Margot Goode, healer extraordinaire, knows that being noticed is the fastest way to getting herself murdered — or worse. But even with a secret like hers, she can’t stay cloistered forever. On her own in San Francisco, she’s on the hunt for the one person who can stop her magic from turning against her in a catastrophic meltdown.
Margot doesn’t expect things will be easy, but even she is surprised when someone plants a bomb in her Healing House, nearly killing her and wiping out her anonymity in one fell swoop. Attacking a healer is an egregious breach of the laws that keep the races from war. Attacking Margot Goode, granddaughter of the terrifying Goode Matriarch and leader of the most influential coven in the country, is not just blasphemous — it demands retribution.
Theodore Solbourne, newest sovereign ruler of the largest Elvish territory in the West, has waited his entire life for the woman he will one day claim as his consort. With the power to keep her finally in his grasp, he’s planned their meeting down to every last detail… only to have all the carefully crafted steps in their courtship blown away when she’s nearly killed before he can even say hello.
With her life and his kingdom on the line, there’s no time for subtlety. Earning the trust of the woman he’s been mad about his entire life just became much harder: the speculation of war is sweeping through the city, a goddess’s acolytes call for justice, and a traitor’s shadow looms over his household. But nothing, not even Margot’s single-minded determination to keep him out, will stop him from winning her heart.

Frankly, the first 20% of this book, it was a complete 5 stars for me. I think it sets the story and the characters very well and I was so excited to read more about this world.
Unfortunately, nothing of such happened. The novelty and charm I found in the first 20% failed to pique my interest. I found the story to drag and literally NOTHING HAPPENED. The rest of the book is so uneventful and lacking in cohesion to shape up the rest of the of the plot. Honestly, I was left madder than disappointed. The bone of the story is there but the plot failed to make this book interesting.
Who doesn't love a virgin hero who has saved every sexual experience for his future mate? He has never even kissed another woman.
The story was so well done. The world building was really fun. I really enjoyed having references to San Francisco and surrounding area but it being completely magical as well.
The character and relationship development were amazing! I love how Theodore knew she was out there for the longest time and waited for her.
This was a really interesting view of fated mates. While I really enjoyed the consent in this, and I get the idea of the elves being less isolated, I am always uncomfortable with the world where fated mates take precedence over promises. That's something a little disturbing in the world building, but doesn't show up in this book for the main characters. There's the idea that there's someone perfect for you and you should break up your marriage to be with that one person and if you don't fulfill the pull to be with that one person you'll go crazy. Thankfully it's not a main story plot. But i am a big fan of the one you choose is the one you stay with rather than having it change of you meet the "right" person.
Safety deets - No 0W. The heroine gets hit on by others, but she does not take them up on it. - dual virgins - Consent is fabulous! - HEA is shown, but the epilogue's are only a few months out.
I had a hard time with rating Consort's Glory. There are many elements I really enjoyed, but the first part of the story bogged me down to where I almost dnf'd it several times. I think there were too many details used, sometimes repetitively, that disrupted the pace for me. I continued because the main characters, Theodore (Sovereign of his territory and an elf) and Margot (a witch with a lil more added in), are likable, interesting, and the romance was really sweet. The world is also well-crafted (although I read the novellas that came before this story; there's also a glossary at the end of the book) and has so much potential for other stories. About halfway through maybe, the story clicked for me and I flew through the rest of the book. The story is written in third person, dual POV. No ow/om drama, both are virgins (she's his first everything), and no bc.
Theodore and Margot are great main characters. She's strong, but vulnerable and he's the largest predator in the room that's a cinnamon roll for her. He's known he's had a soulmate ever since she was born, although he didn't know who exactly she was until more recently. Even though Margot knows she has someone out there to bond with, she takes time to believe that it's Theodore. Her hesitation and one of her decisions based on that did make me roll my eyes at her and she has a brief venture into TSTL territory. Still, she was raised to fear a part of herself and specifically if that part was discovered by certain people, like the elves. How Theodore builds that trust was excellent. It does take time for the steam to develop because of the distrust and the wooing, but it definitely gets explicit and despite their inexperience, they figure out quickly what works for them. This book also packs in some significant emotions and the author does have a trigger warning listed in the back of the book (which I personally thinks needs to be in the front).
Along with the relationship, there's danger and suspense because Margot's attacked early in the book. Theodore's reign could be under attack both because of that threat and because he's been challenged already multiple times. Politics play a role throughout the book and sometimes are a bit complicated to follow when a group is first mentioned because this world is complex and involves lots of species and territories. Margot and Theodore's love ends up changing the world, not just for them.
Side characters pop up in several parts of the story and I think there are stories in the future for many of them. There's the coyote alpha who's flirty with Margot but somehow connected to Theodore's cousin, Theodore's half-brother Kaz who's an orc/elf halfling (we met him in the novellas), Theodore's self described mentor and leader of the dragons (also introduced in the novellas and I really want his story), maybe Margot's cousin and future leader of her coven. All of these characters are also different species so will have different courtship processes and may or may not have fated mates. There are also other elf side characters, some were creatures, and more witches. This novel has a full cast.
The story does end with a HEA, there's zero doubt in this romance. There are two epilogues and while I really liked them, both are several months after the end of the book and I hoped for something more extended, which is just always my preference. I'll definitely check out more of Ms. Kelly's stories.
The romance was good and the H was great (he is 5⭐️).
My problem with this book was the h
For half of the book she was so annoying and was always suspicious and mean even though everyone was nice to her. Every time the H told her that he was her bondmate, she rejected him and didn’t believe him even with all the signs but she was so stupid. When it became clear to her that he was really her mate and they finally bonded she kept rejecting him and run away from him. She was lost in her fears and insecurities throughout the book which made reading her inner monologue exhausting. __________
Safety:
— h (25) / H (35) — Fated mates (Elf x Witch) — He fell first and harder (he had been pining over her for 25 years) — Obsessed H
“Theodore’s life could be split into three epochs: before Margot, waiting for Margot, and loving Margot. The last was, by a wide margin, the most pleasurable.”
— The H pursue the relationship — Push from the h until about 50% — Dual virgin : ~ The H knew that the h was his consort/mate since her first breath so he had waited for her for 25 years 🫠 I loved the fact that he was completely obsessed with her and saved himself for her 🫶🏻. ~ The H has never been with any woman before (the h was his first in everything).
“You… I know you said you hadn’t done other stuff with people before, but you kissed someone before me, right?” “No, I’ve known you for twenty-five years, darling. Kissing anyone else when your soulmate lives in your head would have felt wrong. I wouldn’t kiss anyone else when I knew you were mine.”
~ Virgin h but had her first kiss with someone else.
— OM: Her friend was flirting with her. The h was attracted to him at the beginning and wished he was her bondmate
(This was before she met the H)
“Margot found herself leaning into him when he put his arm around her shoulders. Touch hunger, a weakness she could very rarely indulge, crested in a great, selfish wave to overtake her good sense. She had only known Viktor a few months, but even with his relentless flirtation, she found comfort in his steady presence, his unwavering calm. He was a man used to leading a massive pack of coyote shifters. He had to be a bastion of calm confidence. She was drawn to that sort of competence, that easy authority. It reminded her of home and satisfied something in her she didn’t want to think about too hard. He was also kind, with an unswerving sense of loyalty to his people, and Margot happened to enjoy his flirting, even if they both knew by now that nothing would ever come of it. Staring up into the handsome angles of Viktor Hamilton’s face, she asked herself again Why can’t it be you? I’d kill to belong to someone like you. Not because he was handsome, but because he was kind, funny, and fiercely protective of those he loved. With him, she would never have to worry about what the world would do if her secret got out. He would keep her safe. He would love wholly, without shame or boundary. He would accept her. All of her.”
OM doesn't cause any drama but the H is jealousy (they were best friends and OM is the H’s cousin's mate).
I wanted to like this book so much that realizing I didn't like it hurt so much worse.
It kills me because Abigail Kelly has talent. Absolutely. There were lines in here (descriptors, dialogue, insights) that caught my attention in a are-we-sure-this-is-KU? way. For a few minutes, I had that same glimmer of hope that I've only rarely experienced: maybe I'd found one! An author pre-fame. One of those gems with a handful of long, published books I could sink my teeth into.
The potential is surely there, but this book was a let down. The angst was so unnaturally created and extended to the point where it got absurd. To clarify: you can buy it at first, but eventually the only thing holding the plot together is the protagonist's aggressive, stubborn insistence on holding The Stupid Card.
Here's what I mean:
Protagonist (Margot): I'm dying. I need to find my bondmate or I'll die. Love Interest (Theo): Hi! I'm your bondmate. Margot: No, you're not. Theo: But I am. I can prove it in about five different ways. Margot: No. No one like you could possibly want me. Theo: ...but I can literally prove that it's true. Margot: No, you must be mistaken. I know that I feel strange around you and you sure do touch me a lot and let me into the unbreachable privacy of your personal apartments and seem obsessed with my wellbeing but I'm a genius, hail from one of the most famous witchy bloodlines that exist, supremely magically gifted, help the poor, serve the needy, beautiful, and well-connected. Who could possibly want me?
It was like trying to have a conversation with someone who insists--while blinking--that they do not have eyes. The truth is so obviously true that it's offensive.
And it doesn't stop there. Margot carries around a Big Secret that she's terrified to share, and it's dangled like a carrot to keep up some pretense of conflict. Meanwhile, the more you learn about Theo, the more you're convinced Margot could eat his mother's still-beating heart as she danced on his father's crispy bones and Theo would still beg on his knees for the chance to kiss her left pinky toe. He's obsessed. And meanwhile, Margot's just a flat-earther of a human being, just...adamantly allergic to facts.
I could go on, but I won't. I will definitely peek at her other stuff just to see if maybe she ironed out the writing kinks. I love the world she created. I like the tropes she applied. She's so close to being my jam that I have my toast and knife at the ready. Unfortunately, today was not the day.
I’m wavering between 4 and 5 stars on this one. Also, I’m rusty with writing reviews and it’s the middle of the night because I can’t sleep, so this is going to be a jumbled mess of thoughts, and a bit spoilery.
This book was so fucking sweet - it had me tearing up from the sweetness overload. I absolutely loved the feelings I got while reading it. The hero was everything here. The way he loved the heroine for her entire life was just everything. 🥺🥺🥺 He did *everything* for her, from the time he felt his connection to her, even though he didn’t really know who she was. This is what a true mates story should be - not the bullshit that’s written so often with true mates sleeping around even after sensing each other. No, this hero stayed a virgin until 35 because he knew he had a mate out there somewhere. Perfect. 🤌
For basically 90% of the book, I was floating on cloud 9 while reading. Unfortunately, I felt like the author lost the plot a little at the end. She didn’t explain her big revelations very well - or the motivations behind them. That’s so frustrating for me, because this book was just so excellent otherwise. But I think she ultimately couldn’t unravel the complicated web she herself weaved.
She came up with this big backstory that made the heroine who she was, but the motivation for the heroine’s family to have treated her like they did was flimsy. It felt like a cop out because she couldn’t think of a better excuse.
Also, the heroine talks about how powerful her gift is and how someone could use her for her gift - but we aren’t actually shown any of that. It would have been great to see just how powerful she is, or how the hero could then channel her power into something special. But… nope. 👎
My final gripe is that the author included a deleted chapter at the end of the book, which really should have been included in the story. It felt like it explained so much of why the hero’s sister did what she did. It’s a somewhat frustrating read because she wrote the hero as being angry, even after the excellent explanation. Def a weird, and nonsensical choice. But either way, that chapter basically tied a good 50% of unanswered questions together, and she deleted it? Girl, why?
Anyways, excellent book - but this author needs to plan her backstories better. The heroine’s whole backstory just felt unbelievable and not well thought out. Also, can I just throw in - why was her time spent secluded so anticlimactic? There’s allusions to her being tortured, but then she finds the people responsible and she’s instantly fine with it? Wut?
Safety is perfect, both virgins. 🙌

“Sometimes love was like walking down a dark staircase and missing a step — terrifying, unexpected, with a quick drop and breathless landing.” CONSORT’S GLORY by my favourite author of 2022 Abigail Kelly
What can I say about a book I was absolutely FLYING through because it was so much my cup of tea (or flower water IYKYK) that I paused my reading, took a not so mini breather so I could then start it from scratch and still flew right through it??
I am an absolute sucker for these two (Teddy 🥹 and “his witch” Margot 😍). I loved them as individuals and this made it all the more sweeter when they came together 🥰 but also 😏.
I adore Abigail’s writing, there’s such thought and care given to every single moment on these pages. There’s just so much love for the work that it makes me endlessly happy and so proud that this now exists in the world!
I also have to say that this is one of the most romantic books I’ve read in a LONG time. Saying it’s romantic doesn’t mean there wasn’t the kind of DELICIOUS tension that I love so much, it’s just that there’s even more to that tension. For me it made the story shine even brighter 💫
Okay one more thing because I could go on and on forever. The world building is FANTASTIC! The political landscape has me obsessed and I want to bask in the company of every single side character that was introduced. The side characters are so good that they reminded me of how I felt reading Crescent City and House of Sky and Breath by @therealsjmaas I just kept wanting MORE MORE MORE. More time with these characters, more about their day to day lives, and more romantical entanglements please and thank you.
Congratulations, well-done and don’t ever stop @worksbyabigail

He's one big simp and I LOVE the gentle and sweet ways he treat Margot. The world building and the characters are immaculate 🤌 We get to learn about the different species such as the shifters and weres alongside the secretive elves. It looks like we'll be getting a sequel for Viktor and Camille with history between these two 👀👀 Can't wait!
This book was so strong and heart warming at the same time. I loved the world building, it was unlike anything I had read. I loved the characters so much too. This was really different and a change that I needed.
Margot and Theodore were a cute couple with an essentially Instalove connection. I’m still on the fence about their connection since she was born, but it was less weird when they didn’t actually meet until she was 25. Theodore was intensely possessive and protective, but Margot was strong enough to push back when needed. She was emotionally closed off in the beginning, but with her trauma it made sense. Their trust in each other was lovely to see developing and they had genuine care for and understanding of each other. The political machinations were interesting, though not as climactic as I was anticipating. Overall, a well written book.
Spice: 3/5
Triggers: death, potentially terminal illness, blood, bomb explosion, malnutrition, semi-toxic family dynamic, familial estrangement, parental death (past), abusive and violent parent (past), mentions of elves eating witches in past, isolation, body modification, side character infertility, jumping out of moving vehicle, poverty, speciesism
Teddy is my new book boyfriend. What can I say, I like big handsome men with diamond claws and sharp teeth. A growly alpha AND a sweet, tender lover that likes to cuddle? Yes please. FMC was also very endearing. Margot won’t be bossed about and Teddy likes that about her:
“I have no reason to do as you say, sir,” she shot back. “No,” he agreed. Heart hammering, he gave in to the impulse to skim her cheek with the backs of his claws. “But it might be fun.”
The world building is a cut above the rest. More favorite quotes:
“Elves love to cuddle.”
“Reaching down to gently haul Margot out of her seat by her upper arms, he ignored her squeak of protest and grinned down at her with all his deadly fangs. “Well, my darling witch,” he rasped, “what do you say we go mete out some justice together?”
“It didn’t matter that just being near him made her heart race. It didn’t matter that the beast in her wanted to bite him and lick him in turn, a reaction it never had to anyone else. ”
How come this one has all the high ratings here and only a 1-star rating on Amazon? What's going on? My girl, Ruby recommended this so I am giving this a fair try but seriously confused about Amazon ratings. I generally rate books in GR only, but I really feel bad by looking at Amazon rating - that is the reason I don't trust it, at all but I am thinking, it can't be good for the author. :(
Spoilers ahead, 1.5* for Teddy though I hated his name
I'm not doing my usual detailed review because this was the most frustrating and pointless book I've read in a very long while! If I had to rate this based on Teddy it'd be 5 years but 1 star for him
The good The H! He realised his consort was out there from a young age and he never even kissed another woman in the 25 years it's taken him to find her. Loved him
The not so good The h Margot frustrated me so much that at one point I wanted something to happen to her 😒 for over 60% of the book we know 2 things about Margot She's got a great big secret No matter how wonderful, sincere and dependable the H is she absolutely can't be with him 😒😑
1)Margot was annoying me so much, over and over again she'd think Teddy absolutely couldn't want her because he was the sovereign and she was unwanted even by her parents......mind you this woman is described as highly intelligent with great power but she just couldn't fathom that he'd want a powerful witch from a prestigious coven as his consort ..... maybe if she'd talk to herself less and ask him a fucking question she'd know!!!!!! Margot dragged this book so much that by the end I hated her
2) We're told she's got this great big secret that if it got out lives could be lost *gasp* At one point I convinced myself she was half dragon that's how big they made this out to be.....turns out she's half Elf 😂listen that revelation was bs, the entire backstory of her being raised in isolation and danger just because she's a halfling. Now if her mother turned out to be evil and truly hating her I could understand but nope she's a cherished member of a prestigious elf family 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I'm laughing now but the only thing keeping me reading was this great "mystery" that was hyped so damn much. Ughhhhhhh
Dual virgins It took him 25 years to find her and he was loyal and steadfast for every one
Honestly my main issue with this is it felt long. This is romance with a smattering of politics, so I either wanted more of a true plot focus on the politics or to trim some of it out.
I did really like the world and the side characters, so I will keep reading as we change POVs between couples.
I had such high hopes for this story, because I had read the other three short stories and they varied from good to great, so I thought this book would follow the same format.
I took about 3 breaks, days apart, in reading this book and it was because it was boringly long at some points. By 65% I was ready to DNF, then struggled some more. REALLY wanted to say done and on to the next at 78% but I still wanted to find out who set the bomb (this was also teased as a great mystery but at the end, it wasn't a satisfying reveal), so I persevered.
So, the story starts off great. The bombing intro scene was good. But from there, we follow a formula of build up of scene, long inner monologue for Margot then again for Theodore, major plot point happens, re-cap, then back to square one. It was so annoying and I had to struggle through, this is especially towards the end of the book.
In high school, our chemistry teacher, Mr. Namemah had a term, verbiage. It was when you'd fill up a book with a lot of explanation/words but you actually haven't solved the problem/formula at hand.
That is what the whole back and forth in terms of scene description, inner monologues and hinting at crucial 'secrets' that Margot has (then they are explained away after the fact that the reader already knew what it was 2 chapters back) felt like. A whole lot of filler.
Then, I don't largely read historical romance, but this felt like a mash up of a historical romance/romance of manners (you know, she has to be dressed this way, sit that way, can only talk to these people), paranormal and finally sci-fi.
It takes upto chapter 6 for them to be on the same page/rather open on bondmates. And these were not short chapters. Like, the aspect of her just refusing, for the sake of refusing, yet she was openly attracted to Theodore, made no sense. Just pulling the plot.
What is up with her scent? I put this on my review notes, then by the time we get to where the big reveal happens, I was already over it.
Theodore did a lot of posturing. I am Sovereign. But it's like those mafia books where the guy says he's mafia but all his cronies do the dirty work/research into the bad guy, all he does is show up when the chicken is ready for slaughter.
For Margot specifically, I was not a fan of the fact that she basically had power over every one else, in the beginning we have a plausible reason as to why she isn't really using it, but towards the end, she is only triggered to manifest it when she gets angry. What happens to healer Margot after the sigil slides on and all the research we are told she was a pioneer in? She just vanishes into the ether.
There were a lot of we'll talk about it later scenes. A lot of things that could have been said in the moment, but they don't speak, my greatest pet peeve of couples who can't communicate, they just think it and finally discuss it 2 chapters down the line.
Chapter 12, we have the bonding then TSTL shenanigans. Teddy showed in words and actions from the start that he wanted Margot, but she so badly wanted to believe her own narrative. Then by the end of the chapter suddenly they are saying I Love You to each other? Make it make sense?!
It took until Chapter 17 for her 'big secret' to come out. Which, if you have been paying attention class, you probably sorted out a long time ago and in the grand scheme of things, wasn't such a big mystery as it was played up.
Finally, the smut was good until we get to the stereotypical deflowering scene. Oh it hurts so good for my first time. But don't hold yourself so stiffly, I can take it. Oh, and the terms he jerked/stuttered/snapped his hips when they were fucking. I was just visualizing a stiff board fucking.
So, book 1, good, book 2, not so good, to the point where, when book 1 was coming to an end I was eager for the other characters stories/happily ever afters. Now, I honestly can't be bothered and I don't have the patience for another filler filled story from the series.
I liked the characters and the general plotline, but holy moly this book is so slow. They spend so much time thinking and mentally rehashing everything that it bogs everything way down. I was literally falling asleep during parts of it.
When the action was happening, things were good. Then one of the characters would start thinking about their feelings for two pages and I would be bored out of my mind. It made the intimate scenes dull too. Literal pages of the same repeated feelings instead of moving the plot forward. I gave two stars instead of one only because of a MMC who is worth the extra star. I would not recommend this book.
LOVED TEDDY. Teddy is 5 stars. *chefs kiss* The writing is great! Just the story was not my cup of tea, didn’t enjoy the premise and i wanted to shake the h for most of the story found her to be unbearably annoying, repetitively annoying.

3.25 stars. There were some really lovely and tender moments here but it was outweighed by pages and pages of descriptions of their thoughts/info dumps. And when we found out the "secret", not going to lie that it was a disappointing. I am sure these stories will bring great joy to people, it just won't be me. And I am not exactly sure why.
Highlights: “No, no, no.” Margot elbowed her way out from behind Viktor. The shifter made to grab her, but one venomous look from those copper-colored eyes put him in his place. Not even an alpha wanted to piss off a gloriana. And then Margot Goode, the bloody center of his universe, stepped forward.
She has character and spunk: She wasn’t lying when she told Theodore she could multi-task. Margot was perfectly capable of freaking out and sealing cracked bone at the same time.
And can I say EEWWWWW (green tongue): In a measured, pleasant voice, he informed her, “That was your one.” “Excuse me? My one what?” “Lie.” Theodore blinked slowly, his dark green tongue snaking out to lick away a drop of blood from the corner of his mouth.
Some navigating the relationship: “Okay,” she finally answered, glancing away. “I need to take a shower first, but if you come back in fifteen minutes maybe we can have another cup of tea.” “Another shower?” His brain might have short-circuited over the image that presented, if he didn’t so vividly recall her damp hair from breakfast. “Didn’t you already take one?” Her endearingly shy expression shuttered. “Do you want to spend the evening with me or do you want to criticize my bathing habits, Sovereign?” Theodore threw up his hands in surrender. “Fine, fine. I’ll wait.” ------------ Margot flattened her palms against his chest as another stab of guilt stole her breath. "Does it bother you that I don’t love you?" "Yet. You don’t love me yet." "You’re very sure of yourself." But he had every right to be, didn’t he? Theodore was the sovereign, he was gorgeous, and so far, he’d been right about everything. If his ego was a little inflated, Margot could hardly blame him. That didn’t mean she would let him know that, though. His snort echoed against the marble. “With the way you’re looking at me? I give it a month, tops.” * HEA
This book was phenomenal, I loved every bite of it, the plot, the concept, the divergence between the races, the opposition, the fear of the unknown and how the MMC was so determined to make her understand that she had already found her mate.
Margot is a healing witch but due to how powerful she is, her magic is affecting her way too soon, without any other choice, she decided to follow her instinct and move to San Francisco to find the person who will save her - her fated mate. Little did she know that she first would have to survive a bomb explosion. Theodore is the new Sovereign of the Elves Protectorate, displeased by the fact that his consort almost died, he still jumps on the opportunity to bring her to his Tower, he plans to court her but now that the pull has started, he doesn’t have much time before he cannot resist to it anymore and mate with her. As they discover more about each other, their lifestyle, their culture, they both feel as they were made for each other and not even Margot’s secret will come between them. Theodore was such a strong MMC, he has this total devotion for her, he calms her, reassures her, supports her ! He’s definitely a man how we like it, and the obsessive, dominant side of the elves is really hot !!!
I cannot wait to read more about this series, next Viktor and I’m soooo curious about poor Sam, but also Alric.
Spent my day off reading this one. I really liked the first bit. I thought the world was cool and fresh. Kinda gave off a Kim Harrison vibe. Then it turned into chapter after chapter of his head between her legs. And I get it but where did the story telling go??? It came back at the end but then I was bored and was just skimming for important bits to get it over with. It wouldn’t end though! It was wrap up after wrap up and wait if you want more let me tell you where to get that too. I’m not a huge fan of the epilogue to begin with so this was just….. it was a lot. I really did like the beginning it just kinda nose dived after that for me.
I think some of that was the loss of his power. He seemed so mighty at the beginning and just came off weak at the end.
I liked the side characters for the most part, some of the family stuff was hard to keep track off.
This is the first book I've read by Abigail Kelly but it won't be the last. This was fantastic.
It was well written, the characters felt whole and real, and the story was captivating. The romance between the characters was so sweet, and I loved how completely Theodore adored Margot. He was the perfect blend of gentle and possessive.
The world building was fun too. There was such a unique mix of magic and technology. It's also very inclusive - same sex couples are well represented and women aren't held back by their gender.
