Seaside Friends

The Wait continues the emotional and intimate Seaside Saga Series. By now, I feel like I have a personal relationship with the friends and family who inhabit this beach town in Connecticut. This book focuses on three couples, all at different stages of their relationships, none of them easy, but all of them love-filled. My favorite couple in this series is Shane and Celia, and I was happy to catch up with them as they try to find their footing together. Both Shane and Celia have had some heartache, and I love how the two of them have come together to help heal those old wounds, and maybe find a happy future. I also enjoyed catching up with Maris and Jason, as their separation lingers while they find a path home, and Elsa, who finds herself in a bit of a love triangle! I’m now anxiously awaiting the next book!

In The Wait, the beach friends' story continues where Shore Road left off. Author Joanne DeMaio transports the reader back to the tranquil seashore town of Stony Point, Connecticut, where the summer season is coming to a close. The story picks up during the Labor Day weekend, where our beach friends lives are like the tides, sometimes they keep moving and changing, but sometimes they are kept waiting.

In The Wait, Author Joanne DeMaio easily captivates her readers' attention with this beautifully written tale through a seamless and flowing storyline, and with a wonderful description of a tranquil beach setting that wraps itself around the reader like a sun-warmed beach towel. The characters draw you into their lives with a strong emotional pull, their complexities and flaws are true-to-life, it is easy to relate to them with compassion, empathy, and hope.

The Wait is an intricate story of interweaving friendships, life events, and deeply held secrets and drama. It is a wonderful story that continues to demonstrate the power of the magical sweet salt air that will cure what ails you. In this installment in The Seaside Saga Series, the author continues to weave a story that focuses on the ongoing marital strife between Jason and Maris; Elsa's stalled opening of The Ocean Star Inn and a possible love triangle with Cliff Raines and Mitch Fenwick; and the blossoming attraction between Celia Gray and Shane Bradford.

In this installment in the series the author keeps the reader engaged as the beach friends continue to deal with ongoing and new issues: you can't help but hope that Maris and Jason can find their way back to each other; while becoming intrigued by the possible love triangle between Elsa, Cliff, and Mitch; and feel the angst between Shane and Celia as they deal with the reality of a possible long-distance romance. At the end of the book, the author teases her readers with another cliffhanger ending: waiting on how each of these relationships turn out. We'll just have to wait and see what is revealed in The Goodbye, the sixteenth installment of the series ... sigh.

In this installment in the series, the reader follows along with the beach friends' lives that are full of friendship, love, secrets, regrets, challenges, heartbreak, grief, surprises, and second chances. As you read this installment, the beach friends continue along in their life journey in Stony Point.

So now that I have whet your interest in the beach friends latest comings and goings, drive under the railroad trestle and enter the enchanting beach town of Stony Point ... pull up a beach chair ... and visit with the close-knit longtime friends in author Joanne DeMaio's delightful novel, The Wait.

The Seaside Saga Series is a heartwarming series of stories of friendship, family, painful secrets, new beginnings and second chances. Author Joanne DeMaio weaves a wonderful tale written in the third person narrative, that is set in the present with flashbacks to the past. The reader is transported to the tranquil seashore town of Stony Point, Connecticut, where they follow along with Celia, Maris, Eva, Matt, Jason, Kyle, Lauren, Nick, Elsa, Cliff, and Shane as their lives change like the tide's ebb and flow on their little tranquil coastal town.

The Wait (The Seaside Saga Book 15) by Joanne DeMaio
Story starts out with Celia and she's with Shane and he has news for her.
Everything seems to be topsy turvy with things she thought she'd be doing...
His world just changed also and they have decisions to make...
Like catching up with Maris and she's writing again and spending time with Jason ...
Memories of Neil are here and of the past glimpses. Love hearing about the progress others are taking as they further relationships...
Glad to hear from everybody in the gang at the start of a new school year and hammer law is allowing residents to update and renovate their properties.
Lots of surprises in this one. Can't wait to read more of the area, so serene, quiet at times and salt air is always there to cure what ails ya.
Love new locations close to the ocean and it's so fresh and I can see, hear and smell what they are experiencing.
So many treasures and the new words I learned.

I just love this series so much! Joanne DeMaio writes a seaside saga with a great cast of characters that I have grown to love. The books take place in Connecticut in a small seaside town called Stony Point. The Wait is the 15th book in the series and each book picks up right where the last leaves off. This particular book was nice because it centered around my favorite characters. Shane and Celia come together for a time and travel to Shane’s home in the state of Maine for a brief stay. It was nice reading about the scenery that surrounds where he lives. And Elsa, oh Elsa, has she ever got herself in a bit of a bind! She’s in a sea of trouble, a love triangle and not sure how to handle it. She’s got some big decisions to make especially before Cliff surprises her on Saturday! And I’m anxiously waiting to read the next book, The Goodbye, which is set to release on 8/1/2022, to see what Elsa decides and to find out the cause for the long wait for Celia at Shane’s seaside dinner. If you enjoy reading stories with beautiful seaside settings and great characters that you come to know and love, then I recommend you read these books. But I do suggest you start at the beginning and don’t miss a one. You’ll be so glad you did and you can thank me later!

It seems that Stoney Point has come to a standstill with the relationships of some of our beach friends. Jason is still waiting for Maris to let him move back home. Elsa is waiting to be able to open her inn and she is conflicted regarding her feelings for Cliff and now Mitch. Shane and Celia are exploring their tentative relationship, but Celia wants to wait before letting anyone know they are together. The author has given us a tantalizing peek into the lives of these characters we have come to love. But it seems we too will have to wait even longer for our happy ending. I received an arc/audio copy of this book from the author and my review and comments are my opinion.

The Wait by Joanne DeMaio
Returning to Stony Point and the beach friends of Joanne DeMaio’s Seaside Saga again and it never disappoints. The Wait has several of the friends “waiting” on romance with a new girlfriend, a future fiancée and a current wife. Will Celia show up and reveal her relationship with Shane to two of her best friends? Will Elsa say yes to Cliff’s proposal? Will Maris and Jason take the final step and move back in together? You will have to “wait” and see. I love this series and I’m very excited by the release of The Goodbye that is coming August 1 and Joanne’s announcement of #17 in the series The Barlows!
If you love series here are thousands of pages just waiting to be enjoyed s start with Blue Jeans and Coffee Beans and join our group of beach friends:) you won’t be disappointed. 5 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ once again for the Seaside Saga!

Normally when I get one of her books I read it so fast that I have to wait longer for the next one. This time I decided I was going to read it slowly so that it would last longer. That did not work. Once I started reading it, it was just to hard to stop. So as usual I read it in almost one sitting.

I love to spend time with Cliff and Elsa and now we have Mitch in that group, Jason and Maris. They need to get back together. And all the other seaside friends. I love that Shane and Celia are spending time together. She needs so happiness now that Sal is no longer with us. I sure do miss him.

I can't wait for the next book to come out so that I can spend more time with my beach friends at Stony Point.

The Wait (paperback edition) by Joanne DeMaio continues the Seaside Saga as book 15. Every story has a cliffhanger leaving us dangling until the next book. This cliffhanger was a surprise I cannot allude to or it will be a spoiler. The gang is back and the focus is on Shane and Celia, Maris and Jason and Elsa, Cliff and Mitch. I am on team Cliff by the way! The setting is beautiful Stony Point Connecticut and I can practically smell the ocean, see the ocean stars and hear the waves as I read. Book 16 is on the way.
if you have not started these books, you have a treat ahead of you. Easy reading comfort books with lots of surprises. Enjoy.

The Wait is another satisfying episode in the wonderful Seaside Saga series. I love this series so much and love all the characters who I now feel are my friends. I always enjoy catching up with all of them. Let me tell you, we have been through some serious ups and downs together.

I look forward to each installment as I watch some relationships move forward, all while some appear to be stalled. That's real life though, right? And the ending of each book leaves me with enough thoughts and questions that I'm excited for the next book.

I highly recommend the Seaside Saga series and The Wait was definitely worth the wait.

Too many unfinished storylines

I love this series. I am frustrated that every book leaves several stories hanging. At least 3 books have ended without knowing what happens with the same characters. I get the suspense of waiting for the next book to learn an outcome, but do not like having to spend another $10 to see what happens with everyone. The only story line to reach a conclusion in the past several Books has been Kyle and Lauren. One unfinished relationship is enough to carry over to the next book please!

The Wait is a wonderfully captivating addition to the Seaside Saga Series. From the first page I was again transported to the beach community of Stony Point looking forward to my first glimpse of ocean stars and breath of salt air. After a summer filled with many unexpected twists and turns our beach friends are anticipating the same calm in their lives that comes to Stony Point at the end of a busy tourist season. However they soon realize there are still many challenges and surprises ahead…..leaving us eagerly awaiting The Goodbye our next book in this special series.

I have read most of this author's books, though I am pretty frustrated with her last several books in the Seaside Saga series since she seems to be dragging out her story just to write and sell more books. I mean the last several books have only been covering a day or two (how long can you drag out one summer). One book only covered a single night for goodness sakes. While I find the characters very interesting and the story overall compelling I am getting real irritated with how she is dragging out the story so that she can keep selling books.

The thing I like the most about this series is that with each book, it's like catching up with old friends. In The Wait, the story of Jason and Maris continues. I feel there is more hope for their relationship than in the last book. Elsa has gotten herself into a mess with her relationship with both Mitch and Cliff. Celia and Shane are continuing their journey together. As usual, Joanne leaving us hanging at the end of the book and I can't wait for the next one to come out.

It was worth it

No surprise, this was another beautiful glimpse into the lives of what I’ve come to consider my Stony Point family. Each book reveals more (but maybe not enough) detail of the back stories of the characters. Shane and Celia have become my favorites, and I’m counting the days until August 1 to find out what happens next. (I am a little nervous about “The Goodbye”, but there is some comfort knowing that there are at least two more books forthcoming).

The wait review

Wow amazed, shocked, in awe, etc over the newest Seaside Saga book, The Wait. Would love to see Jason and Maris get back together, see Elsa make her decision who she chooses to be with either Mitch or Cliff, and of course see where Celia and Shane take their relationship but as it goes we the readers will just have to wait. Highly recommend to fans of the East Coast especially Long Island and Connecticut, who love coastal romances, etc

The Saga Continues.....

Once again being at Stony Point is being home, with family. Logically the people are fictional, yet each & every time they come alive on the pages of Joanne Demaio's Seaside Saga Series. I'm always left wanting for more. Fortunately for us readers, we' ll be able to visit again in August 2022. Can't wait!
If you haven't read any of the 15 books, get going! Once you start you'll never stop, trust me.

This is the fifteenth book in the Seaside Saga and it's better with each book. We are focused more on Shane and Celia this go round, but we are still waiting on Jason and Maris to get back together. There is also Elsa and Cliff and maybe someone else. There is a lot happening on the beach, as the summer ends. Stop by for awhile.

All In The Air

What a beautiful story. Personal issues are evident. Secrets. Good friends meet and retreat. The ebb and flow. Hope hangs heavy for me! And, boom! The Wait ends!!! Will the camaraderie?

These books are getting super annoying. Could have turned the last 5 or so into one book. Each one covers a few days, issues from previous one don't really get resolved and you're left with another cliff hanger at the end. If I wasn't curious about the fate of characters I'd give up. May still.

I enjoyed this book, but it's like reading a soap opera. Just when a storyline gets interesting, it switches to another storyline, never getting very far with any of them. I can't quit these books now, though. I'm too far into the series for that.

This is the 15th novel in the series. It has been an interesting journey following the characters throughout the books. Decided to read the series in order while only borrowing them from the local libraries. A challenging feat if I must say so!this is a great series for relaxing reading.

Once again, the characters of Stony Point come to life with all their wishes, worries, dreams and fears of losing the ones they love...and my heart feels for them deeply. I often find myself wondering why they just don't make the things they want come true, change what they can and forget the waiting! Ah but when I look at both sides of the characters of Jason and Maris -the yearning is still there despite the stubborn stance. Then there Elsa who makes me smile.. she is delightfully having to make a choice between two suitors! Then... oh how I love Shane and Celia...I feel their pain, their love and the touch and go things that threaten their deep feelings...I hold my own breath then breathe again as their story continues. So I will wait for the next Seaside Saga because I love this series!
