I love Sapna's Sehgal Universe
Sehgal series is my favourite series as of now. And the new addition of Rhea & Nirvaan has won me over too.
Though the sudden marriage premise looked a hit unconvincing the overall plot is worth engaging with. Rhea had interested me everytime she came in the passing in previous books. And from their first interaction in last book, I had been waiting to see Rhea & Nirvaan's story to unfold. Though yes I'm surprised it took the turn it did; quite contrary of what I expected.
Rhea is yet again another beautiful, strong woman of Sapna's world who know how to love. While Keya still ranks top as my favourite Sapna girl, I must say Rhea toppled Raashi to be the second favourite.
When Rhea said "I love him" to Janak at the crucial moment and "is that enough to forgive" to Sameer, she had me then and there. The way she loved unconditionally and also knew to not lose reason & respect in love is one of the best combinations I've seen in a woman character off late. She didn't hesitate in her love, she didn't hesitate in holding herself back when she found her relationship questionable. For the fiery brand nature she exuded in previous books, this one depicts her as the pragmatic, optimistic, mature woman who knew her heart & stood by it. I just love her.
Nirvaan is actually likable and not a downright douchebag, like in most revenge stories. His wrongdoings border on mistakes than sins and he never get way too cruel in jealousy or anger or hatred. I like that about him. When he loved back, he loved back with every bit of vulnerability & candidness; it was truly a pleasure to experience him in love.
Unlike my issues with how Mehak's mother was forgiven way too easily in the last book, here the forgiveness comes naturally & it is explained so beautifully. I could totally get the track & emotions.
I don't know if Rhea & Nirvaan are my favourite love story of Sehgal series; because there are more to come, but I did enjoy the way they loved with their full heart. It was beautiful to read.
Some of my favourite lines of love from the book:
“You feel like dreams coming true. You feel like the delight of finding happiness when you least expect it. You feel like a safe haven. You feel like safety and security to me.
"I cannot live without you. I refuse to live without you.”
I never believed that I’d be enough for anyone. But you made me believe I was enough.
Take me back, please. I need you.”
because she’d chosen him to be hers.
“Have I told you how much I love you, lately?” “You can say it again. I never get tired of hearing it.”
The first thing I do when I open a Sehgal book is rush to the epilogue to know who comes next under Janak's radar. I'm already piqued to see Rohan & Jiya's journey. Rohan has always intrigued me. He was the most understated character so far. He is hardly there in the background but even more hard it is to miss him. So far Rithvik has been my most favourite Sehgal man. Let's see if his brother can topple him. Jiya is too much haughty for my liking but I'd wait to learn more about her before forming an opinion.
I'm also waiting for Akash & Shauna's story. Akash had been way too charming whenever he made appearance. Hope I got the pairing right. And Sapna, I hope you do remember my request for Kashish's story. Waiting for more dear. Don't want this series to end, EVER.
