I was adopted by a widowed police officer when I was a newborn. He never remarried. Five years ago, he was taken from me in the line of duty.
I have one rule: NEVER fall for a cop. Everything about Luca screams forever potential. The entire package: marriage, house, dog, and kids.
He breaks my only rule. Can I walk away? Can I get over my fears and leap into his arms for the rest of my life?
The York Beach series featuring the Cappelli Family are standalone romances with interconnecting characters. Each novel focuses on one couple (no cliffhangers!) and can be read in any order, but you'll enjoy reading them chronologically to learn more details about the family.
Nicole took the long way to deciding on becoming a writer. As young as six, Nicole wrote poems and started drafts of novels. After over fifteen years as an attorney she decided to give writing an actual try and finish one of her many stories.
Avid reader, lover of coffee and chocolate, and animals. If she isn’t writing, she is driving to the field, watching a game or curled up with a good book and a cup of coffee. She lives in the Northeast with her husband and their four children.
I liked this book by Nicole Vidal, I like her writing style and especially enjoyed how she wrote this book from both POVs, that’s my fave to read and she wrote this way very well.
I did feel that some of the conversations felt lacking, and I struggled with the storyline a little. It was good but it didn’t grip me as much as her books typically would.
I enjoyed the characters and as usual with Nicole, felt like they were relatable.
I received an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
This is very much a typical, yet enjoyable quick reading romance novel.
The characters and their history really make the book, as the base storyline lacks a little.
Some of the writing feels a tad clipped, like their conversations are texts rather than honest to goodness conversation. Nicole's swap of POVs has evolved greatly though, and the constant swapping back and forth between the him/her view isn't forced and flows much better than her original books.
If you are a traditional romance novel fan, this book is for you.
