A decent book for getting acquainted with the topic of poisonous plants, but unfortunately, if you’re not planning to get into gardening, there isn’t much practical information here. The history of each plant and its effects on living beings are described beautifully, but overall, that’s pretty much all the book has to offer. I’d also like to highlight the book’s gorgeous design — the illustrations, layout, and text formatting, as well as the overall structure, are very visually appealing.
Very pretty and has some excellent illustrations. For the contents, I found it interesting for the most part but difficult to read and it seemed to have difficulty following a single thread. There were also frequent assertions about the historical usage of the plants (usually involving naked women) that had no sources or justifications which I found a little off-putting considering how frequently quotes were inserted elsewhere.
