It sounds like the job of a steal a case of hidden goods and be free from commissioned burglaries in NYC. Except, this time, it’s an ancient treasure chest, locked and hidden in the bowels of a ship set to sail in 1699—as in three centuries ago. There’s no heist I’ll shy away from, no challenge I’ll fear, but adapting to a trip through time, all the way back to the Golden Age of piracy? Thieving is my nature, no matter the year or the insanity of jumping time, but I’ve more than met my match this time—not in the seemingly impossible task forced upon me, but in racing against one roguish, cocky hunter determined to find that chest first.
I wish i had loved the book as much as I loved the cover. This one was just okay for me. It was a fairly quick read. It wasn't badly written, and the plot was okay, a little one dimensional. I guess it just felt like I was missing a lot of backstory...🤷🏻♀️
the cover: simple, clean, drew me in immediately the FMC: Brea- a thief who is in for the heist of her life in a word that's unfamiliar the MMC:Nick- can he be trusted? are they on the same side? i waivered the entire time and it was a side to the story i enjoyed not knowing whether he could be trusted POV: 1st person single perspective HEA: yes spice: mildly spicy- technically open door but not very descriptive. mostly kisses and soft descriptions TWs: abduction, murder, torture, sexism standalone?: technically no, but can be read as a standalone final thoughts: fun, quick, entertaining read with a lot of great elements. i did think the characters were a teeny bit one dimensional and i didn't love the instalove aspect of this book but it didn't take too much away for me. i really enjoyed this story by Audrey Kaye and would be curious to see if there will be a sequel story about additional adventures!
read this book if you love 🏴☠️pirates ⏳time travel 💰thieves/heists 💘instalove

At The Right Time is a cute short romance complete with time travel, action, and pirates (who doesn’t love pirates?) the author has a distinct voice which made the story fun to read. The beginning of the story sucked me right in. I was anticipating a heist-like novel although my expectations fell short.
The writing itself I feel lacked the sophistication of an adult novel, with a heavy YA tone, and I would easily classify it as YA if not for the smut. Now, the smut was good, but I was hoping for more, otherwise the author perhaps should have left it out altogether. Though I prefer slow-burn, which this was not, I still enjoyed the romance, but I felt that it greatly distracted our main character, Brea, from her mission. She seemed far too focused on her breasts and her arousal to Nick to remember that her brother’s life was being threatened lest she complete this heist.
However, for the last few chapters, the action picked up again and I found myself glued to my screen. Thought the “heist” didn’t feel too complex, the story was overall an easy & enjoyable read.
I rarely read time traveling books but I’m really glad that I took a chance on this one. At The Right Time was such a pleasant surprise. The storyline is exciting, action packed and it has an adventurous Pirates Of The Caribbean feel to it which I love.
Nick and Brea are two thieves and time jumpers from different time periods looking for a treasure chest located on a ship in 1699. Not only is the storyline engaging but it’s quite entertaining and I chuckled a few times at the snarky, flirty and funny banter between Nick and Brea. Also, the sexy times were pretty hot. I definitely recommend reading this book.
This book was quite fun and entertaining! The characters are lovely even though they fell hard and fast for eachother but I enjoyed it. I loved the witty banter and just the spunk of Brea and how she stands up for herself. I feel like we didn't get to know much about Nick other then that he is gorgeous and his brother is a genius, but I liked how he loved Brea and cared for her 🖤
It did not disappoint. What an adventure and of course it turned out for good. Praise the Lord! I loved the rescourcefulness Brea had, I guess a lot of years of practicing!
I finished this adult fantasy book in one afternoon reading session. From page one I just didn’t want to put it down. So suspend a little belief, and pick up this entertaining adult fantasy book with thieves, time travel, pirates, villains and a bit of loving all thrown into the mix.
