A collection of short stories. These stories are random, spun from the author's very wild imagination. They are not limited to one genre. On the contrary, each one delves into a different world: from science-fiction to fantasy to suspense and crime to contemporary fiction.
Alanoud AlAjmi is the author of the books: "A Date...& Other Short Stories" and "My Collection of Short Stories". She has a Masters's degree in English from the University of Dayton and a Bachelor's degree in Languages and Translation from King Saud University. Born and raised in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Loves reading and writing.
Probably a slightly biased review, but I loved these stories. A few years ago the author inspired me so much that I started reading after years of not doing so, and I finally got to read her work.
Many of these stories resonated with me. Either with their simplicity and the struggle of feeling like an outsider in your own community (ya Allah!), or with their incredibly touching themes (Rapunzel).
Some stories were so relatable to me they have lines that I have literally thought about or said out loud constantly like "How come they... have this and we don't?". Finally I was seen haha.
Other stories tickled my fantasy loving heart, and I wanted a full book on them. I think that's the sign of a good short story.
Loved this book, so happy to have gotten it from the book fair!
