Unholy Trinity #3

Fallon: "The Madman"

Rate this book
FALLON
How do you walk through life with half a heart?
With a bloody and busted organ that has been failing you from the start?
I knew heartbreak before love.
Immense sadness before joy.
Valentino Nicolasi helped me fly and soar above the clouds before ripping the wings off my back.
His love was a slithering and venomous snake that long ago took hold of my heart and soul, squeezing until there was nothing left but dust.
Our love is unconventional.
Toxic.
Venomous.
Tragic.
Us.
Our story started with an Edgar Allan Poe quote and the flash of a camera.
It ended with a lie.
The problem with toxic love?
It never dies.
It keeps spreading until it drives you mad.
He’s a dead man.
A Madman.
And he wants me to bleed.
Bleed for my sins against him.
And he’s coming for me.

Book #3 in the Unholy Trinity series.

Adriana Brinne, is a new author who fell in love with reading from a very young age but never felt brave enough to share her words with the world. Born and raised on the enchanting island of Puerto Rico, Adriana’s tropical upbringing imbued her with a deep appreciation for beauty and storytelling. By day, she navigates the world of computer science as a full-time tech, but when she’s off the clock, she indulges in her favorite contemporary romances written by her favorite authors and binge-watches The Big Bang Theory.

Adriana’s writing is characterized by her love for sweet and spicy romance, soft yet strong female protagonists, and grumpy heroes who secretly adore them. While she delights in exploring a variety of romantic tropes, she steers clear of themes involving cheating or death, preferring to craft stories that evoke all the feels without those heavy dark elements.

Wanted to try to read a new author with dual virgin. I was disappointed. This will be short and brief.
Dark High school mafia "romance". FMC Fallon, MMC Valentino
Not safe for me for 1 reason.
Lost their virginity together, but after he saw a pic of her kissing another guy (don't remember the explanation for that one) he leaves her or she leaves him. Too many misunderstandings, he is in the mafia, killed a bunch of people, he wanted to protect her so he lied to his family about the h like she was "just another pussy to fuck" even though he was a virgin too and didn't see her that way. She was her one and only (sort of). That hurt her so she ran. During their separation he tried to fuck random women but couldn't go through with it. He tried MANY times. And THAT is what ruined this shit show. Even if he just thought of it, I would hate it, but he TRIED MANY TIMES.
When they have sex again after she tells him about being locked up in the basement for a year after having her pregnant belly kicked in by her family and how she still loves him, she asks if there was anyone else, He says,
“There’s only ever been you.” I don’t know why I give her the satisfaction of knowing she was my first and my only, but I do. I tried many times before because all I wanted was to erase her fucking imprint on me. But every time I tried to fuck a random bitch, I saw her fucking face staring back at me, making me feel like I was somehow cheating on her."
The point is he tried, and I cannot forgive that. How far did he go? She doesn't know that he tried to fuck OWs, so if she did know, I wonder if she would have stayed. I hope not. Just the fact that he tried is cheating to me. A man in love like he says he was, doesn't do that.
This had too much unnecessary angst, I did not believe in his love for her, he ditched her and even with all the sex they had, he did not feel the scars of her heart surgery??? Please! Clearly he did not care enough to know about her. He told her his secrets, but that is his choice, she chose to keep a few things to herself, and after he ditched her and coldly snubbed her after they first kiss, he broke her heart intentionally, so why should she trust him?? After he told her why he did that, that he is in the mafia and he needed to protect her, she was on board with him. Then instead of talking, and clearing the air, he kidnaps her and has no plan what to do, just wants her to suffer not giving her food, force feeding her, she gets a panic attack and he takes her to the hospital.
She told him about the unborn baby after she saw the tattoo of it on his chest, so he thought she got rid of the baby. He always thinks the worst and NEVER thought that she lost their baby some other way. Instead of saving her from her abusive homelife he leaves her there? Never thought of going after her.
Sorry. No! If he loved her he would not have fought for her, if he loved her, he would NOT have tried to fuck other women (even though he didn't go through with it, he tried. He got horny for them otherwise why bother.) Imagine this, you lost the baby you made with the love of your life, you are locked in a basement and you want him to rescue you, instead he tries to stick his dick in other women to forget you because his head is shoved so far up his ass, all he can smell is his own bullshit and his own wallowing in his self pity party. Meanwhile you are heartbroken and lost everything. FUCK that guy!
This sucked, I am going back to my safe authors.
Will never read again.
Will never read this author again.

Fallon by Adrianna Brinne is amazing!! Honestly I’m shocked at how epic this book is. It has to be read in order so please don’t read this until you read Andrea, The Beginning, which is the first book in the series. It sets the tone of the entire Mafia organization and this world Adrianna Brinne created. You also meet Valentino & Fallon in book 1 and learn how Fallon and Andrea become best friends.

Okay this book was truly captivating from every single page. It’s told in dual POV from past and present. I normally don’t like that but in this case it was so important to the story and I loved the past between Val and Fallon. They were so freaking cute! The begging of their relationship was filed with love, longing, angst and untimely hatred and betrayal.

In Fallon, we learn everything! The entire time reading this you’re wondering what will happen next. It starts with a bang and leaves you wondering how that part of it could ever work out. Valentino at first is angry. He hates Fallon for betraying him. Fallon also hates him but can’t help loving him either.

Obviously Val’s obsession with her is true love hiding in his angry soul.

This story was perfectly told. I really didn’t think it would be this good. I was so happy with the ending and reading bout Lorenzo and Kadra who we see here too. I have a feeling Kadra isn’t as bad as she wants everyone to think she is.

I am obsessed with this mafia world Adriana Brinne has created. I am so entrenched in these characters lives. Can’t wait for every single book she writes!

This is just the beginning of something incredible. Just thinking about this book and the what's to come next gives me goosebumps.
This has to be one of my favourite worlds created. Each book in the series has captivated me each time I’ve read them. They take me to another world that I never want to leave. I am truly obsessed.
For me they are stories I don’t want to end. Each time I finish I wish there was more. The Unholy Trinity world is endless the characters and their stories, which are so different and unique. It’s so refreshing to read something I haven’t read before. This world is a mix of mafia and dark romance.
If you haven’t read Andra book 1, Lucan book 2, Unholy Nighy 2.5. Go and add them to you TBR you won’t regret it.

Fallon is
•enemies to lovers
• set in a mafia world
•dark romance
•will have triggers for some readers
•the stream is 🔥🔥
•plot twist

FALLON is an outsider inside a dark and brutal mafia world ran by her friends and family.
She is kidnapped by men and the man who comes to saves her isn’t there to set her free he takes her for himself.
The cleaning of Detroit city Valentino Nicolasi. The madman with a broken heart.
________________

Val and Fallon have a past. A deep loving past that becomes hateful and dark. He is her knight without even knowing while she was growing up.
They make plans together but it all falls apart. They keep their own secrets and slowly they unravel.

There story is set in the past and present. There past is dark and thing don't get easier. There present is tragic for for both of them but for Valentino it’s unbearable. He wants revenge for all the pain Fallon has caused.
For years his lives with anger towards her without knowing what she’s gone though. He is has a soul but it’s empty. Full of so much hatred for her and his twin brother and his father.
Valentino and Fallon both have very heavy stories. Adriana has brought them together and she has made dark fireworks. Val is not only this empty soulless man he's hurt, truly hurt. His part in this story hurt me more than Fallon's because he didn't know, the things he does are unforgivable really. And it hurt to see him do what he does.
If I say too much I will ruin it lol.

“I fell from grace for the girl she was before. I am a shadow. I am no one. Nothing belongs to me anymore but my rage. '

This book can be read as a standalone but I would recommend reading the first two books Andrea and Lucan, if you get a chance or even after Fallon. The first two books have different POV and you can meet Val and Fallon there. You can always meet Lorenzo. I thought Val was a psycho… Lorenzo is another story 😆

“If you fuck him up again. I promise you I will take a one-hour long bath in your blood.” - Lorenzo.

“My twin has always had a death wish and everyday he’s becoming more reckless.” Valentino.

Overall another brilliant read. if you haven't read anything by Adriana go and support her. This world is everything I love about mafia romance and she is currently mixing Mafia romance with Dark romance and she's doing an amazing job.

4.5/5 ⭐️
2.75/5 🌶

Tropes:
- dark mafia romance
- second chance romance
- high school sweethearts to enemies to lovers
- captor x captive
- morally grey hero (trust me, you will hate him)
- protective + possessive hero
- groveling (hero)
- equal obsession
- dual virgins (both H & h)
- told in past & present
- *Check TW*

POV: first person - dual + one ch. of hero’s brother

Type: interconnected stand-alone (book three) *book one & two are a duet following a different couple*

This is a “trust the process” type book. Especially with the hero. I hated him, even considered putting the book down for good bc I couldn’t see how everything would turn out. But TRUST ME when I say you WILL forgive and fall so damn hard for him. I hold grudges so if I was able to forgive him then it says something. My sensitive ass can only handle so much hate. But there was SO MUCH LOVE there too.

And sweet sweet Fallon owns my heart. It was so easy to love her. Her personality was so perfect and fun to read. Shy, quirky, nerdy, determined, comic book loving girl with a love for photography and snakes.

Also this is THE BEST EPILOGUE CONTENT EVER. HAPPY EVER AFTER INDEED.

Reasoning for the minus .5 (even though I loved it):

I was a bit confused at times. There was just so many things happening at once, it was hard to keep up. The back and forth between past and present was a lot in the first 50%. Even the mentioning of various characters without a proper introduction as to who they are and what’s their connection (I read this as a complete stand-alone, which is technically what it is). Also I have no clue as to what age the characters are in present time. I seriously don’t think it was ever mentioned so that confused me even more on the timeline.

These two were special. Their love was so sweet in the middle of all the darkness surrounding the both of them. They are very different from Lucan and Andrea. Their journey is darker, more heartbreaking but just as special. I loved their story and how they found their way back to each other. I just love that they shared a passion and their hobbies connected them deeper. Ahh I just-you’ll get what I mean. And those last chapters had my heart melting. I loved them and their little, beautiful family. 🖤⁣

There are many heartbreaking moments in this book, set in the past and the present. I teared up several times, specially on moments Val talked about his parents. I hope we see him and Cassius having a better relationship in the future. They both deserve to have that.

I got so very excited for Kadra and Lorenzo’s books. We got to see them because they are both close to Val and well, I liked what I saw a lot. Super excited for what’s coming!⁣

First of all, thank you for providing ARC for this book.
Honestly and very honestly This is one of the best books I have read in ages I swear.
I am in so freaking much love with this world you have created.

This book gave me the feelings I haven't felt recently while reading the book. I was really in too deep. It gave me all the feels.
Story is truly captivating.

This book has become one of those books that will always have a special place in my heart.

I loved it even more than I loved Andrea and Lucan.

So, This is book 3 in the holy trinity series by Andriana Brinne.
This book can be read as standalone but I will recommend you to read the duet as well to have a much better insight.

Characters: Fallon is a sweet innocent girl that comes from a non Italian family and the wrong side of the town with a poor background and abusive family.

Valentino is heir and son of the founding families of the Holy Trinity.
He is rich and quiet and mysterious with a dark and dangerous aura surrounding him.

In so many ways they are both the same and both have a painful past.
Story has been told in the past ,present and future and it adds more beauty to the book.

After things took a different turn for Fallon and Val, they parted ways and after 6 years Fallon was kidnapped by Val.
What happens now ? Where does their story take them ?
To find out please read it. I highly recommend this book. If you are a mafia romance lover then you should definitely read this series.
There is so much to the story.
So many things happen in this book that may break your heart. And Fallon my girl 😭.
It is:
Dark Romance
Mafia romance
Second chance at love.
Lovers to enemies to lovers.

Absolutely riveting and captivating, unique story.

Fallon "The Madman" is the third book in the Unholy Trinity Series. With the previous books I was quite curious about the twins, and now it’s the turn of one of them: Valentino with Fallon, Andrea's best friend. This book is told from Fallon and Valentino's point of view, recounting the past and the present time. It shows us the background of the characters, we know passages that marked their lives both individually and as a couple. Both are very complex characters, with a difficult childhood and various traumas. However, they have managed to deal with their problems in their own way. When they meet, they manage to lessen the difficulties and find refuge in the other. The contrasts are shown in how their relationship was at the beginning and how it has changed over the years, classifying their love as "toxic". But the reality is that even though, they went from being friends to lovers and later to enemies, the attraction and passion is still latent, even being stronger. I should mention the relevance of the family, in both, it has a great influence on the development of their relationship as a couple.

Adriana Brinne has managed to create a universe of endearing characters, with a life of their own that make you immediately empathize with them. Although it seems that the love between the characters is "broken", being harmful and toxic, as we get to know "the reality" of the events, and the feelings and emotions of each character, we realize that their love is true and capable to overcome any obstacle. Fallon is a character that presents a great evolution, rebuilding and fighting to be better. Valentino and Lorenzo, despite being identical twins, have a completely different personality, which creates friction in their relationship. A virtue of Valentino is that even in the darkest moments, he manages to see the light and seeks to redirect his path… in his own way. I'm very satisfied with the development of the story and I really can't wait to get to know more about Lorenzo.
Fallon “The Madman” is out now!

* ARC received for an honest review *

Fallon “The Madman” is the 3rd book in Unholy Trinity Series and it is the story of valentino and Fallon. We saw glimpses of them in previous books and how they had strange reactions to eachother which don’t match with their personalities.

Fallon was kidnapped in the previous book and yes , valentino was the one who took her from her kidnappers.

The book jumps between past and present giving us a taste of what they were like before and after the “betrayal.” What they have between them was something special, this book deals with very emotional issues and it was intense. Val was a so unique in the way I didn’t expect him to be. He does some things which could make you hate him as much as make you love him. He’s obsessed with fallon. Their love is obsessive.

Fallon is broken. Even in those little glimpses in Lucan and andrea we could see there’s a stubborn broken girl who is there for everyone but refuses to let anyone be there for her. She broke my heart many times in this book. I absolutely love her.

The pacing could have been better and there were some parts that could have been cut.
This book is an angsty second chance romance that has an unique take to it.

I cannot wait for the next book couple, caralorenzo are my most anticipated couple and 2022 cannot come sooner.

Thanks Adriana for giving me this arc.

IM NOT CRYING U R 😭❤️❤️

This story was so tragically beautiful and so poetically well written. Adriana Brinne has truly outdone herself with Fallon and Val’s story. From start to end I was at the edge of my seat not able to get enough of these two and everything they’ve been through and everything they’ve overcome. It was truly beautiful in every way.

This book isn’t for the faint of hearts but I promise u it’s worth it! 🖤

"143"

While reading the previous books, I was intrigued by Fallon and Valentino. They were mentioned but never in depth. When I read Unholy Night, I was even more intrigued, so hearing that the next book was Fallon- GOT ME READY.

This book is told in both the past and the present for most of the book- it will say Then and Now at the start of the chapters so you know what's going on. The "then" of this book broke my heart, things that the readers learn about both characters will make you say "ah-ha" but also make you want to cry. Mainly Fallon.... you will learn things that will make you wonder HOW she is the way she is.

With Valentino, we know a little about him, and his WACK family, but not really ABOUT HIM. Just that in previous books he hates Fallon. WELL slap me silly, this was all a huge misunderstanding. His backstory was what I expected, it was tragic and I wanted to punch his family in the throat, but... I expected it based on what I have previous read.

The "now" portion of this book, without spoiling it, makes you want to punch Val in the face for what he's doing, but then a 180 happens and well.. it's better. There was a repetitive nature of this book, I felt like some areas were being told again and again, it did make sense in the book, but it also caused me to skim read. I'll be honest, I wanted Val to grovel more .. but I digress.

The last portion of the book, it the "future" so it was entertaining to read. That might have been my favorite part of the story.

I don't want to get into anything that will spoil the book but know this:
There are triggers (abuse, child abuse, kidnapping, mafia related.. things)
You will need to read at least Andrea before reading this book.

Did I know Fallon and Valentino’s book would be angsty? Yes.
Did I know they would break my heart? Absolutely.
Did I expect this? Definitely not.

Fallon is the third book in this series, and we’ve gotten glimpses of her and Val in the other books. I didn’t expect the turn this book took. I had my thoughts about Valentino’s past, but Fallon’s took me by surprise. That girl is so strong that sometimes she rendered me speechless.
We see events of their past and present. Teenage Val was so sweet and pure, and you could see how much he had changed growing up.

I’ll admit though, the best parts of this book weren’t what I expected at all. I was ready for Fallon and Valentino, but I wasn’t ready for Val’s relationship with Lorenzo and Cassius. Valerie’s letter to Val was so heartbreaking. I expected a love story, but I also got a story about a broken family finally putting their pasts behind them to try to be better.

Why not 5 stars?
I wanted more action. I wanted more dialogues. And I wanted more of the other characters. I know that many people don’t like multiple POVs in books, but I loved reading what everyone was thinking in the past books and I wish we had them here.

No

English

This was one of my most anticipated books of the year and I wasn't disappointed at all, it's the third in the series and, although you can read the book and not feel so lost, I recommend reading the first two to have a better context and above all to meet the characters when they were young.

Main Characters

With that out of the way, let's start with Fallon, she wasn't at all what I expected, in previous books it was shown that she didn't lead a happy life but I didn't think that her story would be so sad, it devastated me to see how she suffered but I loved seeing her process of growth and acceptance, I just I love her. Instead, Valentino was interesting and more sensitive than I imagined possible, can't say that I love or hate him because he's just complex.
Most of the time, I can’t decide if I want to kiss her, kill her, or fall to my knees and beg her to keep me in her fragile but beautiful heart forever

Their relationship was very passionate and complicated, they began their romance when they were teenagers but for different reasons, they broke up and years later Valentino kidnapped her (yes he did that) and well that's where the story begins. They fell in love again under VERY special circumstances, I liked how their relationship unfolded and all the obstacles they had to overcome, together they are absolutely everything.
Let’s write another ending to this wicked and beautiful story.

Plot

As for the plot, there isn't one, Imean it focuses mainly on their relationship having jumps between the past and the present, which allows us to know what their relationship was like and why it changed so much. The point of view is dual but in some chapters, we can see the perspective of other very important characters, in my opinion, I feel that it was handled well so I didn't get upset at any time and the reading flowed clearly and directly.
How were the lies others manufactured stronger than the truth of our love?

Final Thoughts

To finish, I love the book, it has everything I love: suffering, romance, and incredible characters, so I recommend it.
How is it possible to love and hate someone so much at the same goddamn time?

Do I recommend it? No

I'm rereading the entire Universe to write my reviews. Lets start with the Characters,

Fallon I really liked Fallon a lot since the moment we met her and her story here is so relatable and heartbreaking. I literally dont have anything bad to say about her. She is a survivor and I understand all she does to survive in this world.

Valentino was also another character that I loved from the start. I wish we could have seen more of him after the initiation, and all that he had to endure alone instead of just listening how he is a monster and bla bla. I loved more his teenage version and connected a bit more with that version of him.

Now onto the Story I really loved this book the first time I read it, but this second time, I found some parts really tedious and it lacked the punch I felt from the first time.

I loved how the story jumps back and forth with flashback as its giving us answers while the story flows. But I have to say, the past aspect of the book was way better than the present, but by the middle of the book when the miscommunication happens, well, everything becomes a bit dull. There was a lot of potential with Fallon step father and mother that I feel it got lost in just few pages. And by the end we see an obsession from the stepbrother that we dont even fully come to understand if its for Valentino and he is in love with him or what is happening.

I think this has to do a bit with her writing style. She goes so hard for the poetic, line by line quote that it becomes a bit exasperating. I did like a lot Fallons internal dialogue, I think it was rich and pretty well explained and also easy to connect with her. But we cant have a full book of just poetic quotes and passages.

I have to say that I also feel that there was something lacking after the truth is revealed. I mean I loved how Valentino tried to fix his relationship with everyone, but for them it was like “ I forgive you” “ I dont deserved you” “Dont think that” “I love you and I forgive you” “I dont deserve you”… and so on in at least 3 chapters. And also its clear that they did not fully trusted nor knew each other in the past, so I think they should had explore their relationship a bit more while she was stilled kidnapped instead of just crying about the past.

All in all I like the Beauty and the Beast side of it. And I think if it had been proofread a bit more carefully, this could have been an amazing story.

Side Characters and Glimpse to other Books
〰️Nicolasi Family
I said it before and I say it now. Long Live Lorenzo Nicolasi. Period. Thats the statement. I cant wait to read his book and being inside his fucked up mind. I love the little we saw of him in this book but all shows how much he loves his brother and nephews.

Cassius, once again I repeat what I said before. What a selfish being. He had 3 kids that needed him, and he decided to change and be the father all of them deserved only for Andrea. I dont buy the bullshit that “Oh I was lost without your mom” because, why could Andrea had a nice loving relationship with her mother but he could not be the same for the twins?

〰️Parisi Family
I love that Kadra and Valentino are the BFF we deserved in this mafia worlds. I love how he just has to make a call and her and Lorenzo drop everything for him. I hope we can see more of them in future books.

This book had potential. It really did, but it wasn't very well done.

My issue with this was the writing, and I've seen a few reviews that had my same problem, but they didn't really delve much into it as they DNF. Unfortunately, when I start a book, I have to see it through and finish unless I physically can not bring myself to read it.

I thought the writing was just too poetic and just trying too hard. It seemed to me like the author had a certain word count goal in mind and just did endless descriptions of useless things and repetition of things we already learnt about to achieve the goal. It feels to me this way because when I tried to write a book on wattpad when I was 14, this is exactly what I would do to reach my goal of 2000 words per chapter. Looking back on it now, I see how boring and repetitive it is. It does not flow nicely, and this book could have easily been cut in half.

Some of the poetic and edgy stuff was not poetic and edgy at all but rather came across as corny. One of the things that kept being repeated was how both of the main characters have demons, and there was just so much description of these demons like them dancing together, being chained up, or just doing something. It just reminded me of those people on tiktok that wallow in their self-pity and make corny videos about depression. This is another issue that I could talk about for days, but since it's not really related to this book, I will not be explaining myself.

Fallon also came across as "not like other girls." She reads classic literature and comics and wears superhero underwear while all the other girls are just obsessed with their looks and only care about fucking the Nicolasi brothers. We need to stop making girls each others enemies even when they're not friends. Most girls in real life don't just hate each other because they're different from them.

All of these factors combined together made the book boring and a drag honestly. The plot idea is nice, but it was quite confusing. I think this might have been my fault, though, since it seems I should have read the previous books in this series as well. The beginning especially was very confusing, and I only started to understand things like 50% in. The things that I understood, I liked, and were quite interesting to read, but the writing just didn't do it justice. No matter how good the plot might have been, if the writing is not good, then it's going to bring everything down.

The title has "madman" in it, but there wasn't really anything mad about Alexander? To me, he just seemed like a broken guy who needs fixing and just a golden retriever. If you're going to tell me a guy is evil, MAKE HIM EVIL. I'm so sick of reading misunderstood male characters. I need an MMC that's just evil for the sake of it and not that under all the masks, he's just a broken guy that needs help.

The premise of the book is quite interesting, and has promise, and if the author ever decides to rewrite this, then I would certainly read it again but as it is now I cannot bring myself to give a rating higher than 3 stars.

I feel like this book broke me and then mended that broken heart.
I don’t know what I was expecting when I started reading. I just know that I really like the previous books in the series and was curious enough about Fallon, because she was Andrea’s best friend and was there for her throughout all of her hardships. And then obviously, there was that bit of contempt between her and Valentino Nicolasi and all of their interactions. I was so curious as to what their history was.
And oh my goodness. My heart. It broke for both Fallon and Valentino. Because they were both so young, yet fell so hard for each other. They felt like they could be themselves around each other, but they kept things from each other. Well, actually, Fallon is the one that kept a lot away from Valentino because she felt like she didn’t want pity from him. She wanted to be what he needed. And what broke me was the fact that he was as honest as he could be with her, opening up about who he was and what was expected of him. Yet, she couldn’t tell him the truth. And that was what ultimately began their downfall.
I love how this book was written. We get glimpses of their past (from both of them) and of their present. Which if I’m being honest, it was a brutal present. When I finally understand why there was so much hate in his heart, and why he wanted to punish her, my heart broke. I cried. Because even though he always seemed like someone that didn’t have feelings, he felt so hard and deep. And what happened truly hurt him.
But the thing is, Fallon didn’t understand why he hated her. But when her truth finally came out, I didn’t feel like my heart could handle what was done to her. To both of them actually. There was so much cruelty.
Their healing journey is what mended my heart. Because Fallon wasn’t willing to give up on them. And in some way, neither did Valentino. He knew what he wanted, and it was his future with the love of his life. He needed her forgiveness, and she willingly gave it to him, as long as he forgave himself as well.
I honestly feel like out of these books, this one became my favorite. Maybe because Valentino was broken and she healed him, but probably because he was so poetic and loving to her. They were perfect for each other.

2.5

The book is told between past and present, and after reading the two first books of the series we know that Fallon and Valentino had a bad past, that ended with both hating each other, so I really had no interest in reading so much about the past. The previous book left these two in an interesting present, but it took way too long to get back to that timeline.

And once we were in present time, they spent a lot of pages thinking about the past, so this book felt very long. And in the present Valentino was awful to Fallon, he tortured her physically, mentally and emotionally, and she forgave all way too easily.

This girl has gone through hell and back, and she deserved someone who worship her and grovel for her forgiveness, which Valentino did not do, she was the one pushing the relationship forward. Valentino was weak and whiney, and Fallon deserved so much better than that tragic, toxic relationship.

The only reason this has this rating its because I loved getting to know more about the side characters, and seeing how Lucan and Andrea are doing, also really liked the introduction to the second generation, which I know is being written right now. The writing style was good and I'm interested in the next couple, hopefully they are better than this one.

Side note: trauma bonding does not equal twin flames, and a angsty, hurtful "love story" does not make it epic.

“𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙤𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪, 𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙬𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙙 𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙨.”

Valentino and Fallon’s love story is such a good mix of that feeling of first, young love and cruel life of heartbreak. I loved them so much and just wanted them to be happy, protected from the world.

The book is split between past and present, and are a total contrast to each other. Especially Valentino. You see all the change in his character from a young man, in love for the first time, to this older version that is consumed by hate. Both characters are so broken, yet deep down can not stop seeking each other. Valentino’s love is so fierce. We finally get to see Fallon’s full backstory and reasons for leaving so suddenly. She’s is a fighter!

Some of my favorite moments in the book have to be interactions with other characters like Val’s brother Lorenzo, Kadra and Lucan (we meet everyone who is part of this world in book 1, “Andrea”). Val’s friendship with Kadra was definitely an emotional surprise. I can not wait for Lorenzo’s own book. He is such a conflicting character between his darkness and straight up goofiness.

The book can be read as standalone. It has darker elements and themes but I would not call it super dark book.

I felt so intrigued for their story since the previous books and things weren't as I expected (in a good way). At some points, it could be tiresome and confusing that the story was back and forth in the past, present and future moments but for me, it was refreshing too because make feel eager to know what would happen in the next chapter. Fallon and Valentino were both broken souls that were lured to the darkness and find each other. Their lives weren't easy, and they go through a lot; secrets, loss, and betrayals. I love how these two were written as well as their development; they were like outcast that felt the need to stay hided when deep down they were battling their demons. As a fellow reader, I adored their love of reading books and comics; at the same time, it was something they have in common and find comfort in it. Their love was imperfectly perfect; for the circumstances of them it was kind of toxic and destructive besides boundless and genuine. But they clearly knew that in order to move forward, they had to heal those wounds and traumas, forgive each other and themselves. Left that hatred behind and embrace the love they felt. So glad they got their happy ending despite everything. Excited for Cara&Lorenzo's story, also Arianna, Kadra and Mila.

Honestly I knew I was gonna love this one from the jump lol

We get bits of Fallon and Valentino in the previous books and we know there’s some issues between them but we don’t know how much until we get to this book and oh boy was it a rideee.

Fallon is a fierce girl despite all the crap and horrors she’s been through and Valentino is a tortured soul who finds peace with Fallon.

I liked the pacing of this book, you might feel like they give into each other really quickly even tho they have all this animosity towards each other but with the chapters set in the past seeing how they fell for each other and what they mean to each other it just makes sense.

This book felt much darker than the first 2, especially with all that we see Fallon going through in the past and I really enjoyed that. This book was definitely very angsty and I ate it up, I love that we see these two grow together and learn to forgive not just each other but themselves.

This book is definitely my favourite out of the series so far!

"How could we have fallen so hard when we really didn’t know each other?"

I was super curious over what was the story between fallonval and why they always pointed the finger to the other as to why it ended.

I got my answers and I wasn't expecting what I got. I was surprised with everything they experienced as teenagers in such little time. My kids!!!

The best part of the book wasn't their past story, but the way they got over all of those awful stuff that haunted them and started heal into a future. Because they were meant to be from the start, but to love each other they had to love themselves first and work on their minds and souls. The ending and the epilogue closed their story perfectly.

The next couple is another one of my absolute favorites and I cannot wait for them!!! I have a few theories already to keep me company.

“Love is messy and sometimes fucking lethal. You were young, and you were both broken, just in different ways. You wanted to find a home in each other. You both expected the other to fix whatever was broken inside of you, and that’s where you went wrong. You can’t expect someone else to fix you. You have to do that shit on your own, and then maybe you’ll be able to give them the very best of you. The person the other deserves.”

I’ve been waiting for their ending for so long!! Valentino and Fallon are just too precious. They went through so much and I’m so proud of the way they made their own ending despite the demons they have. I’m honestly so amazed by Adriana Brinne and how she portrayed these two characters. YOU OWN MY HEART ADRIANA!! Fallon and Valentino are one of my top read’s for this year and I know that they will always be my tops from now on. God I loved this book so much I literally have no words other than perfection. They were imperfectly perfect and just magnificent.

“I found peace in her chaos.”

I cant wait for Lorenzo and Cara’s book now. I always knew there was something there and I’m just so ready!! Adriana Brinne does not disappoint and I know she’ll make the next one even better

This ARC was received for an Honest Review

My rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ .5
Romance: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Steam: 🌶🌶🌶🌶

“I found her two times in this lifetime, and I’ll find her in the next. My heart. My girl. A rare beauty who stole my black soul. My witch.”

Tropes:
☠︎︎ enemies to lovers
♡︎ dark romance
☠︎︎ mafia world
♡︎ second Chance

Thank you to the amazing Adriana Brinne for an another amazing love story. Fallon and Valentino’s story was so different, unique, dark, and amazing. The two of them have been through so much. One thing I absolutely love about this book is how it was broken down. You get see their love story from the very beginning (past and the present.)

In the first two books of the Unholy Trinity series were able to meet both Fallon and Val. We only see a little of them and when I first read about them I knew their love story would be different. They’ve both gone through so much alone and together, and their love was just destined.

Adriana has created such an unique world. Each character and couple so far has had such beautiful stories. Everything I turn to the last page I get so upset because I never want the books to end, but on the bright side it just prepares for the next couple who’s story she’s getting ready to tell.

This book can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading the first two books in this series and the novella.

1. Andrea “The Beginning “
2. Lucan “The End”
2.5 The Holy Trinity Diaries

Bonus: Unholy Night “The Novella”

Second chance romance? This book right here is what you are looking for!

for starters, the characters:

valentino; the man has my heart. He is such a well-written character & I enjoyed reading about him, his thoughts, etc.

fallon; STAR OF THE MF SHOW!! I LOVE HER so so so so much and my heart hurts for her but her story was so intriguing I just couldn’t have enough. Her personality was also everything and the moments she had either Andrea- so charming & so cute { I LOVE THEM SM}

together; no words just think fire & ice

the chemistry was once again amazing & the plot itself was well panned out through the story!

i do have to say that adriana’s writing journey has 100% improved and i am so happy to be there along to see this journey! this book was so nice to read!

thank u adriana for the lovely arc :))
