Kinnaman's book on the subject of angels is well-balanced. He resists the temptation to produce an overly spiritual work of fantasy by scrupulously employing Scriptural citations to bolster his conclusions. Granted that the subject matter does not easily allow for clear definitions and subsequent categorizations, the reader can be frustrated if s/he wishes rational answers or solid conclusions from Kinnaman. Human rationality and physical solidity are apparently not the hallmarks of the spirit world.

I read this book for research for a novel I'm writing. It was VERY good, sticking to the Bible for reliable information we know about angels, but also quoting from other books to show the reader what others think about angels, both heavenly and fallen. The author gave references for everything he quoted so you knew where he was getting his information. My friend used this book in his MA in Apologetics degree, so apparently others in the field also believe this is a good text.

This is a pretty solid take on angels and how we should understand and interact with them. The author is a bit self promoting by frequently referencing his own previous works, but he also leans heavily on scripture for our standards of how angels should be treated and viewed.
