In addition to Indiana, he's lived in Southern California, where the Pixie Twist series is set, and has served as a history docent on a notable pier in SoCal. In his past lives, he's been a journalist, a wedding photographer, and an adjunct professor.
Alyn gets assistance from his fuzzy familiar (AKA "Lord Fuzzbutt"). When not helping his human with the writing of paranormal cozy mysteries, Lord Fuzzbutt likes to sit out outside and watch the hummingbirds dart about like pixies. He often yowls at the door, waiting to head to the patio for chipmunk duty. Fortunately, the little rodents are craftier than Fuzzbutt is.
Alyn's beverage of choice is dark roast coffee with a dash of honey, and a splash of half-n-half. In addition to being half-way competent with his home espresso machine, Alyn makes a mean Mai Tai.

What a ride!!
Full of magic as expected, but with a generous serving of everything there is to love about pirates, this third instalment of the saga has caught me from the first chapter and let me go only when the last word was read.
The story and characters had me fall completely in love with Misty Valley, making me shed a tear or giggle aloud quite often.
Alyn Troy writing is captivating, opening one of his books really catapults you in a world that you will wish more than once to be real.

A fun book filled with mysteries, magic, fantasy, pirates, swashbuckling, and roasting coffee beans. April, AKA Ebril, is visited by her coffee-expert friend Kyle. A series of murders ensue with them becoming rather more bizarre. Although involving magic, the mysteries are solvable using the clues at hand but keeping the magical twist in mind. The world-building, characters, plot, historical references, Welsh language, and events are fast-moving, well written, and are good fun.

Delightful
There is so much imagination going on in this book that it pulls you in from the first page. This book includes the amazing world of pirates of old which was excellent. The characters are likeable with lots of great dialogue. I loved the interactions of Punkin and Pierre. I'm excited to see what new story comes from Alyn Troy next.

As good as a double shot of espresso
I have read all three of the books and loved them. The characters are likable, the story fun, and I find myself staying up all night to finish them. I look forward to the next installment.

One word: Pirates!!!

Once again, murder & mayhem in the village. Ebrel has a visitor, Kyle, a barista & coffee roaster, come to teach her how to use her machine. He’s mundane, but, of course, Punkin overdoses on coffee beans & talks to him! So he takes a vow not to talk about all the magic & can enjoy all the “fun”. First one food critic arrives in the café & it becomes clear he’s a ghost. The food critic who was expected does arrive & enjoys the coffee & cakes, but, so much turmoil he’ll come back tomorrow! By then he is dead! A pesky woman arrives with a familiar Pierre, a Pomeranian. The place is alive with pirates as well & then two more murders. This is a really fun book to enjoy. Punkin isn’t all that happy at the end of the book!

April grows in her power , Punkin is still the well loved coffee bean addict , The take on this story is refreshing it reads as a 'stand alone'.(most cozy writers keep repeating the pattern over and over and over)
Oke what playing this time : 2 dead food critics, a fleet of pirates
( some will not sail away unfortunately ) ,
a snarky Pomeranian dog,
a wanna be food critic.....and a spell gone terribly wrong .
And lets not forget about the zombie pirates......
Grab a cup and let's set sail !

May 23, 2022Ebrel is stressing because a well-known food & drink critic is coming to Misty Valley. Mr. Fedimore is very particular when he does reviews & they can make or break a Cafe'. Elain, her friend is there to so Ebrel feels a little better. Roger, the delivery man brings in the newpapers & lets everyone know there's a body in the alley behind the Cafe'. Owain arrives to get the details & then more bodies start to arrive. Things go from bad to worse with no idea who is responsible & why all the people are being
killed. In the end several groups band together to stop the perpetrator once & for all.

Every time I read a new book by this author, I am pleasantly surprised at how fast I finish the book. The story line flows so smoothly that I am halfway through the book before I know it. Ebrel/April is a good person as well as a great witch in training. She gets more on the job training than formal training. Her days and nights are filled with danger and yet she finds time to create lasting relationships. The pixies antics always crack me up. It would be wonderful to transport myself to this wonderful Welsh town and join in the adventures.

Fantastic storyline
I downloaded the book from Kindle Unlimited and I couldn’t get enough of it. So I have downloaded books 4-6. A lovely little tale of pixies, trolls, witches and murder!! Ebril (April in Welsh) is a barista who makes amazing coffee but she’s also an amateur sleuth, which is really handy considering in her first few weeks she not only discovers a dead body but is involved in 3 other murders. Quirky little books that caused me lots of lost sleep as I couldn’t put them down. Go treat yourself. You won’t regret it.

Very busy
Too many murders, and a few too many storylines. It felt like I was switching tv channels to fast. We have the coffee shop, unrelated murders, a mundane (human), from New York, pirates and on and on. Maybe if I drank too much coffee this would be good. It's like a child, relating a dream that just doesn't make sense. Good ideas, that could have been two or three books instead of mushing it all together in one. Sorry.

Great cozy mystery
I really enjoyed reading this third book in this series. It was fun reading about pixies, trolls, witches, zombies and pirates all living in a quaint Welsh town and solving a mystery to boot. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys cozy mystical mysteries.

Well worth reading

So fun
I love these boo,books, they are light and fun to read. You get mystery and murder but it doesn't drag the mood down of the book. I really enjoy the cast of characters and get excited to read the next book.

In this book we have two separate murderers and reasons for the murders and sometimes that’s one too many. I really like these characters and I have enjoyed the series. The author has a great imagination and she can write a well crafted, twisted story no need to double dose us.
