Alana doesn’t believe in fate. She doesn’t believe in second chances, either. But when a wolf pulls her out of the ice, not even Alana’s swan can keep her from taking notice.
Fay’s kind, beautiful, and everything Alana isn’t. From being a predator to moving away from her pack, Fay lives a life Alana would do anything to have.
So when Fay suggests they start a fake relationship to spice up the holidays, Alana jumps at the idea. A new relationship is just the excuse she needs to skip out on visiting her folks.
Falling for the she-wolf wasn’t part of the plan, but as the holidays come to an end, Alana finds herself fearing her flight home more than ever before.
Can Alana find the strength to break away from her flock, or are her family’s expectations of her stronger than her heart?
Winter Wolf is a paranormal lesbian romance with no cliffhangers and a happily ever after.
A wolf and swan shape-shifter and a little fake dating trope? I need more, please This is surprisingly a lovely novella. I feel warm and fuzzy! (And yes I was cuddling with my wolf plush while reading this book)
Very original. Clever story that I thoroughly enjoyed. I believe family is who we love not necessarily our blood relatives. I highly recommend this book and this author.
Sweet WLW shifter romance. Just what the doctor ordered for a winter afternoon: get a hot chocolate, kick back on the couch and relax into the winter fairy tale about a kind-hearted wolf and a panicky swan coming together while the snow falls. Well written romance with lots of nature. Low heat - so the snow stays ::))
Alana was flying home to her family holiday week when a storm forced her down on a lake. Exhausted she woke stuck in the ice to she a wolf shifter slowly crossing us ice to help her. A predator and her prey are united in their avoidance of their pack and flock. Sweet romance.
I really liked the premise of the book but the writing left me confused. The book follows Alana, a swan shifter who encounters Fae, a wolf shifter, when Alana gets stuck in ice. They decided to fake a relationship to solve some family pressure. Shifter books are hit or miss for me but I liked Hall's shifter mythology. I wish there was some more world building in form of the world of shifters. There was bits of information here and there but some more would have been ideal.
As mentioned before the writing left me confused. There were sections where it felt like every other sentence was removed. I found myself periodically go "wait what?" and having to reread sections. The characters would do something and next sentence would be like 2 steps ahead of where they were. I feel like the book could have used a little more fleshing out to make the story smooth.
All in all, it was a quick read with an interesting premise. If the writing doesn't bother you then this could be for you.
Unexpected reading, but very happy to have picked it
This was lovely. To me was the first time I've been met with this premise, not the shifter bit, but their struggles. I really wouldn't mind at all if this was expanded in the future. I really would love to see more of them and their dynamics, also would really like know more about Alana's family, also Fay's.
A swan and a wolf become life mates- and it's the cutest and most adorable fluff you'll ever read. From the rambunctious wolf to the bird brain of the swan, their dialogue and interactions with each other and their family is hilarious. I wished it had 40 more chapters because getting lost in them finding each other and a bit of themselves was exceedingly entertaining. Highly recommend if you need a quick read and a happy heart.
Cute and enjoyable short sapphic shifter romance about a swan and a wolf finding love with each other. All things considered it was a fun read, and I don't regret buying it, but the story kinda just was. It went along with no real depth to it, and even some of the character development was missing, with the readers learning about them at that point in time, but not a whole lot outside of it. I do appreciate that it wasn't a traditional pairing, and of course, that it had a HEA.
This is a rather cute short story but I feel there was enough information missing that it could have been longer. Like how did the wolf pack take the news that her mate was a swan and honestly after Alana’s mom has Fay’s phone number tracked and then Alana hung up on her how did she not end up tracking them done?
This was a really sweet romance, Alana and Fay are just too cute!!! I've read several Supernatural Shapeshifter books, I like them as a change of pace once in a while, they are fun to read.
I read to relax and escape the difficulties of everyday life. I love HEA and paranormal romance with a great story. C.A. Hall achieves this and just makes for a delightful afternoon read.
The meaning I thought of after reading this book is it does not matter how different you are, when you find your mate, all things go away except for the love. I enjoyed this book.
I’ve read a few shifter stories, but I never really thought about such different “species” finding each other. This story is a lot like life, you never know when or where you will find love.
4 stars. So stinkin’ cute! A swan shifter and a wolf shifter fall for each other and it was so cozy and precious. I love Alana and Fay so much and their chemistry was great. They’re both very likable and the romance was quiet and vulnerable and I adored it.
Fantastic storyline I loved the main characters chemistry was incredibly written their journey to be together was perfect a fantastic read congratulations
First time, I don't remember if I read any books in this series? It just needn't be so Vanilla. A pinch more eye opening,, exotic. Off to my next Adventure.
