Harper Myers is having a seriously bad day. Her ship has crashed on an alien ice planet, and she’s stranded there with Commander Tyr — a brutish Dragan Warlord who can’t stand humans.

They have to share body heat just to survive on the harsh world, and that’s only the start of their problems, because the primitive inhabitants of the ice world think Harper looks good enough to eat. Literally.

There’s only one way for Harper to stop herself from becoming a savory snack for the ice-planet locals: Pretend to be Commander Tyr’s wife.

On second thought, perhaps being eaten alive isn’t such a bad idea after all…

This book was a fabulous and quick read and with each page it got better and the characters antics made me laugh as they fought the attraction growing between them. Harper and Commander Tyr are sent on a mission together by the General and his human mate under the guise of getting Dillian Crystals for the ships when it’s there way of matchmaking them together but the commander hates humans and now they have crash landed on the ice planet it’s his now his to keep the safe warm and feed till they can leave. Tyr is frustrated that the human won’t leave him alone but now with wild animals and the planet’s people trying to eat Harper and that’s what brings them closer together and as they get to know each other better what was hate turns to hot steamy desire turns to love. Fake wife check, staying alive check, falling for the hunky commander double check, hot steamy scenes triple check, there is so much more packed into this book and is a must read.

Im only 25% ish in but this one is really... yikes.
The first one had no serious issues but this one...the chicks a fucking lunatic.
Like so problematic in like one chapter.
It goes from her not only molesting him while hes unconcious and then taking advantage when hes basically roofied by venom but then when hes actually concious and she has to explain her assaulting him which he seems to have no issue with and worse it doesnt even occur to her that she assaulted him and basically is a rapist but then shes basically like idk really weirdly manipulating and starts to touch him again and says "use me" and then fuckery ensues shocker theyvesaid like 2 words to eachother and before that he ignored avoided and was rude to her like wtf. Anyway and then shes suddenly doing some daddy kink yes sir etc dynamic with him like out of nowhere? It may not have been much but the first books personality that she showed as an academic and dorky sure as shit didnt portray any of that least of her being a shit friend and shaming astra for her relationship and basically calling her a slut when at least the first book was like a relationship this one so far is a fucked up rapey shitty joke. Like wtf happened to the plot did the author read daddy dom smut beforehand and just say fuck it ill make this trash with zero consent i mean dont get me wrong daddy dom vibes are great but like this aint that. Like christ. I sure hope the rest of the book makes up for this bs.

Anyway its a few days later and while what i reviewed at like a quarter the way in remains true i did manage to finish it out of sheer stubborn will and the fact that this series is a fairly quick read helped immensely but jesus like barring a few very minor good scenes or moments really this was overall like fucked. Not the good way either.

I mean the whole mating ceremony bs the fact the chief wasnt killed for being a wannabe rapey bastard they lost their pod so overall thats not exactly a win then they have the random chick with them which shes not bad she was one of the few decent things in this book but she was an annoying character the fact they still gave all those moron mole people more than enough advanced and dangerous tools to barter and yet still got a shit end of the stick and shouldve taken back the tools i mean the whole thing was a joke. And why is it always fkn perverts like jesus its bad enough females are constantly objectified and sexualised in real world lets not make every slien ever want to bone them ffs or better yet lets not make every alien fkn rapists or like even not outraged by that sort of bs like this book wouldve been SOOO much better if there was a younger son who took his fathers place and they helped him stage a coup or whatever because the chief is an evil little shit and they couldve installed a more decent democratic esque type concept or at least something that wasnt corrupt af but no a bratty female who idc if shes 20 or whatever shes a child talkative af doesnt listen i mean endangers others like nope. There shouldve been a 25 or so male son of the chief who stayed out of it because his fathers rotten and helped harper? And was protecting his little sister from the dickheads under his fathers rule and made a deal with tyr and harper if they helped eachother they got dillian and majority of their tools but they had to help overthrow his father and take his sister with them like and that wouldve involved tyr being jealous when harper spent time with the dude and we wouldnt need so many gross rapey vibe scenes and tyr could see how awesome harper was with historical knowledge of seiges or battles or whatever and she could admire his battle command strategies etc like teaching the good mole people how to fight better and work as a team and have honor and shit like damn i want to read that story a story where everyone is showing greatness they build a believable relationship they nobley rescue this young girl and steer the mole people towards a good fair future. But it was just... ugh. I genuinely have never writeen or read fanfiction but after reading a few books as fkn dumb and unsatisfying as this i can finally understand the appeal.

Also if the dickhead could zap a quick hole with his laser tool to get back into the pod then he sure as shit couldve done the same getting out which means his whole we have to leave the safety of the ship pod thing and walk into a blizzard where youll basicaly freeze to death and its dangerous af even for me logic is stupid af and clearly just a plot hole the size of fucking space. They couldve stayed in their the body heat would be trapped theyd wait out the storm snowing in cabin style but because they kept the ship sealed and it just recycled air the heat could escape so it ended up like a sauna type situation where they had to de robe and could intead be consenual de clothing and any sexy times but idk maybe her scent would drive him or her to lose their inhibitions a little and thats hoe theyd let their guards down etc. Same result way better plot to achieve it. And the jokes of nearly dying of heatstroke during a blizzard or like seeing why nordic people do saunas naked etc and then that being their thing back on the ship like "fancy a sauna mate?" etc like idk they couldve been a battle strategist sorta fairy tail mavis come sun tzu for harper and him being the warrior to end all battles like that wouldve been awesome and their pairing wouldve made heaps of sense. But this? This was fkn weird. And mostly gross slimy feeling. Not wht i want from an alien mate story. The sex scenes arent bad but theyre less mate romance hot scenes and more tun of the mill short smut rinse and repeat for all the books. Like i wouldnt read it for the romance or the smut at this point and well you know what i think of the plot - so while the overarching concept of again shitty skeevy male human captain like ffs give me one good male who doesnt want in their pants inmediately like PLEASE christ anyway the whole concept of hoe the humans end up on their ship and their book universe journey is pretty decent i mean the blob lifeforms were weird for this type of book but i love that shit has real like stargate slash star trek enterprise vibes. But again like thats such a small part of it that means this book if not part of an interconnected series was shite and not something id read. But alas i hate skipping books in series. More than i hate reading a meh af brain bending book of stupiding. So here we are.
I didnt like it i tolerated it for the series.
Is it the most hein thing in existence? No. Will i suffer through another such book in this series? Fuck no.
Will i continue this series and the authors other work? Yes.
Harper and tyr are gross astra and kai are overall fairly decent but more on the meh side of alien mates compared to other series. I dont feel any real emotional connection to most of these characters whether its the writing or just the individual characters are just unlikable. But that defs has something to do with it. If i love a character i can almost happily suffer through the rest being shite.

Written in third person by LUNA HUNTER, Tyr is the 2nd book in the ASTRAL MATES series and follows the Dragan warrior Commander Tyr and his human mate Harper.

In book 1, a spacecraft full of humans came in contact with a spacecraft full of Dragan Warriors. A handful of women took refuge in the Dragan craft (named the Ravenous), along with a survivor from the Torian enemy craft. They finally escaped the anomaly that was holding them hostage. General Kai and Astra Grey mated.

Dragans are humanoids with blue skin, long hair and huge cocks.

In this book, Tyr (Commander of the Ravenous) and Harper (a historian) were sent to the surface of the ice planet Va’Doth to trade the inhabitants for the dillian they needed to fuel the ship. They got caught in a sudden blizzard and crashed. After they reached the surface, they were stalked by a giant killer-bear and it landed a venomous blow before Tyr could kill it. He passed out, but they survived the night by sharing their body heat. Harper took advantage of their nakedness and jacked him off. Before they could progress any further, the Doth showed up and took them to their underground city of Xa’dosh, aka the frozen city.

The Doth Chieftain wanted Harper. After lying about being mates, the Doth chieftain demanded a mating ceremony to prove their bond. (Because THAT'S realistic and not at all eye-roll worthy.) They went through the motions, but refused to mate in public. They did "seal the deal" in private, admitting their feelings for one another, in chapter 15 at the 62% mark. Afterwards, the Doth sent them into the depths of their planet, where the dillian fields were located, but were also the breeding grounds for the killer bears. After collecting the dillian they needed, a Doth girl named Dura (who also happened to be the Chieftain's daughter) followed them into the caves and begged to become a member of the crew, leaving her planet forever. Obviously, dad wasn't too happy about that arrangement, and tried to attack them on their way out. Everything worked out in the end, with all the main characters safe, and everyone getting what they wanted as a happily ever after.

Honestly, this series is painful to read, but I'm apparently a glutton for punishment. The author is an amateur, and it shows. Not just in the many grammatical errors, but in the overall character building and story development.

The book is short, so at least a lot of valuable time isn't wasted. I've always been a firm believer that a romance novel needs to have intercourse before the 47% mark. Anything after that is dangling the cheese for so long that it molds and is no longer edible. No one reads a romance novel for the adventure. Sure, some may "claim" that to be the case. But those people are liars. We read them for the raunch. Plain and simple. And you can tell when the author is inexperienced in the subject they're writing about.

It's like writing an essay about volcanoes. But you don't actually know a damn thing about volcanoes. So instead of doing any actual research, you write about "hiking" because you've hiked Mt. Shasta and Mt. Shasta is a volcano. I get that same vibe in these books. I mean, the effort is there, sort of. But it's just... lacking. Lacking character development. Lacking relationship building. Lacking unique visual layouts. Just LACKING.

"This alien is such a stubborn, difficult jerk. Oh no, we crashed. I'm scared. I'm cold. Let's get naked and lay together to stay warm. Oh, and here's a friendly hand job." Wait... What?! Also, there was a point where the two were kissing WHILE rubbing his cock on her nipples. Now, I'm visualizing this proportionately, and it doesn't add up. If your lips are touching, how is his cock reaching your nipples? Is he curled up in the fetal position? Or do you have the world's longest titties? I'm picturing some saggy ass grandma tits at this point because, how else does that work? Anyway, I digress.

Uniqueness is another failure. I cannot count how many alien novels I've read that surrounded a crash. We need some way to force these two characters together... oh!.. how about a crash? Purrrrrfect. That hasn't been over-played at all.

This book made me laugh. Mostly at the author's expense. I wouldn't recommend this series, though I'm probably going to read the rest. Like I said... a glutton for punishment.

A quick and steamy read! t's easily read in one shot. It has an exciting plot with lots of action, and a grumpy blue alien dragon who isn't fond of humans. But, oh, methimks the gentleman doth protest too much, because when the opportunity comes up, he's like, totally into his human! The plot twists will keep your interest throughout, and I'm totally looking forward to the next book in this series!

Tyr

Tyr is forced to take Harper on a dangerous mission where he needs to barter and acquire special fuel from the Doth who live on another planet. Tyr is intelligent, strong, miserable, bigoted and a dominant warrior. He dislikes humans. Harper is beautiful, an historian, intelligent and talkative. But, she is afraid of her own shadow. A fraught but lovely story of anguished love and determination. 💕

The second book in the Astral mates series a well written story that kept me turning pages. Commander Tyr a Dragan Warlord and human Harper Myers' story of suspense, drama, danger, villains and romance. The story was well worth reading. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Alien warrior's second chance at love

Tyr is unimpressed by the humans considering them weak and frail. Harper is a historian fascinated by the aliens even the surly yet sexy one accompanying her to the ice planet. A crash landing leads to shared body heat and much more. Both are guarded with their feelings but a forced mating ceremony bares the truth of their bond.

Enjoyment-to short of the story

The only thing I have against this book, is how short of the story. It was a good story/plot like the 1st one but I felt the Author had to rush but the flow was on the mark no matter that it was short. The author has been awesome to read.

I still recommend you to read. I look forward to reading more of her books

Cute Series

This is turning out to be a very cute feel good series. Pretty steamy, each story is tied together and different enough to make the books interesting. The characters are drawn well, not complicated, and entertaining. Laughed a few times with this particular novel. It was a good, no angst story. Recommend both books one and two.

See Through

I couldn’t help myself with the title of my review. You will have to read the book to see how appropriate it is in more than one way. You will love This couple, he starts off hating humans and she drives him crazy with questions. The world building was awesome, the natives were a male dominated society with crazy customs. It was an entertaining story.

Quick & satisfying

The book is a pretty quick read. 3-4 hours. The characters are fun, quirky, sexy & feisty. The situations are not that unique but read in an interesting way. There are many syntax errors like using e where it should've been her & repeating the a couple times in a sentence. I wasn't too annoyed.

The Silent Type

Tyr is a 3.5 book. It has insta love, a grumpy growly blue alien, action and adventure on an ice planet, a heroine who is in turns strong or an idiot, villains….Not bad for a quick read.

Tyr the grumpy Second in Command

Harper is a wonderful character and the Historian of the human ship. Careful what you wish for because Harper wants to go to the Ice planet and meet the Doth. Commander Kai sends her with The and the Scary adventures begin.

ANOTHER WINNER

This was a lovely story. There was just enough going on to keep you interested and just enough sexual tension to drive you to keep reading. A little surprise here and there kept things moving too.

Tyr. # 2

I've read this series a little out of order. Or so I thought. I didn't realize that I had already read books one, two, four and now on to book 3 which I haven't read. I haven't been disappointed in any of them.

Poor proofreading before publishing

Excellent story concept.
Poor writing execution.
More like reading a next to final draft instead of carefully proofread and polished final draft.

Love this story.

I love it when one is grumpy and absolutely not into the other of a romance story and the other is in there own little world but they still come together with the deepest of loves for each other.

DNF

This one wasn’t for me. Another book where the heroine doesn’t belong exclusively to the hero. Not too many details given but enough to know she’s given her body to others before the hero and a part of her, including the memory of her first time, will always belong to another man. no thanks.
