This is book one in the series. Kay and Sophia live with their dad in Northern California, but are excited when their dad takes them to Maui for the summer to spend it at their beach house. They are excited to see their neighbor friends Noah and Jack. Due to circumstances beyond their control, their summer in Maui gets cut short. Fast forward 20 years, Kay decides to go back to their childhood beach house in Maui for a change of scenery. When a man approaches her, thinking she's trespassing, she realizes it's her childhood friend, Noah. All those fun childhood memories come flooding back. What lies ahead for Noah and Kay after all these years? We'll have to wait for book 2. I can't wait to see how this story unfolds. I was grateful to receive an advanced copy from the author to read and review.

Beginning of Coral Harper's new series. Kay liked being on the beach treasure hunting with Noah. Sophie resented having to go with Kay, but she liked the time she spent with Jack. Then the worst happened and Kay and Sophie had to go live with their Uncle James. Just a taste of what is to come. Can't wait to see what for the next book to start this adventure.

I loved the first book in the new Aloha series! Kay and Sophie live with their dad since their mother left. Home is California where Sophie loves to be. Summers are at the beach house in Maui where Kay loves to be. This summer life changes for both young girls. Leaving Jack and Noah, their childhood friends, they have to return to California before summer's end. Fast forward 20 years and Kay is finally returning to where she considers home - Maui. I received an advance copy of this book from the author and are my opinions. Cannot wait to read the next book in the series! The homecoming for Kay was quite the surprise.

Sophie and Kay are sisters who are spending time at their Dad's beach house in Hawaii. Their Dad dies suddenly and they go to live with an uncle. I found that the beginning of the story, when Sophie was 10 and Kay was seven, was written in the language of an adult even though a seven year old was supposed to be speaking. I found it distracting.The story itself is good. Kay goes back to the beach house 20 years later and runs into her childhood friend Noah.. I'm curious to see what happens to these childhood friends in the next book. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

The series begins with Sophia and Kay, being young children, living with their Dad in Maui. The girls hang out with the neighbor boys, Noah and Jack. Noah finds a treasure map and he and Kay try to find the treasure. When the girls learn that their father is dying of cancer, Kay is determined to find the treasure and get the wish, so she can save her father.
The girls end up moving back to California with their uncle, where they live until they are grown up. The girls inherited the inn in Maui, so Kay decides she is going to go back to Maui. When she arrives, there is someone living there. Noah is the one living there. The childhood memories come flooding back to her, of all they had done together, but we will have to wait for #2 to find out what happens, where this will lead.

I think this new series is quite interesting. I like that the first book told Kay and Sophie's background so I could understand more about Sandcastle Beach. I was amazed by all that Sophie and Kay had gone through in their childhood. I also like that later the book switched and the girls were grown up because it is now twenty years later. I cannot wait to see what happens next. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
