I write books in many sub-genres of Science Fiction and Fantasy, including post-apocalyptic, military science fiction, epic fantasy, and horror. I love all kinds of movies and shows from Battle Star Galactica (reboot) to the Walking Dead. There's nothing I won't try.
I grew up in Kentucky in a small suburb just south of Cincinnati, Ohio, listening to hard rock and playing outdoors. In those quiet 1970's streets, I jumped bikes, played Nerf football, and came away with many scars.
My grandfather and many of my uncles and cousins served in the United States Military, and my father was a Kentucky State Trooper. Their efforts taught me the meaning of sacrifice and gratitude. I've always had an avid curiosity about the world around me, and I hope my enthusiasm for life carries over into my stories, even the dark ones.

And I’m Allergic to Mushrooms
This series has a different twist; not your average “EMP ends the world” story. I really enjoyed reading four books in a row and look forward to reading the last three books in the series in one big gulp. You’ll have to read them yourself to get the details of “spores eat the world” because even thinking about it creeps me out. Yeah, I’m still reading! A+

Absolutely fantastic to have the first four books in one place. Even though I’ve read the individual ones, I thoroughly enjoyed rereading. Intriguing and draws you in , making you wonder how they will survive.

1) SPORE:
SPORE opens the thrilling post-Apocalyptic survival storyline. Several threads are twisted tightly to build up a storyline of manic intensity, as the deadly SPORE virus of the title does its dreadful worst - bringing to mind very sharply, our current world situation with the Covid-19 pandemic, which has been equally deadly and seemingly uncontrollable.
A gritty, totally realistic drama, that will leave you gasping for Book 2.
2) CHOKE:
CHOKE continues the fascinatingly, shockingly-possible saga, about a deadly viral infection spread globally, from a completely unpredictable source.
Survivalists and ordinary citizens, wealthy, poor, privileged and underdogs, soldiers and civilians - none are safe from the silent killer - or are they?
3) FIGHT:
People en masse are betrayed by their leaders and their own ignorant behaviour, while in other scenarios, others step up to the mark and show great courage, selflessness and heroism when the chips are down. Mike Kraus and Kenny Soward are the Maestros of Post-Apocalyptic Survival, as they demonstrate the fears of ordinary, frightened people, desperate to believe in promises of support, funding and a potential vaccine, or even cure for the deadly virus, (that wreaks havoc on anyone it touches), which may not become a reality. Can the genuine love and support between survivors change the deadly outcome?
4) EXIST:
Desperate to reunite with his wife, Kim, Bishop Shields passes by horrific sights, of spore-infested corpses being gorged on by feral animals, etc., in scenes straight from the lowest levels of Hell.
Kim must also endure horrors, (including being kidnapped) as she returns to meet Bishop at Fort Collins.
It seems (as currently with the Covid-19 pandemic), that there's no end to the spread of the deadly Asphyxia spores' spread...who will survive?
A scarily possible future dystopian scenario, that mirrors the world's situation right now, Mike Kraus and Kenny Soward's incredibly moving, haunting and all-too-believable survivalist thriller, EXIST, should be a wake-up call to everyone.
A salutary lesson, but one that's definitely well worth reading/learning from...get your SPORE: The Complete Series Part 1 today - along with your hazmat gear and face masks...you have been warned!

Another twist in the end of the human race
A little protracted at times but does not spoil the ethos of the story. If can keep track of the different groups and characters you will find this story line engrossing at times and at others a little lengthy but all in all an enjoyable read with several heroes spread amongst the different groups of good guys and several villains amongst the groups of bad guys out for themselves only . Will be watching for the next book in the series

Rely on sheer stupidity...
A mother, a CDC field agent, sends husband and 10yo son on a mission, then leaves her shelter, & her daughter, to stretch her legs??? Then 'forgets' to put her earpiece back in... Sorry, but authors that stoop to sheer stupidity lose me.... And, further if an author will do it once I'm not interested in reading any further, or any more of their books, as they'll usually resort to heading down this rabbit hole again... Why, it was a pretty good read til this point???

Outstanding
This was an outstanding book. It was hard to stop reading. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes apocalyptic fantasy stories. I was shocked at the sudden ending. I look forward to reading more of this adventure.

Another great story. I always enjoy these. Time to start the next one. I have a lot of these series. Started with the stand alone novels.
