I just wish there was more of it. I need more hand holding to believe that I too can be creative and artistic.

Not really what I was looking for. A collection of projects, but none of them really interested me sadly.

A great concept, interesting topic and nicely presented. The book is pretty and so are many of the crafts inside of it.
The pages which detail the magic correspondences for materials/colours etc are very useful for reference.

It is easy to read and has lots of pictures. The process required to make each craft is given step by step and with occasional helpful illustrations.

However, in regards to the actual content of the book I personally found it slightly underwhelming. Epecially for a book on a topic I see covered so rarely in regular magick books.
In my opinion, the crafts all have a similar eclectic 'arts and crafts' vibe which is great but a selection of different styles/focuses would have been nice.
I also think that an effort could have been made to organise the crafts in order of difficulty and/or complexity of ingredients. It just felt strange reading about burning alcoholic ink BEFORE the crafts featuring weaving ribbons onto sticks.
Due to the layout of the book a majority of the space is taken up with the step by step instructions for each craft. Occasionally this made it feel like the magick element of the book was sidelined. (Perhaps some crafts around common magick themes such as moon phases or sabbats, along with those already included in the book, would have helped to rectify the slight imbalance.🤔)

Overall, the book itself, as well as the crafts, are decent. I would potentially rate it a 3.5 if I had the option. However, there are just a few details missing which could have made a big difference.

Art Magick: How to become an art witch and unlock your creative power by Molly Roberts is an interesting read by anyone interested in art and magick, or any artists wishing to explore their craft in a different way. The first section of the book provides instruction on enchanting tools/materials, creating a magickal workspace and about how color and symbols play into art and magick. The second section of the book includes directions for about 15 different projects based on crafts such was weaving, painting, ceramics and mixed media.

Rating: 3/5 Stars

Recommendation: I liked the initial commentary in this book about weaving together art and magic, and the varity of projects. Enough so that I ordered the physical book (I had been reading it as an ebook from my library). However, the first project I attempted didn’t work as the author described and I had to tweak the instructions to make it look right. I’ll keep the book in my physical library and probably try another project, but not if I’m needing something mindless to work on at that moment. I really liked that none of the projects appear to necessitate being a trained artist or professional crafter and most of the projects are more “craft” projects than “art” projects.

at first i was skeptical, thinking this would be like a kids art book but for witches and i was wrong. the information given in the theoretical part has a lot of value and the example projects are really useful. this book really helped me to grow both as an artist and as a witch.
