The Grey Wolves #16

The Hunt Begins

Rate this book
How much heartbreak can one person take? Perizada, high fae, ambassador, mate, and friend to those in the Romanian pack, has lost her way. Everything about the fae is in question: her loyalty, her love, even her very existence. Still, her friends refuse to give up hope.

The Order’s compound has been brought to the ground, reduced to ash, but can Perizada’s attack even be considered a victory given the sacrifice made to achieve it? What of the innocents trapped within the compound’s walls? Were any of those lives spared?

Even with all they have faced, the challenges, the loss and pain, Fane, Jacque, their pack, and allies remain steadfast in their fight against evil. Past experiences give them hope that not all is as it seems. Perhaps there are hearts that still beat where others perished. And always with them is their Creator, the Great Luna, an ever present help in trouble. She offers light when there is only darkness, love when the heart is broken, and forgiveness when transgressions overwhelm them.

Their battle is far from over, but there is no victory without sacrifice. There is no light without darkness. There is no joy without sorrow. There are no miracles without faith.

Hello, Readers. My name is Quinn Loftis and I am lucky enough to call myself a novelist. In 2011, I self-published my first novel, Prince of Wolves with no expectations, other than my friends and family might purchase the book out of pity. Now, several years later, with 30+ novels and counting under my belt, Prince of Wolves had been downloaded over 1 million times. Though I was hesitant at the time to submit my work to the world for their scrutiny, I'm so glad I did. It made my dream of making a living by telling stories a reality.

I'm blessed to share my household my wonderful husband of more than twenty years (who also co-writes with me on occasion), three beautiful sons, a French Bulldog, and an oversized tabby cat. I love hearing from readers, so if you have any questions about the books or my journey, don't hesitate to hit the 'Contact Quinn' in the menu above. Thank you so much for taking a chance on my books.

This is one of my series that I hate to love. Like I spend half of the book wishing for mates to be separated and die off, whilst the other half, I spend threatening everyone if they hurt my babies.

And yes, this is indeed book 16.
And also yes, I already searched up the following book.

Before I start my review I want to thank Quinn for allowing me to an ARC reader for this book, it is a great honour.

On to the review:
This book is amazing, incredible, wonderful, heartbreaking and heartwarming all at the same time. Quinn really has a way with words that allows her readers to feel all the emotions happening to us as if we were a part of them book ourselves. With “The Wolves Descend” ending on a massive cliffhanger, this books answered the many questions that were swirling through my mind and took me on a rollercoaster of feelings. As always, Quinn has outdone herself and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

I was lucky enough to be selected for an ARC for this book. I am always in awe at Quinn’s writing abilities, and this book takes that even further! I am always amazed how Quinn can make every book even better than the last, and that’s saying something! This book brings emotions to life and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Watching characters grow and change and work though challenges is always a gift, and this book definitely delivers! This is absolutely a must read, ESPECIALLY if you’ve been following the series up to this point!

Hard Read

I love Quinn and have read every book she has published buy this was hard for me. Kara's story almost made me put down the book and not finish and halfway thru I was ready to rank it 1 star. I finished and there are some redeeming qualities but Kara's part almost turned me and the end really upset me more. I hope that I never have to read about what she suffered again.

Book sixteen of the magnificent grey wolves series by the talented storyteller Quinn Loftis. I love the combined characters from the grey wolves and gypsy healer series. I loved reading this book but I must warn you there are some dark elements in this book. I loved it the fact that Ludcarab finally got what he deserves. Now only Alston and Cain remain. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book. I know it won’t be for a while because Quinn is currently working on books 4,5,6 of her amazing nature hunters academy series so be on the lookout for book four tamed by air releasing at the end of August 2022. I definitely recommend reading this book and this series well let’s be completely honest here I recommend any book by Quinn Loftis she has a very unique and intriguing writing style and I love her hilarious dialogue in her characters.

Two weeks have passed since Peri’s attack on the order and since Kara was kidnapped by Ludcarab forcing her a drink that will help her conceive his child. Nick,Fane and the others see the devastation that peri left. And find a trace of Kara’s scent. Myanin is with her mate and queen Lilly in the warlock mountains worried about her friend Tenia and her son torion. Lilly learns about her daughters wound and visits her but thanks to the sprites that were kidnapped they can’t heal Jacque. Peri reveals herself briefly alive with the fae stones and a riddle that helps them heal Jacque. Disir the high fae and lucien follow her magic trail to the realm of the draheim which has been closed. They stake it out lucien stays while disir looks for answers. Unware that peri is watching lucien regretting the cruel things she said to him and the others. Peri, torion, Tenia who is unconscious and Skender are in a cave and memories show how they got their peri after her attack on the order was horrified at her actions and grabbed torion praying to protect him from her powers a draheim the young one that Ludcarab captured carried her, torion, Tenia body and Skender to the draheim realm. The young male draheim is galan son of serapha who tells her this isn’t the first time a draheim has saved peri life. Skender tells torion and peri his life story from his parents being members of the order, to rogues being killed, to being dropped off at Vasile and Alina door and that magic welder altered his memories. Unaware that Tenia still unconscious can hear him. Wadim learns with the help of disir that draheim can survive the cold fire, that when peri and Nissa were children they were protected by a draheim. Kara meets fellow prisoners Dyna, Coya, Reena all having the matching bracelets binding their powers, Ludcarab rapes Kara. After a month passes Kara and Nick sense their bond but she doesn’t know who he is. The supernatural pack of wolves, fae, elves, healers, djinn meet up outside the draheim realm trying to open the veil. Tenia finally awakens and she and Skender accept each other and complete the blood rites. Just when peri accepts needing to reunite with the others Lilly speaks up saying she can’t open the veil yet she will known when another month passes by and torion Reveals his latest prophecy drawing of Kara and Ludcarab Kara being raped and her killing him, peri realises it’s time they reunite with the others barely avoiding Jen killing Skender for his actions and reveals she will be torions future mother in law, Nick abd the others are shown the drawing Thalion recognises where she’s being kept. Kara follows the plan the fae ember made she removed Kara’s cuffs that allowed her memories and bond to return and gives her the blade that she uses to kill Ludcarab. She’s reunited with Nick and the others who sense she used volcans power to kill Ludcarab. The great Luna visits Nick and Kara telling them they need to complete the bloodrites and reveals they’re pregnant with a girl, Nick will be the father. This could be the other part of the riddle peri spoke of when a child born of the enemy they will think it’s their victory but hope will be born of this supposed triumph. While relaxing Fane is surprised by a visit by Boian who warned him if the challengers before disappearing he’s been with the rogues where he met his mate Lorna he reveals information on Alston location so they make plans to go after him and Cain to finally end the threat of the order.

How do you make someone whole when the worst happens?

If you have never read any of The Grey Wolves or Gypsy Healers, you might still enjoy The Hunt Begins, but you will miss the depth of the growth and transformation of many lives. This is Book #15. A lot has happened since Jacqueline first heard Fane's voice in her head and learned she was part Canis Lupus mate of the Prince of Wolves.

The Grey Wolves and Gypsy Healers continue to heal from their losses while fighting evil. Hunger for more power and dominance fuels the Order of the Burning Claw. Protecting their loved ones and the innocent fuels the Grey Wolves and Gypsy Healers. Relying on the wisdom, grace, and mercy of The Great Luna is a necessity to survive all that happens.

Jen seems to have matured...a bit. She still manages to put a smile on your face, and if you are like me, you are grateful for her antics. We see more of Fane and Jacque's leadership. We see the power of the Pack. Their commitment and loyalty to all they consider Pack is on full display. Myanin, Zara, Heather, and Torion provide much needed relief from harsh realities and anguish when evil gets an upper hand.

The Hunt Begins is loaded with Quinn Loftis' infamous twists, turns, and heartache. Blood thirsty scenes can't be avoided. A note of hope is present like a deep breath of oxygen. The arc of redemption is long. The joy of redemption is undeniable. Kara and Nick face the lowest of the lows and the highest of highs. The pain is palpable, so is the love. As a reader I was tense, angry, sad, and in disbelief. I also cheered, screamed, laughed, and questioned it all.

The thing I feared most at the conclusion of The Wolves Descend happened in The Hunt Begins. But I did not count on the compassion of The Great Luna. How do you make someone whole when the worst happens? I think Quinn Loftis must lose many hours of sleep developing her storylines just to answer that one question. FOR THE PACK!!!

Spoilers ahead, I tried and couldn't help but write it out this way. I had the absolute honor of getting to read the ARC of this beautiful book. I Honestly loved the little side talks between the characters especially the back and forth banter with all of the girls together again it was hilarious. I sat on the edge of my seat waiting to see what each chapter would hold I was so excited to see some returning characters I'd thought were lost find themselves. The strength and perseverance in all of these different species coming together to defend those they love was so touching! I loved seeing little Torion finding his strength in his gifts. Though he could see that his pictures brought a painful message, they also brought everyone back together for Kara and Nick. I loved that though Kara had to face atrocities she literally got to slay the monster that caused her such soul crushing pain. She got to completely eviscerate a foul being and free those under his rein. I loved that though Nick was feral the pack still came closer together to both kick his butt and sheild their bredrin keeping him safe until he could be with the other half of his soul again! I laughed, I cried and I am so freaking ready for next part in this thrilling series. This book was another wonderful read. You've done it again, For the pack indeed!

Having been a fan of Quinn’s books for as long as I can remember, the wait for a new book is ALWAYS difficult. This most recent book I was given the chance to be an ARC reader and could not have been more excited. My husband finally got tired of hearing me complain about being interrupted during such important work that he left me alone. Now to the book….

From the very beginning this book pulls you right back in to the series. Quinn is one of the few authors I have read where I never have problems remembering where things left off. As with most of her books there are SOOO many chances to fall in love with these characters but rarely do we get a chance to hate and love them all at one time! You see one fall from glory and another finally grow up.

This book actually made me love Myian just a little bit more than I already did, especially when I didn’t think I’d like her in the first place.

But like very few of Quinn’s booksin this series, this one can and most likely will leave you with some scars on your heart and at moments wondering how anything good can come out of something so heartbreaking!!

Although the wait for this book was hard, it was most definitely worth it. I can honestly say I do not know that there will ever be a Quinn Loftis book that I read and rate that will get anything less than 5 stars.

I don’t quite know what it is but there is something different about The Hunt Begins. For me, it was both lighter and darker than previous books and while it did feel less action packed than the last few novels, it really delves deep in to feelings of pain, heartbreak and redemption. The individual storylines are emotional and painful to read but put together and you have a heartfelt story about love, loss and finding forgiveness. It gave me a chance to connect with characters I haven’t before and really gives insight into why some of these characters (Ahem… A certain wolf) are the way they are. The strength of these characters and all their perseverance is a joy to read. And let’s not forget in traditional Jen style, lighthearted one lines that make you laugh hysterically to yourself.

Can I just say I think Torion has won first place as my favorite character. That kid is just too damn smart!

Being a ARC reader for this series is an absolute pleasure every time. I read this book no stop and was done within a day I could not put it down. I cannot wait to see where Quinn takes the story next and I shall wait with baited breath.

Another great addition. To the GWS . This is a must read.
I cried & laughed. Got mad & sad. I even found myself yelling at Jen as she attempted revenge on Skender. I cried for Kara and Nick as she did what she had to do, and his wolf went feral. Felt the pain the Alpha's and pack members went through as they contained Nick's wolf.
The growth & strengths that characters have gone through is tremendous. Fane and Jacque are becoming the Alpha of Alphas we knew they could be. The strength and understanding and compassion "For the Pack" comes through every chapter.
"The Hunt Begins" continues to carry your emotions on a rollercoaster ride.
Quinn Loftis as always delivered a page turner.
If you have not read the GWS I strongly suggest you start today, as the Storyline line is only getting better if that is even possible.
Can't wait for #17 .

The Hunt Begins was just amazing. Quinn has done it again! These books always make me feel every emotion there is and I laugh and cry constantly along the way. I really enjoyed the story and character development in this book, although tough to read at times and my heart broke for a certain character it was very cleverly written and the ending was worth all the heartache and teaches a good lesson about looking for rainbows after a storm. The characters feel like old friends and I can't wait to see how there stories continue in to the next book.
The whole series is definetley worth a read, you would not be disappointed! Thank you again Quinn.

I was so blessed to be an ARC reader for The Hunt Begins! And let me just say, Quinn has done it again. She has written yet another captivating story which masterfully draws me in, has me empathizing with the characters, and going along with them on their journeys. I learn as they learn, hurt as they hurt, rejoice as they rejoice, and laugh as they laugh. It’s an alluring and fascinating ride filled with big emotions, beautiful lessons, and quite a few laughs sprinkled throughout. It’s amazing how well each is weaved in along the way. If you haven’t started the Grey Wolves series, do yourself a favor and get started on it. And for those of you already caught up, you are in for SUCH a treat!!! This is another masterpiece in a thrilling series. Everyone enjoy!

Book 16. It continues you on the roller coaster of emotion that is in all of Quinn's books. It feels like you are right there living day to day with your favorite characters. The 3 musketeers are a laugh riot but add the wheelers to the mix and theres fun all around. Our ever so loving males still bring their over bearing butthead responses to most occasions but we got to love our hot as hell werewolves. Then throw in a mix of children who are smart and full of insight. You have a read that you most certainly can't put down and leaves you wanting more and more. It was an honor being an ARC reader.

So I want to begin with that I'm grateful for being allowed to be an ARC for this book. Like always the book was amazing! Quinn's writing always draws you in and keeps you captive. You laugh, cry, want to throw whatever device you are reading on. I cussed this book and was completely at a loss for words during parts. This book will trigger some and help others heal. You will see love bloom and love renewed. Characters become humbled by the consequences of their choices. And new allies emerge through all the pain and deviation that was caused. Love is the most important thing.

I was honored to be chosen to be an ARC reader for this book. Once again Quinn has blown me away.
The Hunt Begins reminds you of why you fell in love with all of the characters in this series and makes you want to be right there kicking some but with them too.
Not only does she draw you into to their lives she also helps us see how a Goddess can love her people so much and why things need to happen the way they do. Her faith is amazing and it shines through her writing.
She makes you laugh, cry and want to yell right along with the characters. She will pull you in and leave you begging for more. Read the series from the beginning trust me it’s worth it.
Thank you Quinn again for another amazing book. Cannot wait to see what you have in store for our girls and their guys next 💕

It was an honor to be selected as an ARC reader again. The Hunt begins was well worth the wait; the anticipation for what was to come in each chapter kept me glued to each page. The raw emotion that can be drawn from each page to it's reader is gripping, it's addicting to your soul and screaming out for more. You find yourself longing to hold each and every character if only to offer solace or a sanctuary in a place of peace and healing. If you have not read the series from it's inception I would suggest to start there with the Prince of wolves; the entire series is amazing, you will not regret. Quinn Loftis another amazing read. You have quickly moved up to one of my fav authors. Thank you for what you bring to your readers!

As always my emotions are so up and down after reading a book in this series. Quinn has done it again. She writes the hard stuff but man does she know how to make it to where you understand the need for that those hardships. Just like in life we all face hardships and God uses those hardships to make us stronger. I loved this book and absolutely can not wait to read the next one. I was so blessed to be apart of the ARC team for the first time. Thank you Quinn Loftis for these wonderful journeys that you take us on.

Have you ever found a series that you engulf yourself into over and over? Characters you can see so clearly, lives you crave, friendships you admire. That is exactly what I've gotten out of these books.
The Hunt Begins is an amazing edition. It answered cliffhangers left from Wolves Descend. It brought back laughter, hope, unrelenting love and devotion. It adds forgiveness, and understanding, and faith. You feel every emotion on the spectrum reading it, sometimes all in one page. I loved how the story is focused mainly on 2 characters, but Quinn is still able to touch on everyone even if it's just a little. She keeps the connections alive. FOR THE PACK!!!

Thank you so much for allowing me to be ARC reader Quinn. Thank you for giving me the amazing gift of these books.

How do you piece together a broken heart? Especially when you make a choice stemming from that soul deep ache that was so devastating it takes innocents down with the big baddies...

One thought, one choice, one day at a time and of course with a little help from your friends.

The Hunt Begins is book 16 - and I'm the last person I would ever think that would be this far in a series. I typically fall off after 3 books but I keep coming back to The Grey Wolves because I adore these characters, look forward to meeting new ones and enjoy seeing their journey as it continues. There are so many individual storylines and each in a different stage of life - I get emotional seeing them struggle and found The Hunt Begins offers us a story of love and loss, but also finding forgiveness, from others and yourself.

I will always read this series and hope @quinnloftisbooks will continue to add to it - or give us a spin off in the same world. I have been a fan of Quinn, as a writer but also as an individual, since her very first book was released. I stay stalking her.

Let me start by saying this: I've been reading Quinns books since I was 22. I am now 33. I have never once, in all these years been bored of Quinns work. Specifically the Grey Wolves series. The fact that she's still keeping it going and the stories are still as great today as they were then, is just a small example of how amazing Quinn is.

The Hunt Begins was the stepping stone to redemption for a lot of people. Peri has a lot to answer for, as does Skender.

Torion just might be one of my new favorite characters. He is so pure and smart. He reminds me of Sally in a lot of ways. Just his big, forgiving heart. It's going to be a lot of fun to see how Jen and Dec handle him.

Nick and Karas battle was HEARTBREAKING. I cried for them both. Without giving too much away, what they both go through, endure to get back to each other is a defining moment for them.

As always, Jaque, Jen, and Sally are the glue to every story. The bond, the comedic relief and the absolute love they have for each other and the pack is uplifting. The patience and adoration that Fane, Dec and Costin have in spades for their mates... lol those girls are beyond blessed.

Reading the series always makes me feel like I'm visiting old friends. It's feels natural, like no time has passed at all and I love the comfort I feel when I dive in. The Hunt Begins was as amazing to me as Prince of Wolves. Thank you Quinn for yet another amazing read.

“The Hunt Begins” is the sixteenth book in “The Grey Wolf Series” by Quinn Loftis. This book was riveting, powerful, raw and emotional. Quinn’s words captivate you from the very beginning of the book. This complete series has me in awe of this talented, powerful and gifted author. Quinn’s words and writing style have you living the moments right along with the characters. I am thoroughly invested in this series, I been here since the beginning and I’m not going anywhere. This storyline had me on the edge of my seat, crying, laughing, breaking and healing.
The book shows Fane becoming more like his father, being a caring and loving Alpha supporting not only his pack but all of the other packs and uniting many different supernaturals … Shifters, Fae, Elven, Gypsy Healers, Sprites, Warlocks and Djinn to work towards a common goal ….defeating evil and to rescue one of their own who has been captured. It shows Jacque growing and becoming an Alpha who has strength, wisdom and compassion much like Alina. It shows how strong true mates are defying all odds, and surviving and overcoming anything and everything that fate throws in their way.
I fell in love with the series all over again…. Quinn sends powerful messages through her writing …. we learn vengeance is not always sweet but necessary, we learn something wonderful can come out of evil, we learn the true meaning of leadership, loyalty, love, pain, sadness, joy and relief. My heart breaks and mends throughout the book. It shows how these characters have matured and grown so much over the progression of the series, it shows that the Great Luna is like a mother whose love never falters for her children even when horrible things may occur to them, it teaches us that bad things happen for a reason even though we may not see it at the time and that redemption is possible.
This is an amazing series written by the extremely talented author, Quinn Loftis. If this is the genre you enjoy, pick up the book or download it and buckle in for the roller coaster ride with The Pack!!!

********** Contains Spoilers**********

I enjoyed this book but man it was dark, and pretty heartbreaking. Why did Kara have to go through something so horrible? At least she could escape into her safe space, when her soul would call out to her true mate Nick. Since their bond had been blocked through magic she had no idea who he was just knew that he was someone special to her. I know that a huge miracle came out of it, something that she never believed could happen considering the sacrifice she made when she became a wheeler, so she wouldn’t turn evil. I really enjoyed the thoughts/comments at the start of each chapter from a different character’s perspective, as it brings them to life and makes it seem like they’re actual real life people that would be awesome to have as friends/family. I notice that Jacque, Jen and Sally seem to have matured a bit. There’s still humour but it’s not as constant like in the previous books. After what Peri did during the Wolves Descend to destroy the Order’s Compound, and those inside.

She can’t face those she loves and cares about, especially Lucian as she cut ties with all of them in order to save them as she couldn’t deal with losing someone else she loves, just like Vasile and Alina. When her friends and family find out that Perry’s alive and behind the locked veil to the draheim realm. Lucian, and those that love and care about Peri will do anything to unlock the veil. Wow, Skender surprised me. I loved that even though it came to light that his memories were taken from him and that he possible didn’t completely act on his own accord with his actions. He never used that as an excuse to be absolved of his guilt for what betrayal his actions lead to. I’m looking forward to seeing more of him, his mate Tenia and their son Torion in the next book, as well as finding out whether the Pack can completely destroy the Order once and for all. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.

I recieved an arc of this book, and I want to thank Quinn for giving me this opportunity once again. I'm such a huge fan of this series in particular, and I can never get enough, even though some books, and the characerts journey's are difficult. But the fact that I get so invested both physically and emotionally just shows what an amazing author Quinn is, and everyone needs to read this series asap.

On to the review:

This book did not disappoint in the slightest. I was at the edge of my seat for the entire book, mostly because of Kara and how unfair it is that she had to go through such an experience, and for two months... While everyone was searching for her, and Nick becoming more feral by the minute...

I just feel so bad for Kara... But I'm kinda glad that a child came out of it. Even though it wasn't concieved in the traditional way between Kara and Nick. But that will bring some happiness into their lives and hopefully help Kara overcome her trauma.

But I seriously need a short story between Kara and Nick because they are adorable together, and now that she's pregnant, I can't wait to see how that will affect Nick.

I'm so happy that Peri and Tenia aren't dead, because that would've sucked... But I still feel like Peri was an idiot for hiding, because she had Lucian to help her cope. But at least she's "back to normal", or as close to normal as she can get.

I'm still not sure how I feel about Skender after everything with Sally. And now with the news that he was under a spell when it happened... I don't know.. I guess I'll need to sit with it for a while..

But I can't wait for all the children to meet each other. Especially for Torion and Thia now that they're true mates, I guess. And to see how Jen is going to cope with that 😂

If I could rate this less I would. I started this series at a young age, fascinated by the level of world building, writing, and of course true mates. It ends now. I am disgusted with what I have read and felt sullied throughout this whole experience. I might give this book away to keep the good from previous books alive, but I will not continue any more of this garbage. It was the small things at first, but this is too big to ignore. The ending, I sat in shock after reading it. Imagine being told your rapist's baby is a blessing because your God/Goddess said so. Imagine being told to endure and "hold on a bit longer" by others because your God/Goddess has a plan. It made me physically sick. I understood that Kara wanted children, but it makes no sense for her to all of a sudden forget what that monster did to her. I don't think she is the kind of person, especially from what she has done, to accept that she has to carry his child. I have no problem with religion, I grew up in the environment (though I have left it behind me, I understand its place in the world), but this goes beyond that and I will not stand for it. Having a Goddess be present to her people and acknowledge them was something I loved, but she does absolutely nothing to help them. Oh sure, after they've gone through hell and back her so called plan is revealed, and then of course they'll have scars they have to heal from. It's getting repetitive at this point. I've read about assault before in other books, and multiple times in this series. I've never had an issue with it because I understood it, until now. It was all unnecessary. And then all the justifications for it... I feel... Words can't describe it. I know Quinn Loftis won't see this, but if she did, I hope this review will make her reflect.

Amazing!

Quinn Loftis, woman, you are fucking genius when it comes to writing! I have followed your Grey Wolves series since the beginning, and have loved every page, chapter, and heartfelt endings. I wish you didn’t kill Vaslie and Alina in the previous book, because when I tell you, I sure did cry. I didn’t think a book could make me cry but I grew attached to very single character but none more so the than The Great Alpha duo. You have out done yourself with “The Hunt Begins”, I loved every twist and turn, every Jen innuendos, Peri’s snarky comments. And the fact that YOU STILL HAVE LEFT US HANGING ON SKENDER’S AND FANE ALL OUT BATTLE! Like girl come on I’ve been wait so patiently for a Skender and Alpha Fane smack down. I want to see (read) Fane punish Skender for his transgressions, see if Fane forgives him or not. Or if he punishes Skender enough to still despise him in the end. And you know Jen wants to be on sidelines giving Heather a play-by-play of all the action. But I will forever be patient and wait even LONGER to see what happens in the next book, to Sally and Decebel unborn little angel (and the baby werewolf better be a girl, we need more girls to “The Vagina Society”), Jen’s need to be stab everything, Jacque hot cocoa socials. Ooooooo! (Squealing here!) 🤩 I can’t wait for your next book and you can bet $50 that I will be the first reader to preorder and finish the book all on your released date. Like I did this one! ❤️😊🥰 Love your work! Your doing great, keep it up!

I’ve loved this book series ever since I picked up my free copy of Prince of Wolves on Kindle over ten years ago. I tend to think of it in two phases - Books 1-8 as Phase 1 and Books 9-16 (as of right now) as Phase 2. I’ve been lucky enough to be an ARC reader for several books now.

The second phase of the series has been an emotional rollercoaster, and there have been many times where I’ve seriously considered taking a break. Much like our current reality, the GWS universe has taken a dark turn. The books are addressing serious issues with light bits of humour here and there to ease the tension.

Our central characters have matured.

As someone who was growing rather tired of Jen’s humour, it’s nice to see some maturity. Fane has grown into a true leader, although Jacque remains somewhat on the side lines. Sally and Costin have been somewhat absent, as has Decebel. However, we finally have a deeper merging of the two related series, bringing the universe’s timeline together.

The book touches on a lot of darkness, you need to be prepared for it….I just hope there will be some light at the end of the tunnel soon!
