THE LIMNER'S ART the first book in the Woodford Mystery series. Williamson Antiques has been broken into, and all of the still has either been damaged or stolen. Cliff Williamson is as puzzled as everyone else about why this has happened, but this is just the beginning because over the next few months the mystery deepens and a series of revelations cause even more heartache for Cliff as his life is changed irrevocably.
This is the first book I have read by Kathy Morgan, I had the privilege of meeting her at another authors speaking event and I decided to look her up, so to speak.
The story is told through dates and times and introduces you individually to the residents of Woodford. I enjoyed learning about the residents, their daily lives, ups and downs and sometimes even laugh out loud exploits. The story starts with a very unpleasant break-in and vandalising of an antiques shop and dips in and out from there as you get to know the residents leading you finally to who, why and how it was done.
I found the details of how the antique buying and selling business goes about very interesting and not at all what I had imagined.
I really enjoyed this book and can definitely see myself following the series to learn more about the residents of Woodford.
