And now Elf. Just how many different roles can I play?
The mission the Organization sent me on to atone for failing the last one turned out to be a trap. The whole thing had been a set up in the hopes of selling me off in an auction run by the Dark Ring. What I don’t know is who was behind setting the trap. The more I learn, the more I come to discover that the world I thought I knew is all lies.
Unsure of who to trust, I lean on the men who found their way into my heart and refuse to leave. My mates are learning their new roles as I’m learning to control my magic. My Guide, and newest mate, is an elf and the only one who can teach me what it means to have this new power. Unfortunately if anyone learns what I’m truly capable of, I’ll become an even bigger target than I already am.
As we try to figure out our next move it becomes clear that the more we dig, the more we uncover, and none of it is good.
Is our current way of life worth saving, or is it better to tear it all down and start again? Are there even people out there worthy to lead the supernatural world? How did these questions and their outcome fall on my shoulders?
Together the eight of us will fight to protect what’s ours no matter what we uncover or whose lives we have to take in the process.
Book 2 of the Omega Assassin Series
This is a reverse harem which means that the lady does not choose between her men—she gets them all. The main character is an assassin and does kill people throughout this book. This is a fast burn series with possessive alphas and an omega with a little something more. Dual Nature is an 18+ book that has strong language, sexual situations, and physical violence that ends on a cliffhanger.
I cannot tell you how much I needed Hidden Nature, the second book in Elizabeth Knight's Omega Assassin series. The first book blew my mind, I fell in love with the story but Elizabeth outdid even that one, Hidden Nature was everything. Oh, I lost it over this book, absolutely loved it, she killed it.
A hybrid with the best qualities of both wolf shifter and elf, and is also a strong fmc who uses not only her fighting skills but her smarts. Finley's elven nature has come into play in this one. She's learning her powers and who she is as an elf/wolf hybrid. Finley is working hard actually finding a balance between beginning an omega shifter and an elven warrior. Not only is Finley becoming more herself, but she's still the badass female that she was but she's also figuring out who she is now that she has a family. Her emotional range is growing and she's bonding with her guys. Not to mention some pretty hot moments between them as well.
Speaking of the guys, things between them and Finley are going great, their relationship is progressing in a positive direction. They're learning each other, figuring out how everyone fits together, and helping Finley learn what it means to be a part of a group, to care for others, and have them care for you in return. All of Finley's guys are great, I especially love getting to know Rath, Finley's elven mate. There are even some unexpected side effects to the growing bonds that will only help Finley and the guys as they go forward.
Oh, the plot was excellent. The bad guys are coming out of the woodwork, with one shady organization after another gunning for Finley not to mention a few new characters who pop up just to make things even more interesting. There was crazy magic, daring escapes, and duplicitous deals, that all make one crazy puzzle to put together. It was a fantastic read.
Hidden Nature ends with a little revelation and I can't wait for the third book, because I quote "We need to cause some chaos." From that quote alone I know Perfect in Nature is gonna be so good. I love this series and I hate waiting for the third and final book in the Omega Assassin series can't come soon enough.
3.75 I enjoyed the storyline, but I didn't love all the mate pacifying. Let me explain. The story (plotline) made up probably less than 50% of the book. The other 50% was Finley bonding with her mates or stopping fights etc. etc. I get that this filler is needed to not only show character development but to also build relationships as well. The issue that I had was that Finley's character was almost revered or sanctified. If someone disagreed with her she would kneel down and put her head in their lap and they would calm and realize she was right. Is it just me or was that f***n' weird?? Now that I'm analyzing Finley's character, I'm wondering if she even has a personality at all ... And maybe that is the assassin in her. I don't know, all I know is I found myself skimming the filler/fluff because I wasn't loving it.
4.4 stars. Still enjoying it. The characters are fun, though, a little testy at times. The sex is hot. Im looking forward to seeing it all come together in the last book.
I don't remember every details because I read this book a couple of months ago but I would say that I totally love Rathal, he fits so much in the group and is a precious ally to Finley. The steam is still 🔥🔥🔥😉😉😉 and I like the multiple POV in this serie. I really look forward the next book!
I just have one criticism: the cover, it's awful🤦♀️ I understand that every author doesn't have access or money to pay a designer but this is terrible. The character looks like made of wax😂😂😂 Well, anyway, don't judge a book by its cover because this serie is a very good serie!
Finley is such a great character although she struggles with being an alpha assassin as well as a submissive omega. She is loyal and protective of those she cares about. Now that she knows she is also an elf and with the addition of Rath to her mate circle, she is starting to understand herself more and I’m enjoying her coming into her own unique power. However with their pack now on the forefront of danger from the senate and dark ring, Finley and her mates are going to have to work together in an impossible mission to take them down.
What is it with these freaking cliffhangers?!!? I'm loving this series. The world building, plot details and different POVs is fantastic. Just the last book left.
How ridiculous, to get to 91%, and want to DNF… I’m bored. It’s too slow, too awkward, flat, and poorly developed. I just don’t buy into most of the story, and am uninterested in that which I do. I paused after struggling to reach where I did, and now can’t convince myself to finish.
I’m certain that some will find this enjoyable, but I’m not one.
There’s no need to rip it apart, but so you can figure out if this is for you: it starts with a small amount of action, then stutters along with hints of action, amongst, easy, uninvolved relationship moments (mostly sex), right up until 91%.
Don’t know if it changes from there…the first book did pickup right at the end. I skipped to the last page, but didn’t find anything to convince me to fill in the gap.
It’s placid, friendly smut, with hints of action, but nothing to stressful, or suspenseful. It does have an interesting plot blended in, but just drags it out, and out, and out.. It also has some very disturbing, dark backstory’s, but all told in past-tense, so plenty of reader-distance.
Some awkward, over-explained dialogue, but lacking in the world building.
Wow! Finley's life sure is changing quicker than she anticipated! From assassin to omega wolf to elf, she has a lot going in her life and much more to uncover about her ancestry and powers. In the previous book it was hard to tell how exactly Finley's new omega nature was going to mesh with her assassin skills and training. Would her wolf allow her to put herself in danger or would her omega side cause her to choose flight instead of fight? However, the new elf side of her powers that was released when she freed Rath at the end of book one really balances her out in a way I wasn't expecting. Her wolf isn't front and center now and can even be convinced to let some actions slide even if it is something her wolf wouldn't originally be for. It was interesting to see how both sides worked together and I'm eager to see how the powers all blend eventually, working together to make Finley as powerful and capable as she needs to be. Both her omega/empath and her elf powers are incredibly strong at this point without her knowing much about either. I think I will continue to be surprised by everything she can do as she becomes more familiar and comfortable with her new abilities as the series continues.
As for Finley's mates, things seem to be running more smoothly, even with the addition of Rath. Being the only elf I thought maybe there would be some type of conflict but he seems to have slid into place with no issues and even is helping the others understand Finley and her elf side in a way they aren't capable of as well as vice versa with the wolves and her omega side. It was great to see them helping each other out to make sure Finley is cared for properly. This effort allowed everyone to get closer and bonds to be formed, both wolf and Nos. Through bonding, we got to see new sides to the characters that Finley was able to bring out just in the short time she has been with all the guys. It was enlightening to see these changes and see some even letting down their walls to be able to tell their backstories.
Finally, we come to the main issues in this series: the Senate and the Dark Ring. I think from reading so many books, I've just come to expect any type of authority or higher up council type of group to be corrupt in some way. This series is no different, but it was different in how everything was connected and playing off of each other. I cannot wait for more information to be revealed about these groups and for Finley and her guys to start cutting down key players, weakening them when they least expect it. They really chose to go after the wrong person when they decided to target Finley.
(cuz this one had its hooks into me as deeply as the first book did- GOD I BOW DOWN TO ELIZABETH'S ABILITY TO GIVE SUCH GREAT PLOT)
But alas I don't care, I feel what I feel&my feelings tell me it took way way waaay too long for the MC&her other 6 men to be reunited for me to give this 5 stars.
Like to the point that it almost distracted me.
I kept going when is she going to meet them? what is taking so long? This scene Would be cuter if I wasn't impatiently waiting for her to get to the rest of them HURRY UP already (when she almost left them out of fear... Whew... I was almost almost Extremely Pissed).
When everyone was together though... Finally, I could breathe&the story flowed.
I also loved that Mr. Elf was that emotional fierce protector she needed when the others would get too caveman.
I loooooved how more&more she grew into her slightly uncontrollable power (curing a supe? making an alpha shift unconsciously? SHE'S AT THAT LEVEL ALREADY? Sign me up sign me up Sign Me Up! That is the type of power I love to see an MC have).
The only other nitpick I have is the sex scene with the twins (double stuffed in THAT way? Nah, felt very very unnecessary)&the fact that it wasn't mentioned explicitly that they got the same symbol that Elias&Mr. Elf got on their chest++the fact that she had to talk to them even in her mind TOgether...
I don't like that they share so much, in the sense that even their Individual time with her had to be shared in their separate POVs.
Twins are not 1 person split, they are two different people with two different brains&mindsets&feelings&I feel like the author treats twins more superficially than most RH I've read that respected twins as two separate entities)
Other than that though, I really enjoyed this one a lot.
I'll give myself a little time away from this series before I get into the 3rd book (cuz I really don't want it to end 😢) but man this- so far has been a blast!
Finley and her men have quickly become of favorite of mine. I really, really enjoyed this book. Finley growing into her elf nature was very refreshing, since the only part of the last book I found difficult to digest was her forced submission due to her omega nature.
My feelings regarding the guys are mostly the same. I love them all, but the betas most definitely hold my heart. It's hard to talk specifics without spoilers, but lets just say Elias needs all the hugs and Mason and Noah kept me giggling and laughing between the heavy moments.
I really enjoyed Rathal and was so relieved with his overall welcome. The way everyone falls effortlessly into their rolls and takes care of one another makes it feel like a super functional family.
I'm super super super excited about the new character introduced at the end. I look forward to getting to know them better in the next installment! This world and its rules are very interesting. I am on edge waiting to see how the depth of Finley's power is going to be exposed and how it will be received. Obviously, those in power now will be enraged/threatened, but what of the every day supers? Cant wait to find out!
To start with, I always really enjoy reading anything by Elizabeth Knight. Not only is she a delight and really good at creating interesting and thoughtful worlds. This series and this book in particular are no different.
It was really great to see how the relationships between the mates evolved and where they fell into their own relationship with the FMC. Really truly enjoyed the spicy scenes. Enjoyed watching the relationships grow and blossom.
My one and only complaint is that I found a little bit of the premise confusing. There were a lot of things happening all at one time, sort of a conglomeration of interesting story plot pieces. She's not only a shifter but a few other things that I'll let you figure out when you read this for yourself. But for me it felt like a lot, like they were all squashed into this story and I felt like instead of adding interest it was a touch on the confusing side.
Definitely worth picking up and if you haven't started the series it's one you should take a dive into.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I really liked the multi POV’s. It opened up the characters and allowed the reader to understand who they were as a character and how they fit in her life. I did find that the balance was a bit off though. So many bad guys from different ends of the spectrum working together. There wasn’t much happiness or positives going for the main group in this book. The weight on her shoulders is massive and she is the saviour to them all. When she’s just an assassin turned into an omega wolf, then finds out she was never human to begin with. She’s Elven! Or, an Elven Omega assassin wolf to be exact. There was some knotty scenes, double the stuffing in others, can’t forget spit roasting twin sandwich. Elizabeth knows how to write some Hot Scenes! I hope the next book the fmc experiences something happy to counteract all the negatives. She’s due for some smiles and snuggles.
Wow…just wow! Elizabeth Knight has ramped up Finley’s story ten fold and man was it a thrilling ride! I’m constantly in awe of Finley, this woman is strong, courageous, loving and protective. The lengths she’ll go to to protect those she’s loved, even with being on her own for most of her whole life, is truly wonderful to see. And Finley’s mates…*chefs kiss*! These men are protective, caring and everything one could want in mates. They are just so swoon-worthy. Watching their bonds grow and develop has been quite the sight and I loved every moment of it. That despite the lingering threat they are taking the time to truly connect and be there for one another.
This storyline is crazy awesome, undoubtedly unique, and so thrilling it will have you at the edge of your seat. With every page I am just waiting to see what is going to happen next!
Hidden Nature is book #2 in the Omega Assassin series. Its a reverse harem romance with an omega that is so much more than she seems.
I love Finley and her mates so much! Each book keeps hooking me more and more!
Finley makes it back to her mates, with a new mate with her. She learns more about what she is and the magic she has.
Finley and her guys relationships all keep growing and becoming stronger. They are more than just a pack, they are a family.
The Dark Ring and the Senate are still a threat and the group is trying to figure out how to take them down.
I absolutely devoured this book!!! I couldn't put it down! I can always count on Elizabeth to bring amazing characters, a plot that will have me glued to the pages, and HOT spice! This is a must read!!!!
“I’m 50/50 with this second book. Focusing on Finley, she had a pretty hard time adjusting to her new self. Being a wolf shifter was one thing but now an elf too? Luckily she’s strong with brains and that’s what I liked the most even if she was adjusting to be an omega she kept her bold side so much needed to deal with her mates lol. Trust me, I was exactly like her at THAT moment ‘why they always ended up fighting’ *insert roll up eyes* though it was funny seeing them struggling with her good intentions hahaha. Now, the guys part, this is where my other 50% isn’t happy. I loved that the relationship keeps growing and maturing but… a new mate?! Seriously?! No! That felt so weird and out of nowhere kind of way. I’ve nothing against him, Rath was good really but no lol but I’m looking forward to the next book.”
This pupper picks up right where Dual Nature left us. The FMC is gone with the Organization/Senate to do a mission and then she is betrayed and she found her Elven mate.
Now that she and her new mate are escaped they are on the way back to her mates at the pack house. Once they're back in TN the pack must figure out how to navigate having a new mate who seems closer to her mentally and that they know nothing about.
The Senate is not whom anyone thinks they are. They are only interested in power and staying on top. We are pretty sure they are working hand in hand with the Dark Ring selling super.
Towards the end of the book, we meet another player in the Omega Assassins' mission to take down both parties.
Finley is sent on a mission in replacement of the last failed mission and it turns out to be a trap. She can only trust her men and must figure out who set the trap up and who wants her gone.
We have a new addition to Finley's mates! Rath was a great addition into Finley's harem and I loved how open everyone was to accepting him. Of course Elias is still one of my favorites, but each one of her men bring something different to her life and together they make a great team.
The story is beginning to pick up and we're finally getting some answers, but also more questions that hopefully the next book will answer. This book does end on a killer cliffhanger, but I expected nothing less from Elizabeth Knight!
This is just what we’ve come to expect from Ms Knight….drama, action, twists/turns and super smexy scenes with fierce men that leave you with great visuals.
The story continues with Finley coming more into her elf nature - which which was really satisfying as I’ll be honest, I wasn’t a huge fan of the of her omega submissiveness from book 1 what with her being a bada*se trained assassin! Add in danger from the senate and the ring, I sure am glad she’s got another protective male added to her harem in Rath. It always seems like they’re facing an impossible task so I’m excited to see where Elizabeth takes this next!!
As usual ends on a cliffy that leaves you wanting more and hating the wait for the next instalment! Another 5star read if this series is your thing….get reading!!!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Loved it! I honestly was obsessed from the start and couldn’t put it down until the very last word. *** you must read book one before this, otherwise you won’t understand the background*** I was completely fascinated on how we delve down into it all and get more info/ gain more intel on what’s going on. Although while still leaving a lot unknown and unsaid. Love that style f this authors writing, the detail and emotion in this book drags you right into the world. Finley is such an amazing Elf/wolf and her numerous men are hot AF, the steamy scenes are off the charts. This book was an epic journey, loved seeing the new allies and I’m so excited to see where this all goes next!
I thought it was going to be good but having Finley become a needy omega from her dominant personality is annoying. I hate the situations she puts Rath in and I just couldn't anymore. I feel like she's two sided. No Rath can you shield your emotions because it disturbs my function and then a switch can you tell me what your thinking because you don't want me. Ughhhh how annoying is this. Please try not to make the MC into a worthless mess that becomes to annoying to enjoy the book. I stopped 70% because I was done with Finley. Too bad the book had great potential.
I've been on an omegaverse kick lately after reading Pack Darling, but this one just didn't hit the spot for me. I thought book one was an okay start to the series and was hopeful that I would enjoy book 2 more, but that wasn't the case. It wasn't bad, but wasn't great either. I just found Finley to be extremely needy. I understand that she is still coming to terms with being an omega and with finding out she is an elf. I know that omegas are meant to be submissive, but I just felt like it was really over the top. I love a good spicy book, more smut than plot is fine with me, but the plot just wasn't compelling enough to keep me interested in this case.
Book 2 of a series and not to be read as a standalone.
Hidden nature picks up where Book 1 ended with Finley separated from her men after leaving to finish her dark ring mission however it isn’t long before they are all reunited with Finley gaining herself another mate along the way. I loved how Finley’s Omega nature was clashing with both her Elf magic and assassin instincts before all three are able to merge and start working together, I have no doubt Finley will be a force to reckoned with once she has her power under control.
Elizabeth Knight hands down is one of my absolute favourite authors! I seriously have not read a series I didn’t absolutely love and Hidden Nature is no exception.
This book has everything you need, a unique plot, amazing characters, action, steam and such a unique concept that you won’t be disappointed! Finley is wonderfully complicated and who wouldn’t struggle to come to terms with all the sudden changes not to mention even more danger than ever but we see her strength and unwavering loyalty not to mention some bad *** skills.
I honestly can’t wait for devour more! If you haven’t read it yet you need to asap.
3,5 stars Great book, this picks up right after the first one left us almost. I like Finley she is growing in herself and adapting, learning how to be two things at the same time wolf and elf plus an omega. It´s nice to see that she can fight more now than in the beginning of being an omega. And her mates, i love how protective they are. Zander is one of my fave, Elias as well and the new dude, Rathal might be one. But i like them all, some more than the others thank god not a stupid cliffhanger at the end, yaaasss
I don’t know how Elizabeth does it but this series keeps getting better and better! I loved the addition of Rath to the group and somehow I feel like not only did Finley need him, but so did the guys. More and more plots, lies and curves lie around every corner as the group tries to figure out what they need to do and who they need to take out. The Senate and Dark Ring are both huge threats and I do wonder if Finley is going to continue to add more man power (so to speak) about in order to complete their missions. I loved meeting Ayla at the end and I can’t wait to see what she can do!
I’m really enjoying this new world Ms. Knight is creating. It’s so different from her other books and I love omega books. The FMC is strong which contradicts omega nature but she is also an elf so she is navigating her way through this confusing time with the help of her men. She picks up a new mate in this book and they all have to learn to work together. There is mystery and intrigue and they need to figure out how to stop the bad guys, I’ll be waiting to figure out how they choose to do that in the next book
I like the story so far and Finley is definitely going through many hoops here. It seems there is more complex web with the Dark Ring and the Senate that kind of puts the characters in a more precarious situation that it was initially anticipated. I am interested to see how the new dynamics of the Nos works out and something tells me that there might be another addition to Finley's family. Off to the last book and hopefully some more attention will be given to the twins and Elias as they have been kind of on the side so far.
This is the second fantastic book in the Omega Assassin series. It is a fast burn paranormal RH read with plenty of intrigue, action, and steam.
I absolutely loved the first book and this one is just as good, if not better. I am in love with both the characters and the storyline. It is a page turner for sure!
I definitely highly recommend this book and series and am very excited for the conclusion of this amazing story!
Absolutely loved this second book in the Omega Assassin series!!. The characters are all loveable and coming into themselves as a team nicely. I mean seriously what's not to love about this book!! A kick butt FMC and hot as sin men worshipping her but keeping her on her toes as well, and the storyline will keep you intrigued from the moment you pick up the book! I can't wait for the final book. Highly recommend this series!
