Change is the only constant, and not all change is good. The change most recent for Tristan Walker was all the free time he now had after finding his girlfriend in a compromising position with a few other people. He went back to his normal routine of life and had mostly forgotten the indiscretion when he found himself waking on his couch after a bright flash of light, with two suns hanging in the sky.
Unable to stay in the snowy mountains where his house appeared, he must set off and find a new place to live in this world. And he might not have to do it alone either, as he’s not the only one from earth on this new planet. With a weird shop system that turns killed animals, beasts, and monsters into credits, there is a whole system worth of things to buy.
-Warning- This book contains graphic depictions of adult scenes. Profanity is used.
Oh my gosh, the author missed every homonym in the English language. "Press on the break(brake)", "casting its pail(pale) visage upon the town below", "but it was dam(damn) close enough","a simi cirlced (semicircle) up around", "where it would be too unpolite (impolite) to".
These are the errors just in one half of one chapter. The book is rife with these errors. It really goes to show that a spell checker is not a substitute for knowing the language.
Other than that, it is an OK book. Not much happens in the last half of the book, and there is no real conflict after Tristan reaches civilization.
The front end is a throw away section put n to set a tone. The characters are unimportant and the skills that it harps on are pretty much useless. Once it settles into frontier family man, it smooths out a bit. But the very specific difficulties in conjunction with the store where you can buy anything make for an unrealistic story. It feels forced. The characters do not fit any of the narrative, coming off as simple caricatures. This seems like a book that was beaten into shape to fit an outlandish idea.
The start was contrite, guy isekais with an armory, blacksmith, and a woodwork shop...everything just kind of works out for him. Everyone else seems to get f*cked, literally. I feel the author went out of their way to be overly descriptive of the horrific acts depicted here, the spelling mistakes didn't help. I read the void empire series so I was expecting dark, but this feels fethistic. I couldn't get past chapter 5, as it felt weirdly wish fulfily, and has seriously painted the author for me going forward.
It's started out good but the store is a large focus you can't do anything really without it so far im 2 hours in and no classes or levels and you have to buy skills and attributes it's pretty much credits for everything not a fan it's a not so interesting take on wanting to be different that is a big miss.... Im here for the monsters girls why put 2 chicks from earth in here let's just hope they are not going to end up being mouthy and entitled humans are being transplanted from earth this is more of an isekai book not litrpg dnf
The story itself is really interesting, but starts out very, very dark. It's not just our MC that has been transported to a new world, it was the entire planet. Once you get past the first few chapters, things do lighten up a bit, although there's a big winter coming with some harsh realities in their new world. It does lose one star due to typos, homonym issues, etc, but if you can get past those things, it's a great start to the series.
Mixed feelings about this one. Starts out dark and continues so. Then he takes on 4 women + their kids, then even more women with kids. Not many of them terribly useful or even nice. Most of them are just using him and being snarky and possessive about it. As the finisher the last 15% or so are terrible details about building a house. Not sure if I want to read the next book.
An overall excellent story from a new harem lit author. Definitely more graphic in some of the less savory parts of the book but you are warned before reading. Some minor spelling errors but not enough to throw off your rhythm of reading. Definitely want to see what happens next since this one did gave some great combat, it spent a bit too much time explaining the MC building things.
I'll admit the cover itself is great, but this is a much slower paced (yet still captivating) building story than the harem-like romance would imply. I am saying this as it has sat in my queue for a while, but I always would say "not now" after seeing the cover and making assumptions, so PLEASE don't be me and give it an immediate read if you thought the book's blurb was good, because it was only better.
This is a background book, hopefully to a great series. Take all the people from Earth, drop them in a hostile environment, have a heavy harem setting as there are only 20 percent men and on top of that, a system that is more a store than a way to grow your character. The first book ends as the main character gets a house built with plans to start adventuring. A unique start to what I hope will be a growing universe.
Beginning is a bit harsh then turns into an interesting slice of life sort of. I get the feeling that the characters are normal. Not go off and become super powerful but what average people might do. That being said there’s a feeling of foreboding doom. Interested to see where book 2 goes.
So one minute at home relaxing, the next survival of the fittest. Good storyline, need a bit less on the stat sheets. But overall a vert fun and delightful read. Book 2 has a lot of promise and the makings of a good harem and multiple paths to work from. Keep this one going as a nice surprising sleeper.
Interesting idea that devolves into an extremely detailed description of how to build a house with magic spells. Almost a slice of life rather than and adventure as the hero doesn’t face any adversity after the first act. Some spelling and punctuation errors throughout. I might give another book a chance but it will have to come out swinging.
As the first book in a new series s you'd expect a few minor editing issues and a bit long gaming stats but over all I enjoyed it immensely!!! Enjoyable non OP characters, good interactions with all the characters and good enjoyable adult fantasy activities!!! I for one can hardly wait to see what comes next!!!!
This was an interesting and engaging read with a lot of mechanics I had never seen before, but please for the love of Dog get an editor. I saw multiple instances to where the wrong homonym was chosen along with other grammar mistakes such as random capitals.
Stats stats and more stats ,a magic system that’s both complicated and unbelievable. Lots of space spent on dimensions and cost so much so it’s like reading an architectural digest, and I’m pretty sure there’s characters in there somewhere but not a lot of information on them . Can’t honestly recommend
Did old Kingsley lose a bet? That’s the only way I can explain that dumb and entirely pointless bit with his ex at the start. Or maybe it really was a way to set the tone, as the guy turns out to be a crass moron and the theme of this book is garbage. If you think calling the magical system ‘PUSSY’, capital letters author’s own, is uproarious then you’ll love this. It’s crap.
Story was ok, but the grammar errors per chapter were jarring. Its almost like it was written using Dragon speech or one of the other voice-text utilities and then no one ever edited it. If that was fixed, I'd give it another star.
Started off quite promising, then turned into a slice of life day care / house building operations with snarky single moms. SAD! Had quite high expectations after exalted mage, not continuing this one.
It wasn’t as dark or depressing as the books warning says.I liked the characters mostly.Would Of dumped the human women in the very beginning. Can’t wait for book two
This is a fine fantasy harem adventure novel. The story is very good. It really needs an editor to fix grammatical errors. I anxiously await the sequel.
Another good book by Kingsley Khan, another beginning in an interesting new world, cool characters, great game mechanics. I will definitely read the next one!
