Rate this book
The stunning conclusion to Erin Locke's trilogy has arrived.Lockey’s community continues to expand, but clashes with other survivors increase with equal intensity. Reunited with old friends and new ones accepted into their fold, things take a dark turn when the Nomads take a personal interest in Lockey. Selected by some unknowable force to lead one of humanity’s last bastions of defence in a global war against the dead, the Dark will use any weapon to ensure her failure. As Lockey and Nate search for the final member of their mystical trio, their dreams haunted by ghosts of the fallen, the Nomad threat intensifies, putting Lockey’s heart through its most fearsome crucible yet.Despite the eruption of conflict with the Nomads, Lockey’s confrontation with Maddock is inevitable, as both are marked as champions for the powerful forces at play. Countless lives depend on the outcome; one a burning flame of hope for humanity’s continuing survival, the other a menacing general of the dead. Only by dethroning Maddock can Lockey and Nate’s community have a chance to build something better from the ruins of their shattered world. For the survivors caught in the crossfire, the stakes could not be higher; hope for a future, or a spiral into dark oblivion.Because one way or another, the Devil will get his due.

Amazing!

Another amazing entry into the Lockey and Adrian world! I do hope there happens to be another in the future, and I hope even more for a mash-up between Philbrook and Meadow’s characters! These books - including this new entry - are so ripe with character and heart. That’s what really makes books like this one stand out in the midst of so many sloppily written zompoc novels - these books show the good parts, the hope, the humanity, the humor, the human elements. They aren’t just disaster after disaster pieced together with no character development. These stories are about the humans and their relationships, and they happen to be set in a world being overrun with zombies and other terrible humans. I absolutely love how everything worked out in this one - where everything went, how it all progressed. Very well done!

What a great finish to the series. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Grew to love Lockey - possibly more than Adrian. Pleasing connections with, and nods to, AUD. Great good versus evil finale. Funny. Sad. Well-written. Great plot and characterisation. Downright entertaining. I want more. I’d love Adrian and Erin to meet!

I absolutely love, love, loved this book - actually the entire series. I love the Adrian’s undead Diary series as well but, let’s face it. Lockey is at least as cool….maybe a little bit cooler actually, than Adrian. Can’t wait for more!

Book three of Adrian’s Undead Diary fan fiction writer, Carl Meadows, Lockey Vs the Apocalypse series.
In this book Lockey and Nate continue to develop their buddy friendship with Nate giving us his backstory and new characters coming into play.
Without giving up the plot let’s just say that this story deals with confession and redemption, learning to trust, good vs evil, the importance of family and recognizing that family is not necessarily blood related but rather people who choose to step up.
Lockey is still irreverent, potty mouthed and fierce but she’s a little more mature in this book.
It wraps up a lot of plot points and concludes while leaving the door open for more installments.

This is a 4 1/2 star effort, but I rounded up to five. It's a perfectly satisfying ending to a great trilogy, but isn't quite as good as the first two IMO. Same fantastic characters, same collection of smartassery and bell ends, but it just seems to missing that special something that I've come to expect from Lockey and company. Maybe I'm just bitter because it's over and I'm not ready to let go...

Almost skipped, SO HAPPY I DIDN’T!!

Wow. In the beginning I was like no, I’m going to skip these and just stick with Adrian. Holy hell. I’m glad I didn’t. Absolutely great addition to AUD from a heroine’s perspective. Learned some new phrases (probably can’t put here), grabbed some new quotes for future use and fell in love with a new set of characters. Bravo Carl Meadows!! Excellent.

Love Lockey!

Lockey and Nate are up to their eyeballs in drama of one type or another.
Carl Meadows has a hit on his hands with this series. His character development is top notch and his storyline is compelling. If you have the time, read this series, heck, make the time, you won't regret it.

Can never have too many stories about Erin “Lockey” and her romp through the zombie apocalypse! Does she always do what’s right? No. Does she always have a good plan? Also no. But does it somehow always work out in the end(thanks to her amazing partner in Apocalypse Nate!)?? Mostly!

Solid tale

As trilogies go, this one rocked. Erin is a breath of fresh air in a world that stinks of death. Someone needs to go adopt 12 black cats... or at least one of them. :)

Again, the narrator is a wizard and bringing everyone off the page and making you love them (or hate them). The author makes this possible with his amazing and insightful writing. I can't recommend this high enough.

Just listened for the 2nd time. What a prophetic book for what we need in the world today. I didn’t think I could like it more, but I do.
