This one was just ok for me. Very predictable the whole way through, Kellan and Mia a bit meh. I'm glad that Mia's issues are gone and that she can live a real life now.

Same story line, different characters. This story has been written by a hundred different authors. It was obvious throughout the story the way it was heading. No suspense, no drama, no intrigue just same old same old….I wont be reading the rest of the series

Be prepared for a bumpy ride
Mia lived in hell for three years. Her husband, the sheriff, beat her and the town was so afraid of his family no one did anything. She finally calls her brother in law and she sneaks away and moves to Virginia. After being there for a little over a year she thinks she sees him and hits the car in front of her. She meets Kellan. Kellan is former Marine and now works for a private security company R.I.S.C., he can tell something is wrong so he finds out who she is and where she lives. Kellan follows her and she hydroplanes and goes into a raven. Mia hires them to protect her and Kellan becomes her bodyguard. He has never been tempted by a client before but this one is different. When Mia gets taken, nothing ( not even a concussion ) will stop Kellan from finding her.
Great story. Action. Suspense. Sex. And a crazy husband. Kellan and Mia both have been through it all, so Kellan understands how Mia feels. The end did confuse me just a little but I still recommend it.

Anna Blakely explores domestic violence and its ramifications in Kellan. It's handled well and with plenty of sensitivity. A minor fender bender leads Kellan McBride to falling for Mia Devereaux. It's obvious the woman has been shaken to her foundation and his gut says she needs him or at least his team. It takes some persuasion but Mia finally opens up to the team about her nightmare. Tasked with being her protector is no hardship. He's been drawn to her from the get go. For her part Mia is drawn to Kellan but how can she put him in danger. A climatic ending involving a rescue and the takedown of her psycho ex makes for some edge of the seat suspense.

Fast-paced romantic suspense with a fabulous, complex (and hot & protective) hero. I enjoyed seeing the heroine come into her own after such a rough beginning.
This is a spin-off from her R.I.S.C. series. (It's a standalone story, but I can tell I missed a bit by starting here with the new team, and not reading Team Alpha first.) This is a new group of former military men turned protectors. Charlie Team has some wonderful heroes. I'm anxious to read the rest!

Mia Devereaux ran into the back of ex-Marine Kellan McBride's jeep and he picked up on that she was afraid of something of someone, so his protective instincts takes over.
He brings in his team to help when her abusive husband shows up. Her brakes are cut and she goes off the road, her apartment is vandalized and she is kidnapped. Kellan and his team come to the rescue and they start a relationship. I loved the intensity of the plot and the sweet and careful way Kellan treated Mia in Kellan ~ R.I.S.C. Charlie Team ~ Book 1.

I was looking forward to the start of a new chapter in the RISC series and Kellan did not disappoint me! It is always fun to start with a new group of operatives and the Charlie team has quite the group of characters. When Kellan gets rear ended by a stranger he doesn't know what to expect of the driver but he is completely unprepared for his reaction to Mia. This small, sweet woman with a heart of gold captures his interest from the start. Mia has lived the past 5 years in a nightmare. After escaping an abusive marriage 2 years ago, she has been flying under the radar and hoping to stay hidden away from her husband. The last thing that she wants is any man in her life. Well as with any RISC story circumstances keep these two in each others path and if they both want to come out on the side of a HEA then they're going to have to barrel through! Kellan was an easy, enjoyable story with a bit of angst and action, told from dual POV and some steamy fun. Can't wait to read what comes next.

Way too short. 229 pages, it’s just getting going and it’s finished.
Sorry this book is really not worth £4.29! It’s only 229 pages long, and the story had just got going when it ended! For that price I would expect it to be a lot longer and far better. The team are really not well written. They don’t do anything!
Mia escaped her violent, abusive husband and has been free for two years. When she thinks she sees Elliott (Her husband.) she crashes her car into the back of Kellan’s. Kellan works for R.I.S.C and he has to be able to read people and situations as part of his job. So when she’s terrified of the police being called, he reads that as; she’s on the run from the police, as she’s committed a crime. Wow he’s really good at reading people…. Not.
As more things start to happen, R.I.S.C agree take her case on, to protect her and find her husband and stop him. So a woman who has been badly beaten, and abused by her ex husband is sat in their offices and Rhys (One of the R.I.S.C men.) starts questioning her story, and implies things about her!!! Apart from not being professional, it’s hardly a good sign.
Kellan and Mia are starting to fall in love and living a fairly normal life, as in going shopping, and he takes her ice-skating. 😱 I’m not really sure what the R.I.S.C team are supposed to be doing. They look at their computers a few times, big whoop! The danger escalates and it’s getting a bit exciting then it ends, and the epilogue is about the next flaming book!
I really wouldn’t recommend this book. As there’s so many things that are really wrong.

When he realizes, based on understanding from his own history, that Mia has suffered domestic abuse, he gets his team involved to protect her. Pretty quickly, Mia and Kellan form a bond, but it might not be enough to protect her from her psychopathic husband!
This book is so sweet. I love the relationship Mia and Kellan form, their insta-love, and the experiences they share. The guys of Charlie team rally to help protect Mia, and they pull her in to the R.I.S.C. family. The characters are strong per usual, and the world building is good. This third R.I.S.C. series is promising to be thrilling!
Kellan is a standalone in an interconnected series. This is a great place to start, but you’ll love it even more if you go back and start with the first R.I.S.C. series. Let me know what you think - I’d love to discuss!

Kellan and Mia meet courtesy of a fender bender. Mia accidentally ran into Kellan at a red light. Getting out of their vehicles, Kellan could see Mia was rattled. Out of instinct, Kellan gives Mia his business card. Mia escaped her version of hell two years ago. All of the sudden, she feels like she is being watched. Reluctantly, she decides to call Kellan after her husband, who should have no idea where she is, called her burner phone. Kellan rushes over and they go to his office to let his team know what is happening. Kellan has decided he is going to protect her, no matter what. Luckily, the team decided to take Mia's case after hearing what kind of person her husband is. What happens next is a rollercoaster ride of events and circumstances, that will take your breath away. The suspense in this book keeps you glued to the page. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would. Mia and Kellan definitely don't have an easy road to their HEA. Get this book and see what happens next

Fight to live, fight to love
Kellan and Mia. Not the typical first meeting, but definitely a memorable one. Mia is in danger, but fate is smiling on her as she bumps into Kellan and he can’t stop thinking about her. It’s the first book in the Charlie team spin off and it is great to meet the new team members and see how Trace and Emma are doing. Rhys stuck out to me the most, but I am excited for all their stories as this world is so fascinating and well developed. Mia’s danger was local in terms of domestic violence and not a terrorist or gang, but it also was almost scary as the dv was known by the relatives and town and no one helped due to the husbands position of power. There was some international action as well since the Charlie team was sent to recover an abducted doctor, but most of the story was in Richmond. Kellan childhood was tragic, but did help the connection between the two. The death of the one character threw me the most, but overall I was surprised by many part of the story and engaged for the whole book. A great read!

Kellan is Book 1 and what a start it was!
When Kellan is involved in a little fender bender he was not expecting the driver responsible to be a beautiful woman.
Mia captures Kellan's attention instantly. He's captivated not only by her beauty but he is also intrigued by her guarded behaviour and the fear he sees in her eyes.
Mia, escaped an abusive marriage 2 years ago and has been trying to lay low ever since. The last thing she needs is to draw attention to herself.

What a journey....
It was sweet, swoon-worthy, suspenseful, sprinkled with action, and filled with a whole lot alpha-ness and a few twists and turns to keep you balancing on the edge of your seat.

Mia is on the run hiding from her abusive husband. He's the sheriff in the small town where they lived and his family owns half the town too, so no one will stand against him to help her. The only person who helped is her husband's brother, Shane. Shane helps her set up in a new town and she escapes. 2 years later, she thinks that she sees her husband on the street in her new town and accidentally runs into Kellan. Kellan is shaken by their encounter and decides to follow Mia. Later, Mia has another accident and he rescues her. Kellan enlists the help of his team to protect Mia. But her husband is pretty crafty and there is a twist as well.
This was a quick, suspenseful read and right up my alley for the type of stories that I love to read. I'm looking forward to learning more about the rest of the team. This is an instalove story, the mcs were only together for a couple of weeks and had very strong feelings for one another. Still, it was a good story.

This book is a wonderful start to a new series! I love that while we got to focus on Kellan and Mia, we also got to know a little bit about the team also. You got to see how they interacted with one another and also a little bit of their personality.
Kellan was a wonderful book boyfriend in this one. He was caring and concerned when he needed to be but he was also lethal and in charge when the time came. He was able to determine right away that Mia was scared. This brought out a protective instinct in him that I find very attractive.
I liked the character of Mia. We got to see her grow and once she felt she had someone have her back, she was willing to fight for her life and those that she loved.
I enjoyed the twist and turns in this book. There were parts that just blew my mind in the best way possible. I would highly recommend.

Anna did not disappoint at all with the next chapter in the R.I.S.C. series. Now we meet The Charlie Team.
Mia couldn't take the abuse her husband, Elliot, kept dooling, out to her. She was done and ready to leave him. She turned to her brother in law, Elliot's identical twin, Shane to help her get away.
Moving on and running seemed to work. Mia had a new last name and moved far away. But something didn't seem right. She felt eyes on her. So distracted by fear, she literally ran into the man that would end up protecting her, loving her, but so many obstacles began to become a challenge.
This book is such a great suspenseful adventure. Twists, turns, and sucking turn of events kept me turning page after page. We are also lucky to have some beyond lustful scenes. Welcome to Book 1 R.I.S.C The Charlie Team.

What an intense story. I was so rooting for Maya to finally find her freedom. She's running from an abusive relationship but he's found her. Literally running into R.I.S.C, she's found her freedom if she takes a risk on Kellan. "Better than Heaven", is a great description and what a journey to get there. Love should not be hurtful, it should be generous and kind. Hoping, but too afraid to take a chance, Maya is maneuvering her way through a series of events that shake her confidence and Kellan is offering a safe harbor. It was a beautiful read and I loved the intensity of this story, both the romance and the suspense. Kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through.

WOW! Another FANTASTIC story by Anna! This story is about Mix and Kellan. The story is intense right from the beginning! Mia is a battered wife who finally had enough. Her brother-in-law helped her escape and she was safe for only a couple of years then she saw him and the nightmare started again. She ran into Kellan - literally. From that moment, Kellan vowed to protect her. Her husband was a total psycho as was his mother. He actually killed his own brother. It was intense the book until Kellan finally ended her husband's rein of terror. Once he was gone, these two finally confessed their love for each other and started working on their happily ever after! FANTASTIC job Anna! I would highly recommend this book!

I was lucky enough to receive this book from BookBub. I hope the prospective reader will read this review fully before making any prejudgments on the book. I will give the book my thoughts. These thoughts are completely my own and not swayed in any way by anyone else’s reviews or opinions.
I had to admit that I was rooting for both characters in such different ways. This is my first book by this author. I was absolutely not disappointed. This book is fantastic. There is so much that I just can't even put into words. Now, I have a new obsession with this author. I am ready for another ride. I am not embarrassed to admit that I read the whole series already.

This is my first read in this great series! Definite page turner!

This book is okay until middle that Mia meet her mother-in-law in hospital's bathroom. It is SUPER weird. I mean you have been abused for years by that woman's son and you just go to the hospital despite there's a chance you meet her? And when she meet her she's doing no run and just face her? THEN WHY THE HELL YOU RUN WITH NEW IDENTITY AFTER ALL?!
If you're really really scared of your (ex)husband and his parent didn't really help, then proceed to make fake ID and run to another city, you would and should try to stay hidden as much as you can. Despite the only in-laws care about you is in the hospital! Okay if you visit him, under disguise or something, but this is not. Then why you hide yourself all this years?! So.. soo.. weird. So many question.

Kellan is a fabulous romantic suspense by Anna Blakely. Ms. Blakely has provided readers with a well-written book populated with a spectacular cast of characters.Kellan is a former Marine and now an Operative for RISC's new Charlie Team. Mia escaped her abusive husband once with the help of her brother-in-law. But she's afraid her husband has found her again. Kellan and Mia's story is packed with drama, humor, smokin' hot sexy bits, action and suspense. I loved this book and look forward to my next book by Anna Blakely. Kellan is book 1 of the R.I.S.C. Charlie Team Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliffhanger.

Having read Anna Blakely’s other R.I.S.C. novels, was happy that Anna went ahead to give her readers a Charlie Team and a Delta Team. Great to have another team to get to know. The plot was different. Anna was right I did not see the twist in the story before it was revealed. Mia escaped a violent spouse. When he finds her, Kellan McBride is on hand to help her through. When the team look into Mia’s story they take on the job of protecting her from harm. Read this book to find out how they did it. Will you guess the twist in the plot?

The wait is over
We asked and she answered!!! RISC Charlie team is here and another bunch of badassess to fall in love with. So we watch Trace and Emma fall in love and another team is formed. The new team is all single and in no hurry to fall in love. We will see ...lol. Anyway Mia is on the run from her abusive husband when she accidentally hits Kellan's Jeep. Kellan knows that look in her eyes he saw it many times in his mom's eyes. While the team rallies behind Mia ....her and Kellan fall for each other. However will they get their HEA or will Mias husband find her??

Oh wow. Gripping, exciting and full of suspense this is a story that keeps going right to the end. Fabulous characters, raw pain and fear, violence as well. Mia goes through the wringer but Kellen doesn't get off scot free either. The tension at the climax I could feel it and knew it wouldn't take much for it to snap. I do wonder at Rhys story? he came across as an a..h... for much of this. Not sure quite what was bugging him. Fast paced and it has twists, I just wanted to stop the world and soak it up. Loved it. Started 21/12/21 Finished 22/12/21

Meeting mia
First book in this new spin off series.I was wondering where Trace and Emma went.in the original series a bomb goes off at head office and jake the owner of R.I.S.C gets hurt badly trace who is going to start Charlie team is there to meet his boss and Emma is working reception while the other is off and possible job at Charlie or bravo.we meet them as they help makes team.I thought this book would start with them.But nope they are already together so first one is kellan and mia who smashed into his car.
This story is not original and I thought the ending was fast

Anna has given us a new RISC team to fall in love with. Charlie Team has been formed with Trace at the helm. The story opens with an action packed rescue, but it is not until the team comes home that they get involved with Mia, a woman hiding from an abusive husband. Kellan is drawn to her when they first meet and as he learns her story finds that they have a lot in common. Anna throws in a twist that will make you gasp and ends it with a taste of what is to come. A great series opener.
