Their relationship has been nothing but loose goats, a leaking roof, and her complete humiliation after he pays her mortgage so she won’t lose her farm. Travis wants to go back in time and start over with Poppy, but he doesn’t know how. Can a small town speed-dating event get their second chance off on the right foot?
Travis Thatcher has found his life’s calling as a cowboy. After leaving behind his big-city life as an investment banker, he’s finally sure of who he is and what he wants. He’s been trying to get in the good graces of the woman who owns the farm next door, Poppy Harris. They’ve had a rocky past, especially when she thanks him for being a good friend and neighbor.
He doesn’t want to be either of those. Well, he does, but Travis wants more. He wants to take care of Poppy and her son, and his protective streak and ability to care for them physically, emotionally, and financially won’t stop needling him.
As they start to spend more time together, both on and off her farm, Poppy comes to see how good Travis’s intentions were – and still are.
But she’s got a lot of baggage and an extremely proud streak, and she’s not sure if she can let the handsome cowboy into her life and onto her farm. It’s always been the one safe place for her and her son.
Will Travis be able to make his fourth date into forever? Or will their relationship be doomed because of a past good deed Poppy didn’t want?

The series is a wonderful series for you get to stay involved with the family. In this one is Poppy and Travis. Poppy is a single mom, owner of her own ranch, which she almost lost. And there is Travis who is totally in love with her. At one of the fun events in the town single gets together to find them a match. Well you guess it Poppy and Travis gets together. Now read to travel down their road to see if they are a perfect match! This road makes you wonder!
Love Ivory Peaks! Glad that these stories keep us updated about all the family. Poppy and Travis have a rough road. Poppy has relied solely on herself to get things done and is having a lot of trouble allowing herself to accept help from anyone, but especially Travis. I really enjoyed reading this one. I received a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest review.
His Fourth Date is an unusual story of a couple that has a problem with ego. You would think it was Travis, however it was Poppy. She wanted to have to take care of all the work on her farm, her son, and work a regular landscaping job for Elise. Poppy has goats that love to get out and comes next door to the Hammond's farm. Travis has been bringing them back and when one day it was raining and Poppy was in the barn she was beautiful. He thought Poppy was crying because she had a leaking barn crying as she was behind on her mortgage and not able to fix what needed fixing. Travis moved to Colorado after leaving the business world in New York and he seen her bills on a cork board by the back door. He decided to pay up her mortgage to save her farm. Then he fixed the roof on the barn and brought some cowboys from next door and they cleared the old moldy hay out of her barn. All things she should have been grateful about. But when she received the mortgage showing the back payments were paid up and paid till the first of the year she went next door to Grey to chew him out. He didn't know what she was talking about. She knew then it must be Travis but didn't think he would have that kind of money. She called him out at the Hammond's Thanksgiving and put him in in his place.
A year later Poppy decided it was time to date again. She went to the speed dating event they had in town and who did she run into but Travis. They agreed to go out to eat and start dating. They were perfect for each other. But Poppy let her ego get in her way and would chew Travis out for helping do things without being asked. Poppy was very hard to allow anyone to help her except her son. Travis finally said he needed to be needed. And if she didn't need him to help her then it was over. After 3 weeks she misses him so much she calls and pretends her refrigerator needs fixing. When he and Cord got there to fix it she told him she just needed Travis in her life. From there everything started to turn around.
Poppy was a single mom living on her ranch next door to the Hammond ranch. No matter how hard she worked, there just wasn’t enough of her to go around and keep everything up. Travis was retired from his prosperous job as an NYC investment banker in favor of living a different kind of life as a ranch hand with the Hammonds. When he learned Poppy was unable to pay her mortgage and might lose her farm, he secretly paid it for her. And she was furious when she found out. Months later these two unlikely people hit it off when they attended a speed dating event. There was an attraction but will it be enough to help them with their issues of Poppy’s pride and Travis’ need to protect and provide for her and her son? It wasn’t easy but what’s the fun in easy? I loved this new installment in the Ivory Peaks series. The author focused on one couple but there were lots of updates about characters from earlier books. This book can be enjoyed as a standalone but I recommend you start at the beginning to fully enjoy reading it. I received an ARC and this voluntary review contains my honest opinions.
I borrowed His Fourth Date: A Hammond Family Farm Novel ~ Ivory Peaks ~ Book 4 from the Kindle Unlimited Program.
I like that this series includes updates on the previous couples that connects each book in a continuing story line. His Fourth Date is the story of the billionaire cowboy, Travis Thatcher and Poppy Harris the owner of the small farm next door to the Hammond Family Farm. It starts with a dating evening where the couples have short dates in rotation around a table and Poppy is Travis's fourth date.
Poppy has worked her farm for many years and raised her son alone for years and is very independent. Travis brings her escaped goats home each time, helps her with her mortgage when he finds out she is in danger of loosing her farm and does repairs without her permission. He just wants to be needed and Poppy wants to keep her independent ways. It takes communication and compromising by both of them to find a happy ending.
Loved, loved, loved Travis' and Poppy's story! Travis has helped Poppy out on several occasions before, with loose goats, a leaking roof, he's ready and able to help! So why does Poppy reject him and his offers of help? Travis wants a wife and family and turns to the town's speed-dating event to find an eligible woman. But when Poppy surprisingly shows up at his table, will she reject him or go out with him? And how many times can Travis handle Hetty's lukewarmness and rejection? An enjoyable and heartwarming story. Great to see characters from past stories included. Ms. Isaacson's stories always draw me in with her descriptions and great storytelling! A clean cowboy romance that I recommend! I received a complimentary ARC of this book and have voluntarily given my honest opinion in this review.
Great Series! The relationship between Poppy and Travis started out strained when he paid her mortgage—without asking her first. But he really likes Poppy, her work ethic, her dedication to her son, everything about her. He had the means to help and did. Of course Poppy was furious. So Travis tries a community wide speed dating event and meets up with Poppy again. They really like each other but Poppy is so independent she has a hard time letting anyone help in any way. You will love the way Liz Isaacson develops the relationship between these characters and the way the characters depend on faith to deal with problems. Of course the Hammond family is there and you will catch up with all of them. It is great the way the their cowboys are a part of the extended family. Don’t miss this new, clean, and inspirational story!
This book could have used another round of editing because there are some obvious errors. I know you see there is still a five star rating and that is because the book is just that good. Poppy has had a difficult time an has a lot of issues. She and her ex boyfriend purchased a farm next door to the Hammond farm. When she became pregnant her boyfriend decided he wanted nothing to do with the child or her. Fatherhood frightened him so he abandoned them. She raised her son alone for many years. The past year has been the most difficult but Travis, a cowboy from the Hammond farm stepped in and helped her. They both met up at a speed dating function in town and decided to try dating. Travis keeps wanting to help her around the farm and Poppy cannot bring herself to be pleased with him. Will Poppy ever be able to trust Travis and let him into her life?
I really loved this book! Poppy is fiercely independent, but all Travis wants to do is help her with whatever she is facing. Their past includes Poppy yelling at him every time he helps her out with something on her farm, but when they meet at the speed dating event, Travis grabs the opportunity to develop a friendship with her, with the hope it will become more. Will Poppy ever bend her stubborn pride enough to see Travis for what he is...a helpful, generous soul? Or will their budding relationship do down in flames? I thoroughly enjoyed the peeks at what the other Hammond family and farm hands were experiencing during the time of Poppy and Travis having their relationship. It was like coming home to a place that was near and dear to my heart! I received an ecopy of this book from the author. All opinions in this review are my own.
I love Ivory Peaks, all the family and friends, it’s a place that would be fun to live. Poppy is a single mom who owns the small farm next to the Hammond farm. Her goats get out constantly and Travis is the one to always return them to her. She runs on hard times and is about to lose her farm when someone steps in and makes up the payments for several months. She does not like that, she is independent and doesn’t want charity. Travis is working on the Hammond farm just for something to do. The more he helps her it seems the angrier she gets. It takes Travis walking away and a lot of prayer and support from her family to help her realize that it is ok to accept help and love. Travis and Poppy’s story is so sweet. This is a wonderful family saga that I can’t get enough of, Liz writes such wonder stories.
Travis has decided that he's ready to start dating again, he likes Poppy, from the next farm but she wasn't happy with him when he paid her mortgage when her alfafa crop failed. He goes to the local event, where the first one is speed dating, who should be there but Poppy, they have a good evening together. Trouble is Poppy is a very independent woman, she doesn't want any help at all, even when she needs it, and Travis is trying to show her that he wants to marry her, by being needed. A recipe for disaster, especially when you put Steele into the mix, who hasn't had a father and likes being with Travis. Can they sort their differences? Will Poppy let go of her pride and allow Travis in?
Liz Isaacson's "His Fourth Date: A Hammond Family Farm Novel (Ivory Peaks Romance Book 4)", is best Understood if 📖 in Chronological Order. I ❤️ getting caught up on the Hammond's Storylines. I ❤️ Travis Patience with Poppy, & her 🐐 s.
Travis is drawn to Strong, Independent Poppy. But will she every return his 💗? Poppy sees accepting "help" from others, as a sign of weakness. How does God help bring her get the emotional healing she needs? Will Poppy and Travis relationship end in a Lifetime💞? I Highly Recommend You 📖 this Great, Page-Turning, Western, Christian Romance, with Real, Warts-and-All Characters, to find the answers! ❤️ed 📖ing ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Another great story of healing, forgiveness and restoration. As Travis and Poppy navigate their individual insecurities to find love, they are supported and encouraged by the Hammond family and those who have become a family on their farm. Poppy has been self-sufficient since her son was born and has a hard time accepting help from anyone. Travis just wants to be needed and to make her life easier, but she resists. I love that we get to see the continuing stories of Hunter and Molly and Matt and Boone Whettstein's families. No one writes wedding scenes like Liz. I look forward to Michael and Gerty's story.
Great clean book. Wonderful characters and clean storyline. Love all Liz Isaacson’s books! Travis works on the Hammond farm next to Poppy’s farm. She is a single mom trying to make ends meet. They both join a local speed dating event. On the fourth “date” they decide to leave together to go to dinner and talk. They have known each other for a while, but have had some issues when Travis tried to help her in the past. They are both hoping to find someone to share their future with. Will this relationship lead to something permanent? *I received this book for free for my unbiased review.
I feel like I’ve been to a family reunion. So many old friends along with the younger generation. Liz Isaacson is a expert on families. She draws us in with captivating story lines, interesting characters, humor, romance and even a mystery or two. She shows us our problems aren’t unique and that they have solutions, you just have to look for them. Travis and Poppy have a tough path to follow. She has prickles hidden like a mine field. Thankfully Travis is patient and prays. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the next one even though it is hard to realize the littles are growing up.
This book made me laugh, tear up, and touched my heart. I was so excited to read Travis and Poppy's story after reading the teaser in the previous book, and I was not disappointed. Like all Liz's books, once you start, you can't stop until you reach the extremely satisfying HEA. These characters (there are a lot of them, and they're great) are like family to me. I have enjoyed getting to know them more in every story, and I love how Liz brings in chapters from previous main character POV's so you can connect with them again.
I highly recommend this book and all of the Hammond Family Farm ones.
This story was great! Enjoyed reading about the lives of so many. The continuing adventure of the Hammond Family too! Travis and Poppy have a few ruffles in their courtship, though they do overcome those with patience, understanding, support and love. Interesting how the author captures farm life and the animals to document the responsibilities that fall on owning or working a farm or ranch. I enjoyed Poppy's love for flowers. Her spirit and love of raising her son. Travis captures her heart and that of her son's. He also supports and loves his friend, Cort. Just a heartwarming story.
Asking for and accepting help are not easy to do. It might be because I have such a hard time with them, myself, that Poppy rubbed me the wrong way for so much of this book. My heart broke for Travis at all the ways he was showing Poppy how much he cared, but that she wasn’t able to see those acts of service in the way he meant them. Other than despairing over whether or not this pair would sort everything out, I loved seeing our previous couples and all the Hammonds, as well as discovering what groundwork the author is setting out for the books yet to come. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.
Liz Isaacson novels are always a treat! She hints at future main characters; readers can feel begin rooting for the next couple to make their romance work. We also get peeks at previous characters too, so we know how beloved figures on the homestead and ranch are doing.
The giggles I had when reading about Travis and his Pied Piper skills with the goats made this all the more fun to read! Neighbor romances are so sweet, but Poppy’s pride definitely made me wish I had the patience of Trav. My only main hiccup was Steele, Poppy’s son, seemed to act younger than his actual age. Maybe that’s a perk of working on a farm, though!
Such a great book! I love all the new people we meet and the update of the original. I enjoyed Poppy and Travis story and I loved learning about each of their lives. I loved Dorthy the donkey and especially at the end, she makes me smile. I love how it wasn't all easy and happy love story. I loved that it was real life struggles and that you connected and understood where the feelings were coming from. Such a great book and I just love everyone in it and I can't wait to read Michaels story next.
Poppy is an independent single mom who does not like unsolicited help as she cannot trust others. Travis wants to be wanted and needed and he enjoys helping Poppy. I liked how they both tried to accommodate the other’s views and loved Dorothy and the interactions with her. It’s always nice to catch up with the Hammond family also. Once again the author has created an enjoyable story with several strands and hints for further books. I received an ARC of this book but voluntarily leave this review.
I LOVED Travis and Poppy's story!! She was a bit of a frustrating heroine at times, but I still liked her. Travis is wonderful, and I LOVED that we got to visit old friends in this book, and you would enjoy this book more if you read the other Coral Canyon books, but it is not a requirement. They are all so wonderful though!! Anyway Poppy is a single mom living on a farm who wants nothing more that to be independent. Travis is a man who is lonely and needs to be needed. This is a GREAT book!! I love the relationship between Travis and his mom, and Travis and his roommate, he is a GREAT guy!! This book ticks all the boxes and is clean with no cliff hangers.
Travis is an ex-Wall Street guy who becomes a cowboy for the Hammond Family. Next door is a single mother, Poppy, who runs a farm and has an 11 year old son. She struggled with her crops and Travis secretly paid some of her bills to help her out. Being an strong independent woman, she was not happy with that. Later they meet up at a speed dating event and decide to go out. They start dating but they are some underlying issues. Clean Christian romance.
I received an ARC of this book and am giving an honest review.
Holly and Travis , was a really great story. Travis wasminutes then switched chairs and partnera. a vewbifor allionaire, ot needing to work. He worked onthe Hammond Farm. Holly lived next farm over. Travis found out about her needing money to pay her loan note. He paid it for her and she was angry about it. They met at a date night, where you just met someone and talked and switched chairs. They enjoyed each other so much , they left and had supper together. A new begining with problems. Enjoy their finding each other.
I enjoyed this story as Travis and Poppy learned to love and to be together. The characters are true to life and relatable. I loved getting to know them. I like that the characters have support systems and get professional help and work through problems realistically. Travis is an all around great guy. I loved getting to know him. Poppy has so many wonderful qualities, but has past trauma to deal with. It was great reading how it all came together and worked out.
I had an ARC for this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Cowboy Travis Thatcher is interested in neighbor Poppy Harris, but she doesn’t want his help with her farm, her goats, or her son. When they meet at a speed dating event, they leave with each other. The plot involves issues of trust, accepting help from others, and allowing others into your life. Another interesting and uplifting book by Liz Isaacson.
I love all of Liz Isaacson’s books! His Fourth Date is no exception, and I loved Travis and Poppy’s story while catching up with the Hammond family. This works as a standalone, but would be enjoyed even more if the series is read in order. I love that Liz writes multidimensional characters with realistic problems that aren’t resolved too quickly. This is a wonderful, heartwarming, and enjoyable story that I highly recommend.
Travis gives up life in the big city to work as a cowboy in Colorado. Poppy is a single mother trying to keep her farm going. They get off on the wrong foot, but they each try speed dating where they come into contact again. This is the fourth book in Liz Isaacson's Ivory Peaks series. Another great storyline with charming characters. There isn't anything not to like.
I was given this advanced copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is a great story, one of forgiveness, support, trust and love. This is Travis and Poppy’s story and it’s just wonderful. Realistic and relatable characters with realistic and relatable problems as they try to navigate their way on this incredible journey. I love that we get to catch up with old friends and family in this heartwarming and emotional romance and the author does an incredible job of drawing you into this small town so much so that you don’t want to leave.
