The second book of a series that I LOVED as a kid but hadn't read for around 15 years now and I'm rereading now in my 30s.
As with the first one, this has kept its magic as well, though, unlike the first one, this felt...quicker? Smaller? Like things did happen in this book, and important things at that, but I remembered it bigger, more grandiose than it is now. Granted, as I said in the first book's review as well, this is a book aimed at young teenagers, the protagonists are barely 13 years old, so this affects the style of writing. In the end of the day it didn't bother me too much, but I kept thinking about it.
As such, I'm lowering its score to 4/5. I still like it and I hold this world dear. It ends on a cliffhanger so I already started the final book. I'll post a review of that soon as well!
