Building an Empire: The Story of Queensrÿche

Rate this book
Building An Empire: The Story of Queensrÿche examines how the band evolved from album to album, weaving new interviews with the band members' family and friends to help tell this honest, riveting tale of how five guys from Seattle's Eastside overcame the odds to become one of the most respected bands in hard rock and heavy metal. Paul Suter, the acclaimed writer from Kerrang! who broke the story on Queensrÿche in early 1983, penned the book's Foreword.

Good insight on the band

Liked reading how they started and did it their way to begin their walk (in the shadows). Wanted more in depth analysis or information on the songs and meanings. Overall an enjoyable path down the road to madness of a band making it then infighting and reinventing themselves to continue as a band and solo artist.

A really good read, especially the first half about the ups and downs of Queensryche. I felt it was a little repetitive in parts and the later years were glossed over without as much detail.

Buku pun dikemas cukup padat, sekitar 300-an halaman.

I had numerous problems with this book. It could have been a 5 star book but ultimately was probably more like a 3.5. Still, with Q being one of my favorite bands, overall I enjoyed the history here.
