julian's cousin, but who seems rather surly and spoiled.
The resolution is a bit quick because of the short length, but nevertheless this is an enjoyable story in the same style as the three previous books.
This is the last Naughtiest Girl story Enid Blyton wrote. There are more books but they are continuation novels written by a different writer.
Patrick came to Whyteleafe thinking it would be a great chance to beat his cousin Julian at everything - but Julian had turned over a new leaf and was top of the form and even good at tennis too! As Julian’s friend and form Monitor, Elizabeth couldn’t help getting involved - but trust the Naughtiest Girl to do things differently…
This is really a short story, but it’s the last of Enid Blyton’s own Naughtiest Girl books. Some familiar themes as Patrick has to learn to adjust to Whyteleafe and his problems are not unsympathetically drawn. Elizabeth, no plaster saint but sometimes carried away by her feelings, is always an attractive heroine and here she is very believable as she mixes trying to do her monitorly duty with her dislike of Patrick and realisation of how things seem from his point of view. The way Patrick, Julian and Elizabeth reconcile without any big scene involving the Head Boy and Girl or staff is a departure from other NG books but it makes a nice change to have this happen in a way that said authorities would probably disapprove of.
Sekolah Whyteleafe kedatangan murid baru bernama Patrick.
Its a very short novella.. it was like fast forwarding your way through a movie. I recently came to know with some surprise that there was a fourth installment of the Naughtiest Girl series penned by Enid Blyton but I realise why it is not considered a part of the series. It's easy too small. But still, we get to meet Elizabeth again and the story is just about how she and Julian manage to come to terms with Julian's cousin Patrick, the new not of the summer term. Good fun but oh so little..
Final book by Blyton in this series (Some other person wrote another six books but they are not the original series) anyway little more than a short story with little plot and little else to say about it, almost superfluous, but hey if you are really missing the characters that much go nuts and enjoy what you can out of the last dregs of this series.
Wah tidak terasa sudah selesai saya membacanya. Kisah Elizabeth di buku ini pendek saja. Seperti biasa, Elizabeth punya masalah lagi dengan anak baru. Kali namanya Patrick. Yuk dibaca 🤭
There was a new boy named Patrick and he was a naughty one, he was Naughtiest boy so Elizabeth was to scold him in the night but suddenly a message flew from cupboard and it was from Patrick and he was locked inside cupboard and that was funny.. ..........I enjoyed reading it.🙃🤟🙃😄🤣
