Z library

I think its good because Ben Ripley has been kicked out of his spy school and has to thart SPYDER's plan. He has to work under cover because SPYDER,the Jersy police, and the CIA.

I swear. If Ben ends up with Erica after everything she did to set him up, the way she treated him, and abandoning him to blow up in Hidden Forrest when they were running away, I’m going to lose it.

This was a very interesting and amazing series. The tone of the story is kind of like Rick Riordan (who wrote Percy Jackson) books tone. It's light and funny, but still very very interesting and captivating. It think these kind of novels might be harder to write, because you want to have your book/series to be popular, so it has to grab the readers attention and to try not to let the reader put down the book. Suspenseful books with humongous or numerous hooks would have been easier to have readers read the whole series or to stay with the book, but with a light, funny, relaxed, and not-many-hooks series, it can be hard to keep the reader from changing a book. The book has to be interesting, original, and fascinating (like Percy Jackson, Mr.Lemoncello's library, and this series) to make a book really popular. Erica threw Ben into an undercover agent situation without even telling him. She got him expelled in the process, and of course they NARROWLY thwarted SPYDER's plans. I would recommend this book to anyone, no matter what genre you read, it's amazing.

This series is just fun and quirky. In this one Ben gets expelled from spy school and the evil Spyder picks him up and Ben isn't really sure what to do, he doesn't want to be evil so maybe he can find out what they are doing and let his friends know.

It's a bit silly but a fun book. There is an adult character in here that reminds me of the guy from Get Smart, accidently saves the day, and screws things up a lot...lol.

Let me start by saying that this is the 3rd book in the spy school series and I think that it is better than the first 2. Getting into the plot didn’t take as long as the other books, it basically got going from the moment i started reading.

Also, ummm…WHY does evil spy school sound like PARADISE!?!?!? I mean living in a house with 3 other kids, an AMAZING rec center, lessons starting at noon and going till dinner? SIGN ME UP!!!

(Side note: does the principal at normal spy school get on anyone else’s nerves 😒 I mean the bro is SO incompetent!)

And can I just say, Ben and Erica, I DO NOT SHIP THEM TOGETHER!!! 😳🤢🫣 Erica is like, 3 years older than Ben, and while that isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it’s just kinda awkward. I mean every time there’s something about it on page, I cringe 😬

Would rate it 3.5. This book was a quick read and a good way to end the 2021 reading challenge. It was entertaining to read but it wasn’t as good or riveting as others I have read. The develop of Ben as an agent was a good touch and it put some things into perspective and I hope the friendship between him and Erica grows as the series goes on.

In the third book of the series Ben is kicked out of spy school and ends up joining the enemy, Spider! As he is in training with Spider he notes the differences…there are only 2 only students. Is Spider that picky? They have an awesome recreation center and a full sundae bar!

2.5 stars rounded up for not taking itself seriously. Our klutzy hero gets drafted against his will in a Hale family plot to find out what SPYDER is doing this time by first manipulating the principal of the school, who is actually a failed CIA agent who was resurrected as a principal cuz what else can you do with a failure in the world, to expel Ben so he could (unwittingly) infiltrate the baddies and discover their plot. This is kooky with about a zillion plot holes, none of which really matter since you really aren’t supposed to take any of this seriously. The barely smoldering romance between our hero Ben and Erica gets moved on around an inch since Erica mumbles something indicating affection for Ben while recuperating from an attack of some sort that I can’t really remember even though I read it perhaps 15 minutes ago. Ben’s friend Mike might be in danger as a security risk in the next book as hinted in the wrap up report at the end of the story. The comedy is wearing thin. I’ll have to decide whether I’m reading the next one or not later. Recommended for series fans but only read this series in order so you know the setting and characters.

Evil Spy School, a fictional-humor book by Stuart Gibbs, serves as a fantastic third book in the hit series. It all starts when Ben Ripley, a second year in a top-secret school for spies, is expelled from the school because he accidentally blew up the Principal’s office while trying to save the lives of students during a capture-the-flag game gone wrong. (Long story) Ben is distraught to learn that he must now return to his boring normal life, until an old enemy named Joshua Hallal presents him with a proposition. Either Ben attends a school for training enemies of the country, or return to his normal life. Ben accepts, believing that his expulsion was faked so he could be a double agent for the CIA and hoping he can figure out the bad guy’s newest plan before it’s too late.
One of the reasons I love this book so much is that Stuart Gibbs kept me engaged all throughout the book with thrilling action sequences, thought-provoking mysteries and sparks of humor. For example, the scene where Ben fights his old bully in the cafeteria was very electrifying, even though I am not usually the kind of person who likes action and fighting. Gibb’s writing was just so powerful it was impossible not to get caught up in the action of the book. Also, another strength of this book was how much thought was obviously put into the characters and plot. For instance, instead of simply making his characters one dimensional and having the plot be like any other James Bond movie, all the characters have so many different levels and the scheme of the bad guy’s actually makes sense and is kind of genius. For instance, instead of putting the bad guy’s secret lair on some island, it was disguised as a gated community in the middle of New Jersey where nobody would think too look. It actually makes sense what they are doing, instead of some clique where the villains are trying to blow up the world. That’s lazy writing! The book also allows writers to relate to the main character even when his situation is so ridiculous. Gibb’s most genius idea in this book was to make Ben, the main character, a regular kid. He isn’t particularly athletic, but he is good-hearted and has an exceptionally big moral-compass. This allows the reader to connect with Ben and this makes the book all the more powerful to experience. Finally, I would definitely recommend this book to any classmate who is looking for a funny, action-filled read.

If I were to rate this book, I would give it a 4.6 out of 5.

This book was amazing!
I know I said this last time, but this book is even better than the last one!
This series just keeps getting better.

Something I appreciated about this book was that there were no unnecessary parts to it.
Everything contributed to the storyline, the vibe, or to developing something else.
However, despite the relative conciseness, I got the scene and felt engrossed in the experience.
The plot was well-crafted, and everything was tied up satisfyingly at the end.
The creative plot twists and Ashley's realistic turn-out also earned my respect.

Overall, I enjoyed rereading this, and I can't wait to revisit the next one in the series!
As usual, I heavily recommend the whole series.

So glad my middle-school-aged neighbor Noah got me into this series! Good YA books can be sophisticated enough to be engaging but lack the REALLY vile violence and overly explicit sex that is so popular in adult fiction these days and that spoils my enjoyment.
The plot was decent, but I what I really liked was the fun writing, and I have lots of "Ha ha"s throughout.
I will read more of this series !

Very good book. Back to the quality of the first book! It had a new plot line and was funny as well as the development progressing well. My only complaint is that a large bit of the book is spoiled between the back of the book and the beginning letter. I'm excited to see how good the fourth book turns out to be!
