I feel like the author wrote this book for me because I am just few years away from 30 and I still feel so clueless. I don't know what to do with my life. And this book felt like so relatable to me.

The book is divided into 4 different phases of cluelessness:
FOMO (fear of missing out)
SOBO (search of better options)
JOLO (joy of letting go)
MOFO (moving forward)

The author shared her personal experience in this book, from her college days to her professional days. The way she shared her anecdotes made me feel like I knew the author and made me feel relatable to her.

This book is written in a simple language and it is easy to follow what the author is trying to say. This book is funny at times and uplifting as well. Her wisdom is impeccable and reading this book makes it clear that she had her share of failure in order to achieve success.

Overall, I really enjoyed my time reading this book. It was motivational and uplifting. I'd definitely recommend this book if you are in need of something in case you are feeling lost or clueless. Definitely worth the read.

Not many first-time authors can write as well as Shalini has done in her first book.

Even though the title may be Clueless at 30, the book is meant for everyone, whether they are under 30 years old, or over 40 and even 50, as most individuals are clueless at any age about why they have chosen a career or life path.

Rather than being a typical self-help book, Clueless at 30 helps you to understand why you may have taken some decisions in different stages of your life, and that you are not alone. With the help of interesting anecdotes, the book suggests that you need to find your Slash. What is "Slash"? You need to read the book for that...

Kudos, Shalini - I don't give 5 stars easily.

Clueless at 30 is a witty and honest account of author's professional journey and her personal experiences - the hustle, sacrifices, failures, the state of being confused and clueless about life and everything else. The book is further divided into four parts which are quite relatable and conveys a strong message with each story and chapter :

FOMO (Fear of Missing Out)
SOBO (Search of Better Options)
JOLO (Joy of letting go)
MOFO (The Moving Forward phase)

The author takes us a roller coaster ride of dealing with our emotions, underestimating our self worth, the risk taking phase and being curious about things we always wanted to do or learn. The book is a candid and a real version of life's challenges and moving forward and overcoming our fears. The book is a thought provoking one making us introspect about our passion and interests. We all have been clueless in our life atleast ones regardless of our age. I would definately recommend you to read this.

Ever faced that feeling, even though things seem to be alright and “planned” as we thought, we aren’t happy with the life, the sense of “not being enough” and “miserable”? that feeling that forces us to question ourselves “what am I doing wrong? Or why can’t I be happy like my colleague or friend? Trust me the person who inspires you probably is going through the same thought process or went through at some point in their life. The constant bug “something is missing” makes us restless and therefore we keep on refusing to settle down.
When I say settle down I don’t mean to get married or stuck in an unhappy job but rather settle and be at peace with the reality.
Clueless at 30 is an honest rant of Shalini Prakash where she shared her dilemmas and how to figure out her life purpose. As she shares her thoughts, I started relating to her more than I thought I would! We see our friends and think maybe I should take up a law course or MBA course or sign up for that business class or travel solo! maybe if I travel to Auroville I might get some woo woo enlightenment and achieve all of my dreams once I return!! She went on sharing how often we see our friends or influencers on social media and think they are high achievers, living their life to the fullest, living in the city you always dream of, and so on, creating an illusion and sense of being inferior. She pointed out as much as these thoughts are inevitable, it doesn’t mean others’ life is picture-perfect and that we cannot fool ourselves with self-limiting beliefs. In a capitalist world, there’s always an urge to achieve more and more but that doesn’t define our life. Our life purpose should be in harmony with the world’s needs. Simply put the focus should be on giving quality out there rather than quantity. The “happiness trap” that social media lays for us, feeds on our insecurity and exploits us. No wonder why we see millennials are facing an “existential crisis” more often than before.
We create our own milestones and yardsticks to measure our successes and misadventures which on one hand pushes us to work harder and be a better person also never let us completely absorb the joys of those little achievements. As the author rightly put,
“We make the mistake of associating happiness with our personal goals. And when things start looking shaky, we lose our minds. We think we would be happy if a wish come true.”
Our wants are neverending, so are the expectations of people from us but that doesn’t have the right to control our lives. The process should be another way around. The author through a beautiful storytelling narrative asks us to refocus our thought process and direct our lives accordingly.

The title of the book and the cover page extracts the concept of this book barely.
"CLUELESS AT 30" this title makes me think over the impression of this book. When I start to read this book makes I felt this is the keynote of the clueless man to run towards their goal.

" When we wish for a fancy title or a better life that becomes the goal. But what we fail to do is set smaller goals to get there................... Focus on the repetitions that lead to that place. Focus on the piles of work that come before success. Focus on the hundreds of ceramic pots that come before the masterpiece. "

In this line, the author literally, explains our great mistake towards our goal. And guides us to the effective way to conquer failure.

This book deals with the real-life experience to find the way of success in the 30s. As an entrepreneur, the author evidences her valuable life experience for the guidance of millennials. The language is rational. Everyone can grasp easily.

Clueless at 30 is an account of the author Shalini Prakash's honest experiences. What I love about such reads is that one gets to learn a bunch and can avoid the most common missteps. The author refers to this as a 'self-care' book rather than self-help and I completely agree with that. The book is divided into 4 parts which talk about FOMO (fear of missing out), SOBO (search of better options), JOLO (joy of letting go) and MOFO (move forward) which are 4 different phases in the life of every individual, you will understand better once you read it.

As the title says 'Clueless at 30', this book is penned keeping the millennials in mind. Our generation is considered to be the most confused (the most intellectual too!), the reason according to me is the introduction of a multitude of new things when we were growing up. It has always been hard for us to understand what we want from life and then comes this book to our rescue. It will teach us ways to condition our minds so that we can determine our goals and achieve them.

This book is written in such a way that if made the best use of the experiences and learnings mentioned we will be able to find the thing we want to do with our life ( you can trust as the person penning this down is herself a millennial). It focuses on breaking conventional norms and acting rationally.

Some of my learnings which I would like to share with you all are as follows:
🌿 Success lies in the way we think about ourselves.
🌿 Don't be afraid of making mistakes because learning from them only will lead you to the doorway of success.
🌿Patience, persistence and belief are the three most important keys to gratification.
🌿Stop re-telling harsher stories to yourself instead mould them in such a way that empowers you.
🌿'Find your slash' and 'saying yes to everything that comes our way' was the highlight for me.

INSIGHTFUL!

⭐Life ain’t an easy game. Questions about existence, money, settlement, relationships, passion, this and that keep playing Clash of Clans in our head. Elixir is the dopamine. To obtain enough elixir we exhaust our energies and then rebuild the exhausted empire. Too metaphorical? Well, let’s get this straight. LIFE IS A BUMPY RIDE. No matter how organized you are. So, Shalini Prakash has come up with her insight on life and the lessons that she wants to share with us.

⭐“Clueless at 30” is a self-help book. It is all inclusive. It has stories of famous personalities, her own experiences, her lifestyle, her growth, her tips and all that she has to say. Reading this book is like talking to a friend of yours who sometimes gives you a ‘pep talk’ and the other times comes crying with questions like “What on Earth am I doing with my life?” she answers some of questions that will help you see clearer towards your goal and I believe that help to see things clearer is the best thing we can take from a book. In times of sadness and depression, when we often find it hard to open up to someone, Shalini Prakash can probably be your companion. So, don’t hold on for too long. Go get yourself a friend now!

⭐This book is suitable to people who are looking to a kick start in their careers and life overall, as the title says pretty clearly. I am nothing more than a thread who might just help to bring you in light if this book. Enjoy reading!

Here's to clueless by 30 by Shalini Prakash📚

"Clueless at 30" is a self-portrayal cum "taking care of oneself" book through which the writer shares her wild expert excursion and in light of the encounters accumulated in this excursion, doles out certain thoughts that looks to resolve specific normal issues that plague the recent college grads. Be it their yearnings, unremarkableness or cluelessness about themselves or their future.

Separated in four sections to be specific ; FOMO, SOBO, JOLO and MOFO, the book portrays the working of dumbfounded brain in various stages. In FOMO, which represents Fear of Missing Out, the creator brings up and portray the period of cluelessness where one understands left or squandered. In the ensuing part SOBO( Search of Better Options), the creator offers answers for cure the past stage. In the following next stages JOLO( Joy of Letting Go) and MOFO (Move Forward) the creator portrays purifying of psyche and embracement of work towards responsibilities and yearnings. The interesting thing regarding this book is that it gives this multitude of serviceable thoughts, accounts and stories that advance it with reasonableness as well as gives it an individual touch which makes this book an awesome read.

In general, written in a basic and clear language, "Clueless at 30" is a totally astounding book that can help perusers in recognizing their actual worth throughout everyday life and setting them up in the correct bearing to make progress and satisfaction. Recommended

3.5/5

Job crisis, passion crisis, career crisis;
Majority of adults in their early 20s or onwards are bound to experience one or more of these at a particular time in their life. I too did in my early 20s.

Clueless At 30 by Shalini Prakash is an honest account of the author's journey through her career. In a very structured manner, the book has been divided into 4 interesting chapters namely,

1. FOMO (Fear of Missing Out)
2. SOBO (Search of Better Options)
3. JOLO (Joy of Letting Go)
4. MOFO (Moving Forward)

All 4 of these chapters describe the 4 stages of clueless-ness. Alongside being an account, Clueless at 30 also serves to be a self help book. While comparing it to other self help books, this one is easier to understand because all the lessons or tips have been preached in coordination with the authors journey along with examples of her friends.

It's appreciable how humble her approach towards writing her failures and success has been. She's candidly written about the messes and insecurities. There have also been lots of examples of start up owners/tech leaders and certain skills, experience that comes to us from the things we pursue. I wished a deeper dive into the passion component or clueless component would've been taken, the scientific or psychological aspect per se because I would've definitely enjoyed it a lot. But, to each their own; this book must be something a lot of people could use reading and digesting.

I loved the cute cover and bought this book but somehow it took a lot of time for me to pick it up. Maybe because deep down I didn't want to know the uncomfortable truths about myself since I'm a person who has been Clueless pretty much at every stage of my life! But when I started reading this book, I've noticed a section where the author mentioned that this is a "self care" book rather than a self help one. I really liked this point and started reading it eagerly. This book is divided into four chapters, the first one starting with, FOMO- Fear Of Missing Out. This is the beginning stage of feeling Clueless in life (career wise) and most of the people experience it during their 20s as they finish their graduation. FOMO gives us the feeling of being left behind while comparing ourselves with our peers who seem to be ahead and sorted in this rat race of life.
Author is from a South Indian family who made a "foolproof decision" to do engineering to make her parents happy. But deep down she knew that she's not sure what exactly she wants and this might or might not be the correct choice for her. This inner nudging never left her even after she started working in a MNC. I related a lot with her description about a regular job, since even I hated working that way.
I like the simple yet relatable conversations she had with her friends Sam and Vikram and even with her brother Rohan.
This book contains three other chapters, SOBO- Search of better options, JOLO- The joy of missing out and MOFO- The moving forward. I loved reading her observations and takeaways she gave based on her experiences. The language is simple, beginner friendly and informative as well. Do give this book a read, if you are Clueless about your career or even if your doing one but aren't satisfied with it! I'm sure it will be helpful in changing our perception and attitude towards many things!

❤️BOOK REVIEW 📚❤️
TITLE : CLUELESS AT 30
AUTHOR : SHALINI PRAKASH
Publication : Rupa publication India Pvt. Ltd
Genre : Non Fiction
Format : Paperback
Pages : 200

🖍️ As the title suggests, this book is written on the youth of today who are confused about what they want to become in their career, what they want to achieve in their life.
🖍️ This problem is very common in a youth group that they are moving towards fulfilling their dreams? Or obey what your elders are asking them to do? and this book is a great answer to this problem.
🖍️ The book is divided into four parts named FOMO, SOBO, JOLO, and MOFO and like these interesting names, the author has written many interesting things and information in this book.
🖍️ The author has shared many of her experiences in this book so that we can understand the things told by her, which we feel exactly like our story.
🖍️ This book was like a mirror to me that reconnected me with the person inside me which we all usually ignore in the midst of this outside world.
🖍️ It will not be an exaggeration to say that this book is a reflection of the inner turmoil of the young mind and to some extent its solution.
🖍️ Great perspective along with being fairly easy to read and understand.
🖍️ This book has proved that it is not necessary to inspire someone by telling the story of a great personality, but you can tell a lot from your experiences.

Clueless at 30. The title hits you right, doesn't it? I am not 30 per say, but being clueless at 22 is terrifying too. I am just throwing stones in the dark. Maybe we all are. No, I shouldn't generalize. Some of you might have your entire life, uptil 60 years of age, all chalked out. What am I supposed to do though? Sit blank when the interviewer asks me where do I see myself in 10 years? Or, can I be like Phoebe and reply that I don't even have a pla?

Okay but, maybe being clueless isn't the worst thing. After all, I am embracing all that this coming my way. I am pushing my boundaries and achieving excellence too. The only problem is that I don't know which field to pursue.

This is what Clueless at 30 answers. Why do we need to choose a field? In an age where we are changing furniture through Furlenco and partners through Tinder, why can't we change our careers as we fancy? What's stopping us?

Through her personal experiences, the author has narrated the millennials' goof-ups, insecurities and challenges, and obviously, how to overcome them.

The book has something relatable for everyone, because let's accept it, we are all clueless. However, the topic of entrepreneurship and venture capital is covered in great detail and it might lead to you losing attention sometimes.

But if you are really stuck in life and are trying to make sense of all that is going on, you might end up liking it!

I guess we all feel clueless at times, questioning what our future, career and life plans are. In the world where such insecurities and anxiety rule the minds of the millennials, this book comes out as a candid conversation with those who are uncertain of what comes next, at 20 or maybe at 30.

The book moves through four different phases of cluelessness: Fear of Missing Out (FOMO), Search of Better Options (SOBO), Joy of Letting Go (JOLO) and Move Forward (MOFO).

The author has shared her personal experiences and anecdotes from hers as well as several entrepreneurs' lives. This book discusses their hustles, thoughts and actions at the time and the errors they committed. While reading the book people might feel like digs being taken on them, and that's what makes it relatable. Entirely a motivational & inspirational read, the book may leave the readers if not a clue, then a hope that it's okay to feel rudderless sometimes and I would ask you to just look at the index of this book and pick it up even if it's slightly intriguing. Take the book slow, though.

"Is it possible that inside every ambitious hero, is a fragile person just waiting to be rescued?"

"We all learn to feel fear and do things anyway. We learn to get past the fear."

"We control our narrative. We control our story."

"We should always remain a 'work in progress' and constantly tinker with ourselves."

Every day in our life, we experience a lot of confusion. Sometimes it is of no importance like which dress to wear, what to cook, what to eat, etc. They can be faced with ease because they do not hold any significance and can be solved even if wrong. But when it comes to our career we get panicked or worried.

It is quite easy to overcome the confusion in a career at various stages of life as then do we realize the importance of an individual.
What are your views on this?

This book is an honest account of the author's journey filled with struggles, challenges and sacrifices. The book starts something like this, "Let’s imagine you are 30 years old and clueless in life. What do I do with my life? Or what is my passion? The author has talked about her life with her friend's life: Vikram and Sam. As well as, there is a diagram at the start explaining the four main elements of this book.

Each part mentioned is just not only practical stuff but also you will find that there is an emotional touch to it also. I genuinely find this book very relatable and what we usually go through with.

Each part of the book describes the workings of a clueless mind. The book is based on four different phases of Cluelessness: Fear Of Missing Out( FOMO), Search Of Better Options (SOBO), Joy Of Letting Go(JOLO), Move Forward (MOFO). The real-life examples mentioned in the book truly connected me with this book.

The author has done a commendable job! Everything is very well managed. The language used is easy to understand and very subtle yet attractive book cover. The narration part is also very good. In a nutshell, it's a wonderful read!

We often face situations when we don't know what we are doing or going to do in our life. We feel as if we are just moving but don't know where. Most of us face or have faced that uncomfortable situation when we are continuously asked about our career choice or passion in life but we are not yet clear about it.  We seem to be just going on with the flow which sometimes lead to stress, misery and anxiety.

This book tells us that it's okay to not know from the very beginning what you want to do in life. It's absolutely okay to fall, to make mistakes, to explore different kinds of careers and to take your own time before finding that one perfect career that gives you purpose and satisfaction.

Clueless at 30 is a light-hearted, honest and witty account of author's professional journey and all the challenges she faced throughout. This is not a "self help" book but you can count it as a "self care" book. This book is more relatable than I thought it to be. It is divided into 4 broader sections named - FOMO(Fear of missing out), SOBO(Search of better options), JOLO(Joy of letting go) and MOFO (Moving forward). The language used is lucid and the book is apt for beginners and avid readers alike.

This book is definitely a great pick for anyone who feels stuck or lost and struggling to find their passion in life.

There are tons of recommendations of self help books flowing around, but unlike them, Clueless at 30 is not just an ordinary self help book but a self-care book.
The author has written this book from a point of view that makes it's readers to relate with the words and the situations. Instead of penning down stories with a sense of superiority and a moral high ground, the author has shared personal anecdotes, her mistakes and her feelings in this book.
Myriads of topics like love, pain, confusion, self doubt, loneliness and many more are covered in this book through the stories of the author. The author has tried her best to tell her readers to welcome opportunities and that it's okay to take one's time to figure shit out.
The language of the book is very lucid and the division of the book in the 4 parts names- FOMO (Fear of Missing Out), SOBO (Search of Better Option), JOLO (Joy of Letting Go) and MOFO (Move Forward), made it even more interesting to read!
Overall, it's a very good book for millenials but for gen z like me, this was an okayish read!

Being a minellial comes with grappling multiple existential crisis while assuring yourself that you'll be fine because that's what everyone around you expects from you. At least, for me.

Reading this book felt like someone gave me a cup of tea and told me over and over that I wasn't alone in figuring out what to do with my life.

In this book the author shares her own vulnerable experiences in doing so, tell the readers how it's completely okay to not have everything figured out once you reach a certain age. Something that I desperately needed to hear from someone who wasn't my friend or family.

The writing style flows with conversational tone and so it's not necessarily perfect but it does the job of conveying what it's supposed to convey.

I'd recommend this to everyone who is trying to figure out what to do with their lives and failing miserably.

"You are responsible for your own learning and growth. You can build systems that can enhance your progress..."

So many success logics and mantras have re-iterated again and again around us. But what actually makes a difference is ones own will to make a difference. Shalini Prakash in her book Clueless At 30 tells us that it is completely okay to be clueless in life at times. Not everyone has a direction to move on, and not everyone has the same definition of success. People like me feel that this book came into existence for us, who all are about to enter into our 30s soon.

This book is divided into four sections and did justice to each chapter by giving a lot of examples, references and stories to make the logic clear. Writing from personal experiences, the author makes sure to generalise everything in a very unique and humorous manner. One would never get bored while reading this book. The chapters also have unique names like, Wear your sassy pants or Ghosts are liers.

I like the writing style, which is humorous, effective and at the same time makes a lot of sense to the readers. At times it felt as if the author is sitting just beside you and telling things. Highly recommended to one and all, even if you are in your 30s or not.

As we grow old, we tend to experience so much pressure from the outside world to get settled down while we are in our 20s. Is it really necessary to get everything settled in early 20s? Is it that bad if we still figure out what we exactly need in early or late 30s? Does everything happen for everyone at the same time? The answer would be a BIG NO !

Clueless at 30 is a great collection of honest professional encounters by the author. It was both witty and thoughtful. The book has been divided into 4 different chapters. They are as follows-

♧ Fear Of Missing Out
♧ Search Of Better Options
♧ Joy Of Letting Go
♧ Moving Forward

In simpler terms, all these four chapters are shortly called FOMO, SOBO, JOGO & MOFO. The book begins with a universal question! . “Let’s imagine you are 30 years old and clueless in life.” “What do I do with my life? Or what is my passion?” That many of us fail to answer at any point of our life.

The four chapters speak about four different stages of cluelessness. Each of us can easily relate to every little thing in the book as we would have gone through all of these issues mentioned by the author at different phases of our lives, thus the book serves as a self help guide !

The author shares her personal encounters as well as the stories of great entrepreneurs which inspires us. The way the author has narrated her thoughts was so perfect. Anyone who wants to erase the guilt of "still figuring out the purpose of his or her life", can pick up this book for sure ! Highly recommended read !

"Clueless at 30" by Shalini Prakash is an honest journey of the author's career. This book is divided in four very interesting parts.
1. FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out)
2. SOBO (Search Of Better Options)
3. JOLO (Joy Of Letting Go)
4. MOFO (Moving Forward)

This book serves as a self help book. The book started with a very interesting question "Let's imagine you are 30 years old and Clueless in life".

Author has a good point of view about hobbies, passion, love, finding friends, etc.
Vikram and Sam are her friends. Vikram started a career as a management consultant and Sam joined the family business. She on the other hand left a corporate job to start a business of her own.

The four chapters speak about the four different stages of cluelessness. We can easily relate to everything in the Book as we may go through all of these issues mentioned in the book at any different phase of our life.

The book is a real life account which makes it a must read and especially to the people who are already 30 or are going to turn 30. You will find the book very relatable as at some point in our life we all have been complaining about how we have done nothing or could have done so much more in our life.

CLUELESS at 30 by Shalini Prakash
“When you focus on trying to change something outside of your control , it is innately stressful because you don’t have any power over it. Shift the focus off things you can’t control and focus on that which you can influence.”

How do we feel, when choices turn into mere chances? When life suddenly ends upon crossroads?
Clueless at 30, is a journey of the author from a scratch to success. Multiple real-life experiences of rise – fall and acceptance-rejection call for immediate thought processing. Never ending challenges, risk, failures, loss of enthusiasm and motivation, aloofness and doubtful expressions by people around serve as buddies toward author’ goal achievement. The book is divided into four parts: FOMO, SOBO, JOLO AND MOFO each bringing to surface a life changing lesson.
To be very true, the book makes us understand the power of correct decision making, power of searching better options, power of pursuing passions, power of hope, power of stepping out of comfort territories and open mindedness. Every ordinary man perceives that the grass on the other side is greener, the life of successful people is always sorted and easy. But an insight into their story makes us confront with their struggles and pain.
What intrigued me, the most in the book, is the way vastness of topics are discussed with multiple ways to abridge the gap between failure and success. Most amazing feature of the book is that, it is highly relatable to every young mind striving to figure out their life.
Everything is written in simple and précised way, that makes this book worthy for a pick.
No, doubt I, recommend the book to all curious souls, who want to prove their mettle.
Happy Reading.

Clueless at 30 by Shalini Prakash

If you're anywhere near 30, above or below, you will feel your story being narrated & your feelings being exposed by the book. This one is a recounting of the author's life and some of her friends from being clueless and making mistakes to transitioning successfully into entrepreneurship. At the same time, each story & the lessons are soothing to the aching and lost souls who are ambitious yet confused. We are all in the same boat in terms of our mental space.

Social media, comparison, family pressure, societal constructs unfortunately exist & will always be there, it is for oneself to realize that all is not peachy in everyone's life except your own! Each individual has his own journey and it is okay to be discombobulated & exploring your true calling or passion.

A number of references to other books and their teachings are also enumerated which makes it a holistic read. I especially liked the chapter on Find Your Slash which I am a strong advocate of as well.

The language is easy, very millennial which helps to connect with the reader. The real life experiences, vulnerabilities & occurences narrated are relevant to any of us trying to make a mark in the world. But it tends to become preachy at many points and too descriptive. The writing style could have been better. It has a high relatability quotient but lacked in the enriching & informative quotient. Value addition for me personally, was not enough in relation to what I already know.

Overall, a decent read.

Reaching 30 comes up with its own set of baggage . Some people have their life and career set by then . Some legends like Usain bolt even retire before reaching that age while there are many who haven't figured it out what to make out of their life even after crossing 30 . This book is particularly helpful for this last category of individuals.

The author has weaved a powerful work. With some of the most practical and immaculate suggestions it will definitely help those who have lost sight of their goals and aspirations. Author shares her own experiences of entrepreneurship and the hurdles she had to cross to come out victorious. How we can use and infact maximize our untapped potential is beautifully crafted and presented.

The way tale is narrated and written also speaks volumes of the author's talent. She without sounding preachy has guided the readers in an intrinsic detailed manner. The cover is vibrant and so does the contents inside. The best part about reading such books is we get instantly charged up though its important to maintain the tempo in the longer run as well

Overall a really helpful , organized and structured book.

Honestly speaking being in 30s is one of the most crucial period of life. You can't play casual anymore. This is the phase where you are supposed to figure out every thing about life. Career ,life partner, goals , home and car everything. But is it that easy ? Can you be honest about yourself ? The fear of missing out ,termed as " FOMO" is explained beautifully. The narration is conversational and not preachy. The author had taken examples of her and friends life . This is surely insightful and a must read for everyone.

- This pandemic has challenged us all to think differently. My life has turned upside down and all the plans that I had laid out have come to a dead end. This has led me to explore a different field, one that I had never imagined for myself. But prior to this, there was a proper phase of 2 years where I was completely clueless about how to proceed with my career life. Hence, I felt gravitated to try and read this book.

- The book is based on the author's professional journey - her struggles, insecurities, challenges, and achievements. She shares her experiences with us which serve as both a guide and an inspiration. Her writing style is quite appealing as there isn't a single boring moment in the book. The stories of success, failures, and the words of wisdom are narrated in a lucid manner.

- With a touch of humor, she puts forth various notions that can help give a certain clarity to the readers in their personal lives. I would highly recommend this book to those struggling in their professional lives and who are feeling stuck or unmotivated. It is a simple read. The author has prompted some important questions and has given easy activities to help the readers figure out their passion.

Clueless at 30 is a witty and honest account of the author's professional journey. The author shares her personal experiences and stories of entrepreneurs—the hustle, sacrifices, goof-ups and more.It is a light-hearted take on a millennial’s prevailing insecurities and challenges, and finding their way in the world.
This book is not a typical self-help book but a self-care book.
The book is divided into 4 categories:
FOMO (Fear of Missing Out)
SOBO (Search of better options)
JOLO ( Joy of letting go)
MOFO (Move forward)

Though the title is "Clueless at 30", me in my early 20's can relate to it very well, specially the first part. This book is for everyone in their 20's or 30's. I am totally a fiction reader, I really don't like to read non-fiction. But this book is quite different from any other non-fiction books. It has dialogues and conversation between friends which really made it easy for person like me to read! The language is very simple and perfect beginner's friendly read.
Overall, I really liked this book❤

I picked up this book definitely due to title because obviously I am touching my 30s and definitely yet to figure out many things. The tagline of the book attracted me the most that is “A millennial’s search for everything. And nothing.” The book is divided into four parts and I liked the sections FOMO, SOBO, JOLO and MOFO. It’s the book about witty and honest professional journey of the author. Author started the book with universal statement and question that gives us all nightmare. “Let’s imagine you are 30 years old and clueless in life.” “What do I do with my life? Or what is my passion?” That many of us fails to answer at any point of our life. Accept it or not that palpable fear of being left behind is in all of is. She belongs to a South Indian family. And like all of us there is a familiar pressure of being a doctor, engineer, CA, etc. She took admission in engineering at the age of 18. I liked the chapter “Burned dreams”. I like author’s point of view about love, passion, hobbies and finding friends. Vikram and Sam are her friends. Sam joined family business. Vikram started career in management consulting. She wanted to do a startup so she left a corporate job. I liked her conversation with her mother because I have had same. In the book, author shares her personal experiences and stories of entrepreneurs--the hustle, sacrifices, goof ups and more. It gives us insight and courage. I liked the story. It’s relatable, inspiring, witty and unique in its own nature. I liked the writing style of the author. It’s honest, intelligent and crisp. The language of the book is lucid so that everyone can pick it up. I enjoyed reading it a lot. Overall good one.

Book Title: Clueless at 30
Author: Shalini Prakash
Publisher: Rupa Publications India
Format: Paperback
Language: English
Genre: Self Care
Pages: 214
Book Rating: 4.2/5

Although some people always foresee their future and can figure out everything at a very young age, but most of them, in the case of their careers, are clueless. They experience what the Germans call 'Torschlusspanik'. It means palpable fear of being left behind.

This book is not at all self helpful book. According to the author, this is a self-care book. The author describes the ways how we should treat ourselves better, adapt our reasoning and stop feeling low about ourselves. She has covered four phases of cluelessness such as FOMO, SOBO, JOLO and MOFO through her book. Author Shalini put on examples from her own life as well as the lives of her friends Sam, Vikram and others to realize the phases better. She also demonstrates a diagram based on the above-mentioned phases.

Language is very clear and comical. The cover image is average, not so interesting. The title may blow the minds of the readers. Her theories are very much acceptable and I think many of us handled the same in our lives. Author's own life experiences are very much familiar and most of us went through them. So, It is not unique as well as informational. After reading the book, what I found delightful was that we should throw away labels like 'I am a loser' or 'I am good for nothing' and not be influenced by others. It's a must-read for those who are under thirty and in the dilemma of planning their future profession.
