A week ago, Gabriel Grimm would never have imagined that being expelled from the Academy of Magic and turned into a virgin sacrifice would be an experience he was grateful for.
Now, bonded to three incredible monster girls and a charming young Dungeon Core, he can’t even imagine going back to his old life.
He’s killed dozens of guards and brought down the baron, trapping the man’s soul in a crystal. Mated with a hellhound, then avenged her old Pack by cutting down a monstrous arachne.
When that battle almost cost Gabriel his life, he bonded with a feisty werebadger.
But while his allies grow, time is running out for his Dungeon Core.
The stolen crystal is losing attunement. If they doesn’t recover it soon, Gabriel will be forced to watch his Core die. And with her, the beautiful monster girls who’ve stolen his heart.
As they recover and set out after the crystal again, Gabriel knows the malevolent entity deeper in the dungeon is infesting his soul.
Even if they recover the crystal in time, how safe will his Core be with only goblins and kobolds to guard her?
It’s a lot to handle for a mage who spent his whole life cloistered away in the Academy, but Gabriel is willing to do anything to protect his new life.
Good series. Very well developed characters for the most part. I personally think the timeline for the story should be a little longer, took a week to go from place to place not a day. That would enable a broader spectrum of adventures and opportunities to expand the book. Maybe give some more detail on loot and some of the items. Great series to read though.
I liked book 1 and 2, but only gave them 4 stars, as they were good, but not (in my view) great.
But this book hit a bit better for me - the plot is getting more interesting, the story feels to be making progress, and the mysteries in the setting (eg, Swarm, etc.) are becoming more interesting. And as always, the characters and the interactions between them are a highlight.
A great continuation to the series and (in my eyes) a step up in quality as well.
This book crosses them. I am not sure if the series is ruined due to those lines being crossed, but I cannot recommend this book as is and will not be changing my rating if the author figures out how to uncross the lines in a later book.
Another excellent story in this series!! Great adventures, good world building and enjoyable adult fantasy activities!!! I wish the editing would get a little bit better then it would be perfect.
I enjoyed reading this book. A lot happens. The story and characters were interesting and engaging. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next. Especially since it seems that the adventure is going to continue. This is definitely worth reading.
Mc annoyed me to start. But it finally feels like a significant character development has happened and less whining. Really enjoying the story and concept.
Wow, what a ride, I just couldn’t put it down, specially the riveting ending. A lot of issues get resolved, which leaves me all the more curious about what’s coming next, going to find out right away!
The story itself is pretty good. I like that the story doesnt shy away from the violence going on.
Sadly the lead character seems to have a problem where if not in combat he has to chuckle near constantly. It just became irritating to see that word appearing.
This volume finally gives me what i look for in a novel-- a triumph. While they can be difficult to deliver and get progressively more so they are a must in my opinion.
This series is so good! The only complaint I have is what happened to Reyna. She's my favorite of the bonded. I'm really hoping that situation gets rectified.
Following on from our MC’s last brush with death, he goes on the chase we have all been waiting for. There are less opportunities for wholly OP stand offs which I missed, but I really enjoyed this one and recommend it if you liked the first two in the series.
