These essays will lead to a better understanding and appreciation of the importance of temple building in the last days.
Truman Grant Madsen was an American professor of religion and philosophy at Brigham Young University (BYU) and director of the Brigham Young University Jerusalem Center for Near Eastern Studies. He was a prolific author, a recognized authority on Joseph Smith Jr., and a popular lecturer among Latter-day Saints. Let's be honest. This was pretty over my head. I can't really rate something that I couldn't understand. There were some great insights.... but I'll have to listen to this a few times for it to really sink in.
I listened to the audio CD which included the following essays: "Garden of Eden: Prototype Sanctuary" by Donald W. Parry; "The Temple and the Atonement" by Truman G. Madsen' "Hebrews" To Ascend the Holy Mount," and "The Brother of Jared at the Veil" by M. Catherine Thomas.
I learned a great deal of information about symbolism that I had not thought of or read about before. It is something I will be listening to over and over again.
I found a copy of Bro. Madsen's essay, but wish I had the others in print, also.
