Books 1, 2 and 3 in the complete dragons series. It has been written that there is no fear in love and that perfect love casts out all fear. Welcome to an age in the not-so-distant future in which fear has personified itself as dragons whose wrath can only be avoided through loyalty. The light of Love is a distant relic. Into this world comes a twelve-year-old boy named Jack who has heard the ancient teachings of Yeshua which claim that only love can cast out fear. But if young Jack is to discover this way of love and bring light into the darkness, he will face many perils. Phenomenal Christian Series for Tweens, Teens, and Adults! When the news of the newest series, THEY FOUND DRAGONS, by Ted and Rachelle Dekker was first announced, my eleven-year-old granddaughter nearly shouted, “Space and Dragons! I’m gonna’ love reading these!” And love them we have! Each reading brings on discussion and searches through the Bible for verification as well as a deeper understanding of what “being a Christian” really means today. AND THEY FOUND DRAGONS abounds with fast-paced action, unexpected twists and turns, and characters that feel “more like friends” by the time the story ends. It is such a good series that my Granddaughter asked to read it again. AND THEY FOUND DRAGONS is so wonderful, we must award 5/5 STARS and a STRONG, voluntary, recommendation that you purchase a copy of this amazing series, today!
I always love how the Dekkers use analogies to help reveal something about the Bible. The use of dragons portraying fear is powerful and really thought provoking. I love the world and how Scripture of quoted throughout the story and used to strengthen Jack.
This is written for a younger audience making it an easy read and some of the ideas get very repetitive. I also wish Jack wasn’t quite as perfect. Even when he turns Scaler readers were told he was doing it to be redeemed. It would have been more powerful had he actually fallen and was then had to repent. I also wish the aspect that fear is the beginning of knowledge had been addressed since it’s something the Scalers said and is also Scripture. Otherwise, it’s a great, fun read that even someone older can enjoy.

Fun juvenile fantasy/supernatural read! Unpredictable and entertaining. This trilogy reads like 1 book but is split into 3 for young readers (can not be read as stand-alone novels or out of order). I would recommend this book for 10 years and up *** with a content warning of mature topics like death, substances that influence people's behavior, and a character that represents Satan.*** Overall, this book focused on truth, freedom, and love rather than over emphasizing spiritual warfare or sin. It is written simply and easy for young readers. The plot and writing would probably be too simplistic for an older teen to enjoy as intended. My 10-year-old fantasy obsessed reader loved the last 2 books!!
I read some of the Ted Dekker books about a decade ago and really loved them. I enjoy Christian authors who can write good literature without being preachy. I was disappointed then when these books were so preachy. The story was sound: good character development, great stakes, original plot...but it didn't need so much exposition in the area of faith. As we have seen through authors like CS Lewis, metaphor and analogies can be even more effective than just telling, over and over. I was disappointed. That being said, I'm giving these to some friends who are 11 and 14 to see what they think. Perhaps they will disagree.
Is fun and exciting to lay in bed and just read!! It has adventure, dragons, friends, a mission to complete and a relationship with Yeshua. A boy who is distend for greatness and to defeat evil to help his friends and family. A great read for all ages that like adventure , dragons and friendships.
