Lily has had a huge crush on Declan since she started working at Rockline studios. He has taken up residence in her head, heart and hoo ha - he is always on her mind. She fantasizes about him and hopes that one day she will have the courage to act on her feelings. In the meantime she has to put up with her grumpy boss Marco and looks forward to the little moments that her path crosses with Declan.

Declan’s feelings towards Lily mirror what she feels for him. She is the most kind and beautiful woman he has ever met. He hates how Marco talks to her and makes sure that every interaction he has with her is with the respect she deserves. He is hoping to one day be able to just tell her how he feels and convince her to take a chance on him.

Neither of them have any idea of how the other feels, most people in the office do though and are most likely having a jackpot about how long it will take for them to figure it out. At the New Years Eve office party Lily decides to ramp things up and dresses with one thing in mind - to drive Declan crazy with distraction. It works, Declan’s jaw hits the ground when he sees Lily and he is 100% committed to being the man she kisses at midnight.

This is the first story in this new Fun For the Holidays series from Jenn. A fun holiday read with plenty of cute romantic moments and a nice sprinkling of sexy :)

5 of the swooniest and cutest stars. Full non-spoiler review to come soon. Thank you Grey’s Promotions for the ARC in exchange for an honest review

Edited with full review:

J. Sterling never lets me down. I’ve been a fan of hers since I met Jack and Cassie. It’s hard to describe her writing. So for you to know what I’m talking about you have to read it to see where I’m coming from.

So we have Lily and Declan. They both work in the same office. He’s and exec and she’s an assistant. Now, while they don’t work together they see each other often as Lily shares a cubicle space with Declan’s assistant. One thing to be noted is that the whole office knows that Lily & Declan have the hots for one another. But!! And this is a huge but!! Inter-office relationships haven’t worked in the past. So unless they decide to promise to not let a rough patch disturb the office, then they can have a relationship.

I loved these two from the beginning. I loved the setting of the book and the attention to detail. Now, did I think that when these two came together it would be HOT?! No. But Jenn took the spice to a whole other level.

I’m not spoiling this novella. Because it’s so short, any summary I give is possibly going to give the story away. I loved it!

I was provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Grey’s Promo for the ARC.

I love novellas and I especially love ones that have an office romance! This little holiday novella had all the things! Lily has been in love with Declan from the second she saw him two years ago. Too bad he is her superior and office romances have been banned. For some reason, she suspects that he might just feel a little bit towards her too.
Declan knows how disasterous an office romance can be for all of the staff if something goes wrong, that's why he has never let his crush on Lily be known. He's bided his time for the last two years and he can't take it anymore. So when the office has a New Year's Eve party, he knows it's time to tell her how he feels.
This novella hit in all the right places and was as cute as it was spicy. I will definitely be reading more of these holiday books by Jen!

This was a very simple read. The story was pretty simple, and at times maybe a bit too simple. There were a lot of good things, I liked the plot, and I liked how characters that might seem like bad guys might also have a better side to them if you got to know them more from a different aspect. I did have a few issues though, like at times I feel like words were used that weren’t the correct meaning. Like there was a time the word averted was used, but it didn’t really fit for that moment or what the author was, I think, trying to say. And there were a few other moments when things kind of skipped or didn’t make sense exactly with what had just happened.

Like I said though, there were many things I enjoyed. I liked the bit with the movie star at the party. That was neat. I also loved the whole setting of the party as well. There are going to be more books in this series as I posted a promo post for it earlier this month, and I will for sure try at least one more to see if they get better as we go!

Super cute and quick read. I loved Declan and Lily and it was so adorable to read both sides of their story with each of them thinking it’s unrequited love. Everyone in the office knows they like each other, except each other.

When they both finally get the courage to admit their feelings, it seems like everything is working against them. Boy do those three years of pining translate into fiery sparks! These two have all the chemistry.

And I loved how supportive Declan was of her ambitions and helped pave the way with her boss. I never did quite understand his sudden change of heart.

Wishing on fake falling stars for the win; love conquer all. This was a fun holiday romance!

ARC received for an honest review

Kissing My Co-worker is a sweet and sexy novella about letting go of what is holding us back, and going after what you want.

Declan and Lily are crushing on each other and it is kinda swoony the way they finally realise that the feeling is mutual.

I mean, nothing like a New Year's resolution to make you go for it, right?

Although this is a novella, it did not feel rushed like some novellas do.

I am looking forward to more of the Fun For The Holidays books.

Delightfully fun romance
5 stars

J. Sterling is a new-to-me author but this new series of fun and flirty holiday themed stories sounded too delicious to pass up. This first story is an office romance based around New Year’s Eve and is a complete standalone with its own HEA.

Lily and Declan work together at Rockline Studios in Los Angeles - Declan as a manager and Lily as an Executive Assistant in the same office.

The book is written in first person, past tense and from both Lily and Declan’s viewpoint. This means we get to know both characters really well and what they’re thinking and feeling.

Our tale is actually quite a simple one - colleagues with a crush attend a New Year’s Eve party where everything changes. But, boy, does it ever pack a deliciously fun punch. I was sheer giddy with excitement while reading and I could not get enough of Lily and Declan’s romance.

While I loved Lily and thought her a likeable and relatable heroine, it was Declan that stole my heart. He was perfection. The way he talked about Lily in his head - and his thoughts about her was just adorable. But he was also a bit of alright and a little naughty which, of course, made me love him even more. I even revelled in the pair’s worry over how the other felt - especially since it was clear to everyone but them, how much they wanted each other. Happy sighs.

This book is quite short at only 134 pages but I honestly thought it was shorter with how quickly I devoured it. We do get some sex towards the end of the book and holy hell, if you’ve ever fantasised about getting dirty in your office then this is the book for you. It was ‘fan yourself’ hot and just added another check mark in the plus column for this story.

We get an epilogue - hooray - and it was just the cherry on the top of this delicious and joyously fantastic book. I enjoyed every second of it and while I was more than satisfied with the HEA, I really wish I could have spent more time with Lily and Declan, even if they were just doing mundane things. If this is the standard of J. Sterling and the future Fun for the Holidays books, then I can’t wait to snap them up. Hands down, 5 stars.

4 Taking The Risk Stars
* * * * Spoiler Free-A Quick Review
J. Sterling had a great idea; why not do a series all about the different times of the year, work them around holidays, be fun, sexy, and romantic, and not too long. She took this idea and ran with it. The first novella of this series is Kiss My Co-Worker, naturally all about New Year's Eve.

Here we have two co-workers, sort of...as he is in a supervisor/management level and she is part of the department he oversees.
She started two years ago and from the first day...he has been interested and she has had eyes for him. BUT due to past messy office romances at this company, relationships between workers have been against policy.

So she pines for him...He pines for her...but neither realizes they both have mutual feelings.
How will these two come together, and will the matchmakers of the department who see plainly what these dense love-struck people don't... make happen...

A Sweet Fun Quick Read.

CW: a bit of possessiveness, misogynistic lines.

This is a good start to an entertaining series by J. Sterling that follows different couples (I think they will all be standalone novellas) set during different holidays.

This first one is set during New Year's Eve and it follows two co-workers, Lily and Declan, that have been pining over each other for years, but never told each other anything. Of course all of their colleagues know about their unspoken love and attraction to each other, but they strongly suggest not to go for it since previous romances in their workplace didn't go as planned and left the people involved with problems on co-existing in the workplace.

I think this was a fun little short novella, and if you want some fuzzy feelings in this holiday time, it could be a good choice, I just want to point out this is definitely adult romance, so yeah, just know that.

I was entertained by this one, but I have to admit that some lines really irked the hell out of me. The male lead was way too possessive for my likings, and some lines he said about Lily and how she was "her girl" even before they even spoke about their feelings and were still oblivious really did not resonate well with me, but I get that I have a bit of problems with alpha males in general in romance books, so yeah, probably that's on me. Also, some comments made about a woman really irritated me, so yeah I for sure I had to lower my rating for that.

Other than that, of course it is a novella so everything is quite fast, but it was fun beside the things I spoke about earlier, so if you look for a New Year's Eve good time, I suggest you give it a chance.

✨ARC Review✨

This is a story of boy likes girl, girl likes boy, and boy and girl work together. Neither has enough guts to make a move, and jealousy runs through their veins at the thought of the other being with someone else.

Kissing My Co-Worker is the story of Lily and Declan…two co-workers, who finally get the chance at love at their New Years Eve party. For the better part of two years, they have steered off their attraction for one another based on the principle that you don’t mix work with pleasure, because office romances can get ugly. However, getting together at said party does not come easily. There is a barrage of obstacles in their way the entire night!

This was a steamy, yet cute, novella. It is also the first in the Fun For The Holidays series, a collection of stand-alones with holiday based themes!

If you are looking for a fun, cute, entertaining read look no further than Kissing My Co-worker. This is Declan and Lily’s magical story and it’s a book that will certainly leave you with a smile and full of holiday cheer.
Lily loves everything about her job apart from her boss, she lives the people she works with and she loves what she does, problem is she is also in love with Declan, one of her co-workers. Another problem is the company has a no dating policy in place so when the clock strikes midnight on New Years Eve will Lily and Declan get the start to the new year they both are hoping for…….
This is a quick read but it still packs a mighty punch, I adored Lily and Declan and found myself wishing and hoping this couple got a magical start to the new year. Looking forward to more Fun For the Holidays.

I received an ARC of this book and this is my own honest review.

I literally read this book in one session. I couldn’t put it down. There’s something about office romance stories that I absolutely love and J Sterling completely nailed this one.

I loved the way both the main characters had no idea they liked each other. This story was good as it was set on the lead up to New Years Eve and not Christmas. The office party was infamous and I could totally imagine how it would feel to be there and what it looked like.

I enjoyed the secondary characters too, they were well developed and added to the storyline well.

A great lighthearted easy read that I would definitely recommend.

Kissing My Co-Worker is really sweet and fast read.

I enjoyed reading about Declan and Lily and how each of them is infatuated with the other but the other doesn't realize it. I enjoyed the pace and execution of this story. I am not one that normally wants a story that lacks any depth to the story or characters but with this book, Jenn wrote it perfectly.

This book moves at a fast pace and keeps everything fairly surface level and that works out perfectly for this book. It's truly a very light yet romantic read. It just give you happy, lovey-dovey vibes and puts you in the best mood after reading it.

Kissing My Co-Worker is a great holiday romance read.

This was a cute New Years Novella. I’m intrigued to see how the rest of this holiday series plays out. The couple is tooth achingly sweet. From their bashful conversations to how they assist each other in the workplace.

Tropes:
Coworkers
Forced Proximity
Both MMC & FMC are pining for each other
Office Bet (for them to get together)
Work NYE Party

I listened to the audio on Hoopla and thankfully it looks like the rest are there as well!

This was so damn cute. Declan and Lily have been working together for two years and both are secretly in love with each other. With a no dating rule in the office neither have ever made a move, until the company party on New Years Eve. If you’re looking for a sweet, short novella this is it.

It was cute but I feel there was nothing there. Make me fall in love with these characters or give me something. It was 0 to 100 within one page, felt more like lust not love, no true conflict, and literally felt like every other page they were just repeating the same thing over and over. How many times do I need to hear about old employees love stories and why do I know more about their relationships than the main characters of this book?

This was a fun, quick, steamy, dual POV co-worker romance novella. It was just okay for me on audio, there was a weird thing were the interior thoughts of the male lead were voiced with one accent and then his actual dialogue had a completely different accent. It got a bit confusing. If you're looking for a fast New Years read that's similar to Kayley Loring's Very holiday series this might be for you. It was just okay for me.
