The eighteenth book in the Mountain Life Western Adventure series from Charles Ray!
Caleb and Flora are invited to join a group of mountain men who want to hold a rendezvous north of Bear Creek to share stories and camaraderie. Their reunion is spoiled when a group of cowboys arrive with a large herd and insist that the mountain men strike camp and let them graze their animals on the land. When they refuse to vacate, the cowboys declare war, starting with an attempt to stampede the herd through the camp. Angered, Caleb decides to strike back.
I've been writing since my teens. In addition to writing for several newspapers and magazines in the US, Europe, Asia, and Africa, I've written two books on leadership and a number of fiction works. I'm also a published poet, photographer, and artist. I write in several genres, reflecting my broad reading tastes. I spent 20 years in the army, retiring in 1982 and becoming a diplomat. I've worked in about 10 countries and traveled to about 30 more, mining each for material to write about.
Good storyline. Interesting twists. When I started reading Charles Ray and I have read a lot of his stories. They did not have excessive Cussing. This book used The Lords name in vain. It's really not nesacray . If it keeps happening gonna be 1 less follower.
