He’s the man his friends call Mr. Grumpster

After a life working his family’s ranch, Nash Winter understands animals better than people. He loathes social media, and twitter to him is a fancy word for talking. So, when his friend’s sister gets excited over the arrival in Ryker Falls of model, and social media influencer, Luna McKinley, he’s going to make damn sure she does no influencing of young minds in the town he now calls home.

She may be one fine woman, but it’s just not natural for anyone to be that happy and positive all the time. Nash watches closely for the real Luna to emerge. But the more time he spends with her, the more he realizes that the lady who’d once walked catwalks worldwide is open and honest. She also has him feeling things he’s never felt before.

She’s the woman her friends call Miss Happy

Luna didn’t exactly run all the way to Ryker Falls when her old college friend said it was time to catch up, but it was a near thing. Her life was too fast, too crazy, and too much of everything. She wasn’t walking away, just taking a break. She’d fought hard for what she’d achieved and no one, not even the past she’d run from, was taking that from her.

Okay, so the town was full of people who seemed to know everything about everyone, and it had him, Nash Winter. A tall dark drink of bitter water, who was determined to see her for what she wasn’t. She didn’t need him looking at her like a bug he wanted to squash. She’d had worse than that in her lifetime. Why then did he bother her. Why did his touch make her want something she’d never had? And why was he the one she turned to, to keep her safe?

When her past catches up with her, Luna has to decide to stay in the town where her heart now lies, or run again, and not look back.

Can Nash convince Luna to trust him? Can Luna keep Nash safe? The town cheer squad is determined they will find their HEA, but they must navigate the road to true love with care!

I absolutely love reading Lani’s Ryker Falls books. It’s like coming home and catching up with all your friends and family. This book is no different. Nash has been burned in the past by high maintenance women and when he meets social influencer Luna he assumes that she’s exactly the same type of woman. Boy, he couldn’t be more wrong. I loved seeing how their relationship evolved. Seeing Nash become softer and more open with his friends and family, and Luna relaxing and having some fun. Brilliant book. The highlight of the book, for me was Monica and the duck. Utterly adorable. I can’t wait to read the next instalment. I received this book from the author. I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.

I loved jumping back into the world of Ryker Falls and catching up with all of the wonderful characters! It was so fun to see them take Nash into the fold whether he liked it or not! I love the way Nash and Luna spar with eachother at the beginning and watching as it becomes impossible for them to deny their feelings. They bring out the best in eachother, and it was so great to see them find their happy ending. As always with Lani Blake's stories, I had a hard time putting this book down! I can't wait for more from Ryker Falls!

Nash and Luna have very strong reactions toward each other. It is instant hate or is it? Nash has been hurt by shallow woman and places Luna I that category without getting to know her. Luna doesn’t like grumpy men. However they have more things alike than they realize and a very hot attraction. Loved returning to Ryker Falls. I received this book as an arc. This is my honest review

Reaction

I enjoyed the grumpiness of the hero and after finally conceding that the heroine is genuine, starts to thaw and becomes involved in town and with her. It's so good to see the town of Ryker Falls as they lure two more people in. I promised myself I wouldn't stay up to finish, but I lied.

I loved this book! It was different to see the life of an influencer. I enjoyed seeing the progression of this couple's relationship. Of course, the town of Ryker Falls and all the characters living there are such fun to read about. I loved how the animals were worked into the story. It was very entertaining!

Once again Lani has smashed it out of the park with Nash and luna’s story. The characters have such depth and I always feeling like they are friends and I’d love to be transported into the book and hang out with every one. Nash has been hurt be women before and so it taints his view on the world and women in it. Luna is burnt out and needing a change of pace. Together they realise that they balance each other out. A brilliant read and one to add to the collection.

Yet another beautiful book in this series, full of past characters that it was great to catch up with along with Nash and Luna, so very different from each other but so very perfect for each other. There is plenty of drama, lots of laughs, some worrying moments and lots of tender loving times. It’s the perfect combination of everything perfect for a fabulous read! Highly recommended as is the whole series!

Hot and grumpy

I was really looking forward to this book as I have missed my friends in Ryker falls and Nash, Oh Nash, I just fell in love with your confused, hot, soft hearted, grumpiness. This was just the best story for him. Throw in a pony with a duck and this is gold.

As always I love this imaginary town and the people who live there. Loved mr grumpy with a marshmallow heart and his too nice fur words social influencer. Add in some mystery and mayhem and it was a really good read.

Didn’t finish after chapter 1. The writing is not done well. I had to read a few things a few times to understand what the author was talking about. Things that should have been straight forward. Like this sentence: “She laughed, and any hope that would be ugly was lost when it came out a bit gruff and sexy”. I guess it technically makes sense but it doesn’t sound correct. Or this: ‘Four days after his encounter in the florist with the hot girl, as he was now calling her, in the florist, Nash was working on the roof of his house’. Like…what?? What is he trying to say? In the first place, a florist is a person. The author refers to the floral shop as ‘the florist’ several times and it’s really strange. I’m not sure if anyone edited this book or just what happened with this writing. There were a few things like this just in chapter one that I could tell the writing wouldn’t be great.

I also just don’t like a romance when the author stops the story to have the guy describe in great detail just how extraordinarily hot the girl is when he first sees her and describes her every extraordinary feature. And I didn’t get to the girls pov yet, but I guarantee she is also going to describe how hot the guy is as well. I just have read this exact thing in so many other romances. And it’s uninteresting and unoriginal. I guess I don’t necessarily mind that the characters are the most gorgeous being to have ever existed, even though that’s been done to death, but if you’re going to be unoriginal in that aspect, at least write it in an original and unique way. Instead of just stopping the story and having the guy describe her looks to us and how hot he thinks she is. I’d just so much rather characters be normal and have them notice and fall in love for other reasons besides insane good looks.

Also the writing is too obvious. I don’t need the author to tell me what she wants me to think of the characters. It’s mentioned several times already that we are supposed to know that Nash is a grump, that he knows it, and that he’s glad to be that way. I don’t like when characters are that self aware. I just want them to be the way they are and let us as the reader come to our own conclusions. I don’t need everything spelled out for me.

I say this every time, but I really do love jumping back into this series and this world. They are just such sweet and fun romances in a small town filled with hilarious and such fun characters that I wish were real. So this story follows Nash Winters who we met in the previous Story since he is Maggie's brother. Nash has moved to Ryker Falls and is quickly becoming the town's grump and recluse. But no one can remain that way long in Ryker Falls. Not when they are surrounded by good people and friends who are ready to drag you out and socialize. Nash thinks he is doing well in avoiding everyone but that is quickly shut down when he mets Luna. Luna has come to Ryker Falls for a break and to catch up with her friend, Charlie. The stress and downsides of her job as a social media influencer is truly taking a toll on her and it's time to recharge, relax, and figure out what is next. But then she crosses pass with Nash. The grumpy jerk who thinks he has her pegged and despite their snarky encounters with one another, she feels a pull toward him. And him with her, which we learns scares him because he has been burned before. But, when they lay down their weapons, they find that getting along isn't that hard. But things get complicated when the negatives of Luna's life follow her to town. Especially when things take a dangerous turn. Loved this book! I loved Nash and Luna. They were great characters and it is always great to see our past favorite characters sticking their noses in Nash's business to help him out when it comes to his love life. Never gets old. Love this series and can't wait for the next one where it is finally Luke's turn!

Another homerun by this author. Doesn't matter what name she writes under (Wendy Vella or Lani Blake), her stories pull you in.

I love this town and all its quirky people. We have an H who has been hurt by women who want more financially than he can give. This taints his outlook on these types of women. Enter the h and he paints her with the same brush. You soon realize she nothing like his other loves. But it takes him forever to recognize this.

Nasty bad people, amazing main and secondary characters, and a very bumpy road to HEA.

One part of the story that had me in stitches was the pony and duck. Trust me, it was absolutely hysterical, and it showed a different side of the H.

Lovemaking outside of marriage, heat level 4 out of 5. I did get a kick out of one morning they were going to make love and the h says, they have morning breath - made me laugh. Never is this mentioned, and it made it feel more real.

I felt a connection to this couple, so for me it was filled with passion. Lord's name and crude words used several times.

Story has suspense, twists I didn't anticipate, romance, some violence, no cheating, no cliffhanger and steam. This can be a standalone, but you will want to read the whole series because the town is unique. I can't improve on the blurb, just giving you extra tidbits to decide whether to purchase. (ljb)

If you enjoy a great opposites attract romance, then I highly recommend this book. This is the sixth book in the Ryker Falls series, but you can still enjoy this story without feeling lost. This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I’ll definitely be reading more. Luna and Nash shouldn’t work, but boy do they. Nash comes across as a big grump, but he has a soft spot for children and animals. Luna needs a break and is in town to visit her friend, Charlie. When Nash hears she’s an influencer, he’s going to make sure the young people in his town stay safe. Grab your copy and see what happens in this beautifully written story.

ENDEARING AND I LOVED MR. GRUMPY!! I fell in love with two-time loser in love, Nash Winter, and I loved how his small town ignored his hermit and grumpy ways to bring him in their fold kicking and screaming! I admired Luna, a former track runner and how she turned her life around and became a model. Being six feet tall, she rocked the catwalk and started her influencer site, but she had a photographer that stalked her every move and her model ex-friend dogging her with lies as Luna almost always got the jobs that Olivia wanted. Sparks fly when Nash met Luna as he did not want her in his town. It was fun to see them go at it and ignore their REAL feelings.

Nash Winter had been in love twice. Both times the woman left him for a better offer not taking the better man. When Luna McKinley shows up in Ryker Falls he thinks she will be like the other women who used him. But instead she is honest and also nice to him and he is drawn to her. He thinks she will be wrong for him but still reaches out to her for loving moments. Luna has her own problems with people trying to take away her career and hurt her as well. Glad that Nash is around to protect her. BONUS BOOK---Nash and Luna have been married 10 years with 2 children Mitch (7) and Hollie (6) and their home now also has a barn for Luna's work. They have flower fields and she bought the flower shop in town now called LK's Blooms. Albert's Chocolate Shop is thriving and Luna gives birth to Ethan James Winter in this sequel and they profess their love for each other.

Loved Luna and Nash's story, it was a well written and engrossing story of two people seeking to find their own way amongst the world of close knit family ties and the influences of social media in Luna's life. Both are wanting to crave their own niche in the world one is successful and the other is just starting out.  The attraction between them leads to love and so much more, but danger awaits them around the corner in the form of an adversary in Luna's life can Nash and tge people of Ryker Falls save Luna before its too late.

Nash Winter lives in the small town of Ryker Falls and avoids people especially those on social media. Luna McKinley is a social media influencer and travels to Ryker Falls to get away from it all. Nash meets Luna and at first he doesn’t like her but there is an attraction to her as she is different and not who she seems. I really enjoyed this opposite attract contemporary romance fiction novel.

I gave up reading around a third of the way through. The story just didn't grab me. It was boring, and the hero came off as a jerk. It's too complicated to work as a stand alone with too many characters and backstories to follow, plus some very awkward phrasing/writing.

Enjoyed this book. It says “standalone” however, there are so many character couples from previous books that it was hard to keep them straight. I love books that carry previous H / h forward (not all authors do). I’m definitely reading the next book in series.

This book was an interesting read from the beginning to the end. I personally would have enjoyed it more without the profanity, but other than that it was a great story.

Another good book in the series, but somehow I didn’t really feel with the characters. Since I usually love the authors writing, it may have just been my mood when I read it.

Nash and Luna—grumpy rancher and social media influencer. Throw in his ex, her rival, an obsessed photographer, and a lot of small town busybodies, and you’ve got a fun little love story with a HEA.

I like Blake's writing style. It was a slow start for this particular book, but was interesting enough to keep reading, thank goodness. The second half or so of the book was MUCH more interesting!
