This divorcee has always loved collecting random stuff, so owning a junkyard is a dream come true--until the robbery. My unlikely rescuer? An old motorcycle. I repay my debt to the trashed bike by rebuilding it with sweat, blood, and cursing. Because I'm done with the tears. As a member of the don't-give-a-damn forties club, I refuse to be a victim. With my steel wolf between my thighs, I'm taking back the night. And who do I happen to meet on my first ride? The scum who robbed and beat me. I'll teach them a lesson they won't soon forget. Unfortunately, my antics draw the attention of the detective currently investigating a string of murders. He can bite my forty-seven-year-old ass if he thinks I'm confessing to anything but an interest in what's under his button-down shirt. Turns out, there's more to the killings than meets the eye. Apparently, it isn't just cars that sometimes come to life. Impossible as it seems, my ride appears to have bloodthirsty tendencies. But is it evil or trying to right a wrong? I'd better figure it out--and soon--or I might be its next victim. Contains mature themes.
Hello, my name is Eve Langlais and I am an International Bestselling author who loves to write hot romance, usually with werewolves, cyborgs or aliens .
I should warn you, I have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. While well known for my shifter stories, I am also extremely partial to aliens, the kind who like to abduct humans and then drive them insane...with pleasure. Or do you like something a little darker, more serious? Then check out my cyborgs whose battle with humanity have captivated readers worldwide.
A paranormal romance (with not much descriptive romance), a hunky ghost, a silver fox detective, a 47 year old kick-ass heroine, a mysterious junkyard, a wolf of a motorbike, a scared but cute dog, bad guys, some twists I wasn't expecting and plenty of spooky scenes. This is a difficult book/novella for me to rate, because parts of it I loved and parts of it were strange and had me frowning. It was well written, very unusual and imaginative, but I didn't really find myself bonding with the heroine much and the characters were not written with any great depth. So 3.5 stars because it was mostly fun to read and full of escapism. 🙂
You can call me Madame Steel Wolf..if you're nasty...(cackle). Let me tell you I purchased the book but was so so happy I received the audio version as well. You have Allie, Mahoney, Brayden, and Blade. Who would have thought so much action in a junkyard? Not me...This book was so comical that I could not put it down. The bonus is that I'm sick laying in bed and not wanting to turn my pages but then...wait for it...I remember I got the audio version as well. I could not stop listening and/or reading(shocker or both!)so it reminds me a story you would probably here in a bar. "There once, was a lady, Det., ghost, and dog who were who were involved with a entanglement. Someone were going around killing people. Vigilante justice as they called it. Did I mention yet about the Steel wolf motorcycle that could give a girl an instant gratification? Well then, yup that's in there too. I am not going to give away the plot. You just gotta read it for yourself. You won't be disappointed. Eve Langlais made banana pudding out of days old bananas. Genius!
Kind of strange. The romantic relationships develop way too fast and don't feel believable but don't get me wrong, this is not erotica. There aren't any "proper" sex scenes at all. It might be that the book is just simply too short.
The denial of the supernatural by the MC is very strange and unbelievable. Very few of her actions make any kind of sense.
Finally, the book presents a really fucked up view of morality. The protagonists celebrate running around and just murdering people they think are bad for society and even those they just don't like and the book never gives off the impression this might be anything but commendable.
That did not go as I expected! I was actually wondering who was who they seemed for most of the book, as it started one way, then leaned another, and then did a twist. And I loved it! Feels like a contemporary romance, but really isn’t, mostly. Either way, this was a great story with interesting characters and a compelling story!
What do a possessed motorcycle, a nosy detective, and a serial killer on the loose have a common? Me.
STEEL WOLF is a first-person narrative by a forty-something woman who discovers her junk yard is haunted by a ghost and get mixed up with murder and mayhem. Supernatural / paranormal
This latest book by this author involves the supernatural and a middle aged, strong woman who refuses to let life get the best of her. It catches you off guard and reveals a long awaited secret. Loved it.
I was so looking forward to this book because A) A badass FMC over 40 B) Paranormal storyline
But I really struggled to get thru it. The characters didn’t really have chemistry with each other and the ending didn’t really fit the rest of the story (although I did enjoy the implied bloodthirsty nature of it).
Overall, it was just okay. Def not EL’s best work, but not bad enough to deter me from enjoying her other works.
Strange one but made me lol when Allie wanted to read her favorite author Eve Langlais 😂😂😂😂. I didn’t expect Brayden to have actually done all that crime. But it was certainly an interesting read between Allie and Mahoney and then Mahoney coming back with Brayden’s body. Good One!!! Well on to finding another story to read. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜💜😊😊😊😊😊
Gratuitous sex, a backyard with lots of projects, lots of thinking about sex, a ghost, a detective, just all about the sex. At least there wasn't any grammar problems. I don't have anything else to say.
I am not sure if I just wasn't in the mood for this book, but overall nothing worked for me with it. I didn't connect to the characters and/or feel the connection between any of them. The story was a little bizarre in parts and didn't make any sense in other parts. I normally enjoy this author, but this book was a little painful to finish, if I am being honest.
Steel Wolf is an exciting journey from start to finish with a lot of action, fantastic characters, romance and a rollicking storyline. Eve Langlais never fails.
